"I'm not one for much open space. I'm much to big to hide," replied Bearfur, grinning. As soon as she sauntered off, he nodded. He was the big one -- the one who pounced, but wasn't all too agile. Making note of Nightfang's direction, he stuck his nose to the ground. Fresh rabbit trails where everywhere, so in the end he randomly chose one and followed it. He was never truly one for rabbit, but that was probably because he wasn't fast enough to chase one. As it came into view, he gave a goofy battle cry and charged at it, herding it towards Nightfang's direction. He sure hoped that she was over there.

"All is well as it ever could be." Darkwhisker's blue eyes shifted. "Taking care of the clan is what I do, and even though I'm not the best, I am the best in effort." She casually boasted. Her mind though could not avert the task of which their ancestors has asked them to do. To revive the old clans. Was it even possible? It surely wasn't for her clan, and sespecially not for TigerClan. And then the thought came, TigerClan. The thought of that they aren't going to separate, to become the four clans. ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan. The legacies of those clans had become nothing more than two massive amounts of clustering cats, fighting over a small despute compared to what they really all had to do.

Nightfang heard Bearfur yowling a small way off. Yet it was owing from the wrong direction. With a hiss to herself she launched out trying to intercept the rabbit as it fled to her left. Her powerful legs had her on the rabbits hind end within a few moments. She lashed out with her paws, sending the rabbit sprawling a short distance. Before it could regain its footing, the she-cat pounced and quickly dispatched it. Nightfang let out heaving but triumphant gasps she saw Bearfur appear behind her out of the grasses. "Got it," she grinned.

Cliffstep nodded to Darkwhisker and smiled, though he secretly didn't like it when cats boasted about themselves. "Well, I'll leave you to it then. Featherheart." He nodded to the old medicine cat as he acknowledged her. He began to pad into the hollow and sat down in the middle. He tried to imagine what this camp would have been like in the times of the great hero legends, Firestar. Did cats still look the same all the way back then? Did they have different customs than LionClan had? What would it be like if there were four clans? Things would be hectic and it would be hard to keep track of where your enemies were if there were three other clans to worry about. It just didn't seem smart to Cliffstep. Two clans was the way to go.

Bearfur laughed joyously as he looked at the rabbit. Jabbing it with a paw, he stared at it. "Such a selfish rabbit. He's so fat," he commented, pulling back. "But a good find all the same. I'm impressed though, Nightfang. You're fast. But then again this rabbit was fat and probably just as laid back as me." Bearfur chuckled then looked at her. "Okay, I'm tired, let's go back," he decided, grabbing it in his jaws and trotting off. His stump of a tail wagged happily as he swung the rabbit around once or twice. But mostly, he couldn't wait to get rid of the taste of rabbit from his mouth. He was always a picky eater. It was a wonder how he got so big.

Nightfang snickered softly as she trotted to catch up with the large tom. She fell in step beside him and padded easily with him through the forest and back in to Thunderclan camp. Ivysong and her apprentice Finchpaw had returned not to long ago with a few mice and a vole. Nightfang couldn't help but small at the size of her and Bearfur's catch. "This should feed quick a few cats," With a smile on her face she watched as Bearfur put the large rabbit with the rest of the prey. "We make a good team Bearfur, we're gonna have to do that again..." she paused for a moment and playful light took her eyes, "Minus the tripping and running in to trees part of course."

He threw his head back in laughter and glanced at her. "I'd just like to remind you that you started it," chided Bearfur, giving her a knowing look. Then laughing again, he stared at the rabbit who had to be put to the side of the pile. "And yeah. We do make a good team," he added, nodding in agreement. "However, I don't enjoy rabbit all that much. Let's try for a bird or two next time." Rolling his shoulders, he grabbed a mouse and grinned. "Graff uhb," he said. Then slowly realizing his words weren't understandable, he motioned for her to grab a mouse, pointing with his paws and shaking his rear in replacement of a tail.

Nightfang grinned softly and suppressed her laughter as Bearfur wiggled his rear instead of a tail. She padded over and grabbed a small starling for herself and padded to a warm sunny spot of the camp. She flicked her tail for him to join her. When he had she took a few bites of her meal, licking her jaws with delight. "Ah, its always nice to have a good meal after a good hunting patrol," She looked sideways at the brown tom and grinned.

From where he sat on the high ledge, Hornetstar gazed out over his clan. His golden eyes watching them mill about. He hadn't been leader when the clans split, but he had been a young warrior. The deputy before he was chosen was killed in the chaos of the splitting clan. Afterward his leader, Dawnstar, had chosen him to be her successor. Now he tried to pick up the pieces of the broken clan. He knew of the legends of old where leaders had gotten nine lives in order to lead their clan properly. He certainly wished those old tales were true now. He could use nine lives. Yet he had to content himself on his single life to do his job.
A motion caught his attention, a frightened warrior named Fawntail came racing through the well worn thorn tunnel. "Quick! Get a medicine cat," she yowled. Behind her, Larkjaw and his apprentice Runningpaw came through the tunnel with the limp body of Troutheart being carried between them. Hornetstar bounded down the rockfall as confused cats gathered round to see what happened. Hornetstar let out a yowl to call for silence. His clan obeyed with round, scared eyes. Before he had to ask, Emberfang disappeared in to the medicine cat den to find Darkwhisker or Featherheart.
"What happened?" Hornetstar questioned Fawntail.
With a voice dripping with fear she wailed, "Tigerclan has claimed the old pine forest on our border and attacked us with no provocation! They ambushed us! They have challenged us to war!"
Hornetstar knew that there was a rift between the two clans but he had imagined that Tigerclan would keep to themselves once they had a clan of their own. For the most part they had, now this...
"What will we do?" a few voices rose with fear.
Hornetstar's eyes set ablaze with battle, "We shall defend ourselves."

He grinned and sat beside Nightfang, nodding and laughing. As Bearfur finished his mouse in two bites, he jumped up at the sound of panic. Whipping his heard towards Hornetstar, he regrettex t, for he was hit with a dizzy spell. But he regained his senses in time to hear the end of the conversation. Looking at Nightfang, he sighed. "And this, my friend, is my strong point. Fighting." He didn't even have to say anything. He knew Hornetstar would send him out there. No question about it. Bearfur would fight beside the best. Even if he was slow, when he fought, he was tactful and careful. "Hornetstar," he growled, looking at the leader expectantly.

Hornetstar turned to look at Bearfur, nodding his head knowing that the study brown tom would be an obvious choice to send out on patrol. Beside him Nightfang gazed at him expectantly but Hornetstar shook his head, "No Nightfang. Its better to send other cats."
Nightfang's jaw dropped and she hissed, "But I'm strong! I can help!"
Hornetstar fixed his amber eyes on her's and bristled, "I said no!"
Nightfang growled softly before she turned away and stalked to the edge of the crowd, not even giving her friend a goodbye or good luck wish. Hornetstar didn't have the time to worry about the young warrior's injured pride however. Instead he turned to the crowd and called out, "Emberfang lead the patrol. Bearfur, Lionclaw, Cliffheart, Redfoot, and Blackear will go out with you and Fawntail will lead the way." Each of the cats he had called began to move away toward the front entrance to the camp while Emberfang nodded to her leader.
"We will get our border back," she said with determination.
Hornetstar commanded in his leadenly voice, "No, just drive them out of our territory if you can. If it looks like there will be any fatal casualties, call for retreat."
Emberfang hesitated for a moment but nodded, "As you wish." With that she lifted her tail and led the war party out of the camp where Fawntail took the lead to the ancient Shadowclan border.
