Ebony's Short Stories/Poems .:Together Again:.

                                                                                  Together Again

Here I sit, a picture of your flawless face held gently in my fingers. Your eyes stare back at me with all the warmth you had in you. Your smile crinkles the edge of your mouth in that way I loved so much. I sit here for hours in our house, alone, without you. The moment you left, a hole formed in my heart. I miss you so dearly.
I turn in my chair and look about our house. Ghosts of the past dance across my eyes. Our son with his front teeth missing, him smiling at me. The laugh of our daughter as she chased butterflies across the yard. You, holding your arms open as they race to hug you when you got home.
I miss those days dearly. Such bliss we shared. Our friends would come over and share in the warm glow of what we created together. A home. A family. Now all of it is just echoes. You're gone. The children have grown to create warmth of their own. Yet, here am I. I sit and think upon the past, remembering the life we had.
Not all of our life was easy. We fought, but it was a good life. Now I'm haunted by the memories of days gone by. How I wish I could see you again. How I miss your voice, your smile, your love. I remember how it felt when you left. Everyone told me that every person has a season. That sometimes, when someone is no longer with you, it is meant to be.
I know they only wished to help, but it doesn't change how I felt, how I feel. I touch your photo with my aged hands. You were so perfect, even all your flaws. There was never another for me and I know we will be together soon.
I look up from the photo, a feeling of warmth enters my heart. I know this feeling. I look around quickly, your scent surrounds me. I know you are here. My failing eyes finally see you. Just as perfect as the day we took our vows. You look untouched by time, my heart aches to hear you speak.
You reach out your hand, a light glowing from within you. You are at peace and want me to join you. How I've wished for this moment. My shaky, wrinkled hand reaches out to you. Gently you take it. Your warmth spreads through me. You pull me from my chair so tenderly.
Your smile caresses your face as you look at me. You point behind me. I turn to look. There I am, eyes closed. I am no longer there. For a moment I am scared. I feel you bring my hand to your face. You press my palm to your cheek. I look to you, love in your eyes.
I see my hand, smooth with youth. I know now why you are here. I'm ready. With our hands entwined, we leave the house. Our house. Together again. You look at me and smile. I smile back as we step forward. The next part of our story awaits. We have eternity. We'll face it together. You waited for me. Now let us walk together again. I love you.

Yeah, this is a cliche' sappy story but I couldn't help myself XD I was reading something about aged people and listening to sad violin music. So yeah... that's why XD

Thank you so much Goldie! XD It really is cliche' but I like it X3 I have a question, what gender do you think the narrator is? Just out of curiosity.

I'm going to say female. I dunno, skimming back over it again, imagining it as either or, I've always pictured female. :) Am I right or wrong? :P

The funny thing is, it doesn't really matter XD I wrote it from a female's perspective first, but then made it so the story wasn't gender specific. When Ivo was reading it, she thought it was from a male's perspective. It's kind of interesting XD

That's so cool! Seriously, I love how it can be from either's point of view, it honestly gives the whole thing more edge and mystery, I love it! :D Interesting is the perfect word!

Ebony's Short Stories/Poems .:In the End - The ending to the Patriots RP:.

title: In the End.

genre: Closure/Ending/Romance/Angst

pairing: Ghost Town/Dex

notes: This is my end to the Patriots RP as summed up as I can possibly get it, otherwise I won't ever finish it DX

There he stood, thinking about all the things he could have done differently. The sounds of the cool fall breeze whisking down the side of the mountain was silent as it fell upon his uncaring ears. The setting suns rays outlined the lone figure. His only companions were three gravestones. The man's once completely black hair had dulled with time, the hair at his temples now silver and giving his face a regal look.
No one could tell from that far away, but he was trembling. It had been so long, but it felt like only yesterday. Not a single day had gone by that he didn't wish things had been different. He hated who he was. Not a single one of his kind was left. There had been five at one time. Slowly, they died, one by one. Every time had been his fault.
The first to go was some one that the dark haired man didn't care about. GK had been her name. A selfish, arrogant young woman that had gotten herself shot between the eyes. She had died on his mission though. She was his responsibility. He let her die. There was no way to make that right anymore. The second was their heavy weapons expert, someone who would have come in handy before their ship the Panthera was shot out of the sky. The young woman had been called Pratruskia, not much else was known about her since she'd been so quiet. The man had gotten her killed by trying to defy the powers that be. They'd been down to three for so long. His second in command, Lieutenant Shepard, had always butted heads with the man. The last of his kind... Dex... She was unlike anyone he'd ever met, or would ever meet again.
The man's hand gripped a pair of dog tags tightly. He unwrapped his fingers from around them and looked down at what it said. Ghost Town. Thats who he was, William "Ghost Town" Cassidy, Commander of the Patriots. The man leaned down and pressed his calloused hands to one of the gravestones. His dark brown eyes stared at the engraving. Dex. That's all it said. The man placed his dog tags to the soft soil and grass near the headstone.
"I miss you Dex", the man said softly. He said it just like he said it every year. He never visited more than once a year. It was too painful. Twenty-four years since that day. So much time had passed. William was fifty-two now. Twenty-four years without this woman. He thought back to how it all started.
A fight. It had started with a fight in the grand hall of Outcast. He wouldn't risk the lives of innocents, even if that meant saving the world from NAGA. It didn't matter though. NAGA had captured him, taken him away from the people he cared most about. That's when he met Dany. She was still alive, as far as he knew. The moment the could, she'd left. The girl had always wanted a normal life. William couldn't blame her for leaving.
That day he met her hadn't been too long before they'd escaped. The problem was, it was too late by then. When they returned to Outcast all they saw was the collapsed rubble of the underground city. No one survived. Not even William's mother, Gloria Fairchild. All that was left of the resistance was the Patriot group and the crew of the Star Runner. With no one left, it was time to go in to hiding.
They waited. A whole month they waited. Emili, their AI, managed to come up with a plan though. If she were in proximity to the Supreme Commander and Chief, she'd be able to link up with it and destroy it. With the SCC destroyed, the Splinter Cell would have no way of controlling New America.
William knelt beside Dex's grave and shivered as he remembered racing through the halls of the Splinter Cell. They killed so many. Emili's plan had worked, at the expense of her own life. Shepard had stayed behind to make sure it worked, just in case. Henry, his father, was trying to escape through the hanger bays. William and Dex were the only two that managed to get aboard his ship before it took off. He remembered looking out one of the windows to see the entire island called Cape Ironia lit up with fire. No one got off the island alive.
The dark haired man remembered sabotaging the ship they were in, making it crash to the Earth. Henry had gotten the best pilots in the world to fly it though so they survived the crash. The cowardly leader of the Splinter cell had managed to flee the wreckage in to the wilderness leaving William and Dex to hunt after him.
They set out in search of him, eventually finding out that he was at the capital of New America, the journey there was something he'd not soon forget. Those two weeks they'd spent traveling under the cover of night, relying off of each other to stay alive. It wasn't just that though... Every night, William had curled up next to Dex, at first just to keep warm... Then it turned in to something more. For too long had they been lost and alone. They were the last of their kind, and they knew that there was something between them.
It didn't last though. Nothing in his life ever could. The next day they found him. The next day they raided the compound that Henry was at. They fought was seemed like an army to get to him... Then it happened, in the main room at the top of the building, Dex sprinted ahead of him. She raced through the doorway in to the room with Henry. A force-shield shut behind her and William was left there, pounding against it to get to her. It was then he saw the belt of grenades she'd taken from dead soldier.
Henry bolted, trying to get out of the room. Dex remained as calm as ever though. She walked back to William, pressed her palm against the force-shield and looked at him. She opened her mouth to speak, but he couldn't hear her words. The look in her eyes made him desperately need to hear her. Even to this day, he could only guess at what she'd said. How he wished it was what his heart told him, three small words that would have meant the world to him. Fire. Thats all he saw. It enveloped the other side of the force-shield. Then she was gone. Gone. Gone forever.
Now all the man was left with was the broken pieces he had to pick up and a grave. New America was thrown in to chaos. Without even meaning too, William had accomplished exactly what his father had wanted him to do. A civil war ensued and he ended up the leader of one side. Here he stood after it all, the former president of the United Republic of America. He'd fallen right in to his father's hand. He recreated America. At least it was on his terms though. William had restored Old Americas way of life. Now he lived out his days alone. He'd never found anyone else to share his life with. No one he cared enough about to try and forget what Dex had said through the force-shield.
"I love you too", the man whispered softly.

I am and - oh my gosh, Ebbs - all the feelings I'm having! :C

afsak;fl - that's exactly what I would've made her say! "Take care, live a nice life, name your kid Dex - ta ta for now!" *BOOM* In one of my previous works, it was if Dex blew up that command room by herself towards the end of the roleplay and her thought was that she wanted him to name one of his kids Dex when he had a kid.

Because she expected him to have kids.

Hahahahaha. But she didn't realize poor Ghost Town is a forever kind of guy. :'C

edit/ re-reading the roleplay... REMEMBER MARY. THE LITTLE GIRL? IS SHE HIS ADOPTED DAUGHTER. FFFFFFFFF. PERFECT ENDING. BAM.

Yeah, the poor guy... Only on gal for him, and she just wanted him to be happy after her DX>

Of course I remember Mary DX Problem with that is... Remember in the fanfiction? No one from Outcast survived...

I originally planned for a few refugees to have been evacuated and Ghost Town adopting Mary, but it just seemed to be too happy for the poor guy. Ghost Town's life is a tragedy DX If we had developed the RP further, I may have just kept the little girl around... This is why Ghost Town hates his life. Everyone he ever cared for died D:>

... Ebbs... I... I'm gonna cry, me thinks. You couldn't have ended it better. It's really, really sad, but I think it's a perfect ending. ;A; Going to my corner to cry for ever and ever now.
