truth.jpg
Name: The Truth About Forever
Author: Sarah Dessen
Description:
Macy Queen is seemingly perfect on the outside- living up to her mother and boyfriend's high standards, maintaining flawless grades, she has it all. But it's been three years since her father's tragic, unexpected death and inside, Macy is falling apart. For the summer, her perfect in-control intelligent boyfriend, Jason, has to go to Brain Camp, leaving Macy to wonder what to do over the long, hot break. Keeping in touch through email and filling in for Jason's job at the library, which Macy despises with every fiber of her being, she emails him about her troubles, ending with a risky move: the first "I love you". jason doesn't respond well, and he replies to Macy saying that they should take a break from their relationship during the summer and decide where they stand at the end. Macy is heartbroken, but agrees.

Then Macy tacks onto a new job: a catering business, where she makes longlasting friendships and meets a very handsome, charming boy named Wes. It turns out to be much more than that, for Macy and Wes really hit it off and soon become close friends, playing their all-time favorite game quite often: Truth. They learn so much about each other and build off of their common ground- Wes has lost a parent as well.

But as the book nears the end, Macy's mother is hiding from her grief and it's causing the family to fall apart. Macy has finally found happiness and her mother is too shocked by the change in her daughter to understand. When she decides that Macy cannot hang out with her new friends anymore after an incident in which Macy returns late to an important event because her boss went into labor, Macy's sister Caroline knows that her family has got to break open from this shell of grief. And as the summer continues, Macy wonders where she and Wes really stand in their friendship, and if they really do have something after all...

Name: Guardians of Ga'Hoole
Author: Kathryn Lasky
Type: Series
Description [this is a summary of the very first book in the series]:
Soren is born in the forest of Tyto, a tranquil kingdom where Barn Owls dwell. But evil lurks in the owl world, evil that threatens to shatter Tyto's peace and change the course of Soren's life forever.
Soren is captured and taken to a dark and forbidding canyon. It's called an ophanage, but Soren believes it's something far worse. He and his friend Gylfie know that the only way out is up. To escape, they will need to do soemthing they have never done before-fly.
And so begins a magical journey. Along the way, Soren and gylfie meet Twilight and Digger. The four owls band together to seek teh truth and protect the owl world from unimaginable danger.

Book Scene:
True in your heart! Those words in the deep throaty hoot of his father were perhaps teh last thing Soren remembered before he landed with a soft thud on a pile of moss. Shaking himself and feeling a bit dazed, he tried to stand up. Nothing seemed broken. But how had this happened? He currently had not tried flying while his parents were out hunting. Good Glaux. He hadn't even tried branching yet. He was still far from "flight readiness" as his mum called it. So how had this happened? All he knew was, one moment he was near the edge of the hollow, peering out, looking for his mum and da to come home from hunting, and the next minute he was tumbling through the air.

Name: The Amazing Death Defying Diary of Eugene Dingman
Author: Paul Zindel
Type: Single
Description: On his fifteenth birthday, precocious Eugene Dingman begins the amazing and death-defying diary of his summer spent as a waiter at a ritzy Adirondack resort.

"Zindel masterfully captures the mixture of bravado, ingenuousness and aching self-doubt that are endemic to adolescence."--Publishers Weekly.

Book Scene:
Friday, July 5, 5:03 A.M.
As I trembled and slowly ate my ice cream, my eyes caught sight of teh lovely Della again. She was Venus ascending, magnificently, religiously, from a clam shell. It was the Fourth of July, and she was the fireworks in my heart. That moment I knew all I had to do was figure out how I could come to possess her.

Name: DOG
Author: Daniel Pennac
Type: Single
Description: Nearly drowned at birth, left for the dead in a dump, and hounded by dog-catchers, Dog has had a tough puppyhood. Alone in the world he decides it's time to find himself an owner. But humans are fickle creatures. Who would take in an ugly, scruffy little stray like him?

Then he meets Plum. Could she be the mistress of his dreams? Or will Dog find himself in the streets again? Follow his adventures in this funny and touching tale.

Book Scene [I occasionally do these]:
Dog was seized by an enormous hand, lifted to a dizzy height, and dunked in a bucket of very cold water. He began to wriggle about and groan and cry and choke...

4143LvtX5FL._AA240_.jpg
Name: Diary of a Teenage Girl
Author: Melody Carlson
Type: I believe it's a series, however I have only read the first book. Also, it's directed much at Christians and has a lot of "God" stuff in it just to warn you guys.
Age Range: Hmm, maybe about 12-16.
Description: Follow Caitlin O'Conner, a girl much like yourself, as she makes her way from New Year's to the first day of summer ---surviving a challenging home life, changing friends, school pressures, an identity crisis, and the uncertainties of "true love".
You'll cry with Caitlin as she experiences heartache, and cheer for her as she encounters a new reality in her life: God. See how rejection by one group can --incredinly-- sometimes lead you to discover who you really are...

Book Scene:
Thursday, January 4 (a beginning)
Today, Jenny Lambert talked to me. Now, that may not seem like much to you. But Jenny is one of the most popular girls in the whole school. I know, here I go sounding all shallow again. You know, Jenny is a person too-- and I shouldn't hate her just because she's popular, should I?Besides, for a popular person, Jenny is actually pretty nice. She's friendly and even though she's a cheerleader, she doesn't seem all that full of herself the way most of them do. And she's probably the prettiest out of the bunch too. She has brown eyes and long, dark hair that's shiny and thick. Also, she's really smart.

My thoughts on this book: I loved this book. It really inspired me to develop a stromger relationship with God. Now, Caitlin is 16 while I am still 13, but I still felt some very important lessons were throughout the book that would turn quite significant as I got older. Melody Carlson had a great way of spilling all of Caitlin's hard and soft feelings into these books. If you're hoping for a better relationship with God or are experiencing difficulties in life, this a great book for you.

I started to read this a while back and thought it was pretty good.  Now I'm reading it in between Warriors books.Time CatBy: Lloyd Alexander

Gareth' s definitely not an ordinary cat. For one thing, he can talk. For another, he' s got the power to travel through time-- "" Anywhere, any time, any country, any century, " Gareth tells Jason. And in the wink of a very special cat' s eye, they' re off. From ancient Egypt to Japan, the land of young Leonardo da Vinci to the town of a woman accused of witchcraft, Jason and Gareth are whisked from place to place and friend to foe." Full of fun, excitement, and a good dose of history, here' s a fantastic tale that grabs the imagination and takes it far and wide, on the adventure of not one but nine amazing lifetimes.

You can read a preview of it here:

Title: The Truth About Diamonds
Author: Nicole Richie
IMO, this book is a very interesting book. I have 3 or 4 chapters left to read, each chapter is basically 6-7 pages long, if you count both sides of a page.If you dont then about 4 pages-5 pages long.
Age: Well, this depends on how mature you are. Average, I'd say 15-16. But I am 11 going on 12, so if you are mature, then 11+.

In this book, Nicole Richie herself writes about a girl, Chloe Parker. At the age of seven,Chloe gets adopted by a music superstar and his wife, and Chole goes from a little girl who loves to dance and sing, to a teenager disaster.
Suddnely, Chloe shoots to instant fameas a spokesmodel for a national advirtising campaign. When her birth father comes out of no where, and her best friend betrays her, Nicole trys to help, but Chloe doesn't listen. With Chloe being a drug addict, the campign forces her to go into rehab, and true love comes in.

I give this book 5 stars. Very good.

first(the tale tell heart and other writings by edgar allen poe)

eaptthaow.jpg

This is a bunch of short stories and peoms all thrown together into one book. Poe is and awsome horror writer, he could be writing about something you would normally find extermally dull, but with his description and way with words he keeps you on the edge of your seat(or at least with your nose in the book.) These are all written in fisrt person. But each time the main character changes.

The second book is called shatter mirror by Amelia A t w a t er-Rhodes (sorry won't let me type the name)

sm.jpg

This book was written by a Amelia when she was 17 even though she had her first book published when she was 13. So this is about a girl named Sarah Vida, who is a witch who is the daughter of the most powerful vampire hunting-dynasty in history and Christopher Ravena is a vampire who has sworn of human blood. Sarah ends up going to the same school as him and even though she right away recognizes him as her enemy, he is to weak to tell that she is a witch.
Sarah soon finds that she has been won over by his sensitivity and, gentilness and kindness. Can they be together when vida laws state that no hunter can befriend a vampire without facing unimaginable consiquences. But when Nikolas, one of the most reviled vampires ever, comes into the picture. suddenly a world that was as clear as black and white leaves room for shades of grey...

Yeah, sure. :] You can add some other small things if you'd like, it doesn't have to be exactly identical. But it shoudl be somewhat similar. ;D

Oh and just for the record, I didn't write the descriptions on my own. D: I wrote what was on teh back of the book. Feel free to write your own though. XD

EDIT: May I suggest putting an age range so that people will know if it's out of their reading level or something. ;D
