Kaleo hung behind the group, observing and taking in every sight his keen eyes could withhold. Even as an elf, he'd never seen such a beautifully created city. He'd seen many fine things in his travels that were made by his kind, but nothing as detailed and intricate as these buildings and places. The image of his dragon would not leave his mind. He couldn't help but feel a bit prideful at this opportunity. His heart held a level of excitement he'd never had before, while his exterior was the same, calm and stone. His eyes flashed from every side of him, watching the dragons, the people, everything was so...beautiful, that felt like the right phrase. Kaleo couldn't wait to see his dragon, and watch him soar through the air, it was a feeling of delight he couldn't shake.

Isel was hesitant, the idea of becoming a dragon rider still didn't appeal to him. "There's one thing I might mention to you guys." He said to the group, his voice cracking in odd parts of his sentence, as if he were very afraid to speak what was on his mind. "As it seems we will be on dragons, I think that flying is not... very appealing...." His words were avoding what he was trying to say, but his content was transparently clear. "I don't take to heights well. I mean, well it's that, erm, being in the sky and at any minute you could possible plundge down to the earth in a deathly spiral, and then crash into the group and make a large mess of your remains... Heheh..." He coughed awkwardly, then realizing how ridiculous he both looked and sounded, he instantly closed his mouth and folded his hands together.

Patting Isel lightly on the shoulder in a comforting manner, Ariana offered him a motherly smile. Suddenly, she paused for a second and changed her manners in the blink of an eye. Waving a dismissive hand she lifted her nose into the air haughtily and snorted. "But - butbutbut! Isel! We were destined for this! Don't tell me a little fear like that will stop you. Life is full of challenges - this is just a test! Don't you see that we were chosen for this because we would face challenges like such?" Her arms made a sweeping motion a fell back to her sides in one fluid motion as she spun in a quick circle and smiled. "I am much the same as you - yet I live in constant fear and you live in fear of one so what is there for you to truly fear? You must get over one as I must get over many. Truly you have quite the easy journey ahead of you. Don't believe it to be difficult, believe it to be right."

Anwen ignored all the talk of "what if we cant do" and stuff. She knew she could do this! It would be a challenge. She would have to work hard probably but she would do try. She will do the best she could and knew it. Raising her head high and whispering to herself "You can do this, you can do this!" she murmured looking at the dragon-dotted landscape.

Isel blinked at Arianna, startled by her inspiration. A small smile appeared on his lips, and he began to laugh. He couldn't help but be slightly inspired by her uplifting attitude. "I'm sorry Arianna, I am just very comforted with the idea of being who-knows-how-high in the air." Isel shrugged, and then looked to the others in the group. "Right then." He sighed, a more determined look replaced his smile. "Let us grasp our destiny before we fall into the darkness we call failure!"

"You'll probably get used to it after a while," said Kayus. "Plus, you could always tie yourself to the dragon. And if you somehow do manage to fall off your dragon, I'm sure they'll catch you before you hit the ground." Clapping his hands together, Kayus looked back at the elf who'd lead them here. He couldn't help but feel overly excited about becoming a dragon rider. "You said we'd get to meet our dragons now, right?"

Troka had left the boat with the rest of the group, though she remained silent and wide-eyed. She stared at each of the elves and dragons they passed by on their way toward the base of the mountain. The jewel colored dragons twisted and quirked their heads to study each of the new possible riders. Some let out soft rumbling hums from somewhere deep in their chest. Troka didn't understand what it meant, but she could tell the dragons were pleased. She hadn't been listening to Nastala since they left the boat. She wasn't aware the the she-elf had answered Kayus' question about meeting the dragons.
The she-elf had smiled softly and said, "Indeed youngling. We have no time to waste. I am taking you to them now."
Troka simply followed behind, her large hobbit feet hitting the ground with dull thuds. When the group reached the base of the mountain, they were presented before a large cavernous space dug into it. Inside was a large intricately crafted golden statue of a dragon with its wings unfurled and holding the roof of the cave up. Its gold maw opened as if roaring in triumph. Beside the dragon stood and elf with its hand resting on the dragon's flank. They stared out to the horizon, as if they looked at the future of all riders. The statues were much larger and any elf or dragon could hope to be, it dwarfed even the largest dragon Troka had seen on the way there.
Nastala walked to the base of the statue and turned back toward the group, "Now younglings, it is time for you to meet your soul-bearers. Should any of you not be the true partner of the fledglings that will appear before you, we shall take you back to your lives as swiftly as we can." With that she had each of the six prospective riders stand side by side in a line. She then turned back to the statue and walked toward the dragon's right front paw. An odd shaped appendage was welded to the side though Troka didn't know what it was until Nastala approached it.
The she-elf touched the appendage and called out, "As our ancestors have done, we do now. The spirits of Orlyn the first ridder and Pashurr the first ridden look down on us as we gather before the monuments made in their honor. I now blow the horn of the ancients to start the ceremony of uniting those who would bear another's soul." The she-elf bent her head and touched her lips to the mouth of what now appeared to be a great summoning horn and blew a mighty force of wind through it.
The dragon statue let out a thunderous bellow, anyone not familiar with the actual sound of a dragon could have easily mistaken this for one roaring. All around Troka, dragons threw back their heads and roared along with the statue, as if honoring the memories of the ancient leaders of their race. As the sound of the statue's roar faded, so did that of the dragon. Nothing but silence pervaded the whole of Ashal. Troka felt the tension build within her until the faint sounds of roars returned the call. These voices were not as loud, in fact they were higher pitched, as if given off by younger dragons. Troka's heart pounded in her chest. They were coming.
The heavy beat of wings could be heard as twelve young dragons swooped down from the top of the mountain toward the prospective riders. Each shining differently from the others. They roared and trumpeted as they circled the crowd in a great show. Troka's hand covered her mouth as her face lit with awe. One of these creatures was to be her partner.
The crowd that had gathered moved back, forming a large enough circle for the twelve young dragons to land in front of the six humanoids. The young dragons were rather small when compared to their adult counterparts. Instead of being as tall as a building, these ones were about half as big, though they were certain to grow with time.
Nastala stepped foward and grinned, "Welcome fledglings. Did we not promise you riders?" A few of the dragons let out snorts of amusement while other remained impassive. They new not all would receive a rider this day. The she-elf turned back toward the group of new riders. "There is an ancient phrase one must speak in order for a dragon's heart to hear their call. Should you be a true rider, then your dragon will know who you are." She turned back to the dragons, "Do not despair if your rider is not what you thought they would be. For they shall bear your soul and you theirs." Nastala turned to the six, "We shall start with the half-ling since you are on the end. Speak these words, and your partner will become clear to you." The she-elf fell silent and the crowd tensed, "Ve'suth fra Draconis. Groth fre jatherus unil ashalma ka ost frethuras, unil frethuras ka freth.
Troka couldn't explain how she knew what the words meant, but their meaning rang through her heart, mind and her soul. She knew they meant, 'Hear me Dragon. For my heart and soul are now yours, and yours are mine.' She hesitantly stepped foward, her eyes moving from one dragon to another and their eyes were trained on her. Timidly she spoke the words, "Ve'suth fra Draconis. Groth fre jatherus unil ashalma ka ost frethuras, unil frehuras ka freth." The dragon's all waited, their eyes intent. Troka gazed back at them, unable to understand how she was supposed to know what to do now.
From among the young dragons stepped foward a large deep green dragon with lighter scales covering his underbelly, jaw and tail. The sun gleamed off his ivory talons and horns while his jewel like green eyes stared down at her.
A voice spoke out to her, she didn't know how it was possible, but she knew it was the dragon's. His voice sounded like a deep rolling thunder within her, "Ve'suth fra Rider. Groth fre jatherus unil ashalma ka ost frethuras, unil frehuras ka freth. I am Kelshar." He didn't sound to happy to speak the response, but Troka felt awe fill her as she under stood his words. He had told her, 'Hear me Rider. For my heart and soul are now yours, and yours are mine. I am Kelshar.'

OOC: I apologize for the hecka long post!
You guys can do the similar things to what I did in order to find your dragon ;D

Kaleo watched as the young half-ling found her dragon, her match. It was an incredible moment to say the least, even if he didn't quite understand exactly what had happened. But from the look of the young half-ling's face, it was unlike anything she'd ever experienced.
It was his turn now. Stepping forward, a feeling rushed over him, one he'd never felt before. What would one call it? Nervous, that was the best word he could think of. He kept a calm outer exterior as he stepped forward. His silver eyes scanned over the young dragons before him. Several were very majestic and fierce looking, they were extraordinary, nothing like this had ever crossed his sight. His voice betraying no emotion, he called out firmly, "Ve'suth fra Draconis. Groth fre jatherus unil ashalma ka ost frethuras, unil frehuras ka freth." There was a deafening silence as his voice hung in the air. Then there was a commotion, and a young, solid black dragon rushed forward from the line of assorted dragons. It was a she-dragon, she was noticeably small, and her eyes shown with a childlike excitement. He felt his heart almost sink. This wasn't what he'd pictured. She didn't seem fierce, she didn't seem dangerous. If anything she was like a small child. She spoke words back to him, and they seemed to almost lift him up if it wasn't for the disappointment he held. "Hear me Rider. For my heart and soul are now yours, and yours are mine. I am Alya." He understood the words clear as a bell. This was his partner. This was his dragon. Her words were mixed with rushes of emotion, a vibrance of life to each syllable, so different from his own speech. The young dragon's eyes seemed to dim for a moment, but brighten up again. He couldn't help but fear there had been some mistake.

"Ve'suth fra Draconis. Groth fre jatherus unil ashalma ka ost frethuras, unil frehuras ka freth." Anwen spoke. One of the fledglings took flight. The dragon was small and bluish. She looked like she had cracks all over her body. The dragon opened her jaws to speak. "Ve'suth fra Rider. Groth fre jatherus unil ashalma ka ost frethuras, unil frehuras ka freth. I am Shatter." The dragon calmly replied. Anwen smiled ear to ear. She couldn't tell but she thought the dragon did too.

OOC: Just so everyone knows, because I didn't explain it before, the dragons don't speak vocally or aloud. They speak with their minds ;D Silly I know but that's how I imagined them to be ^^
