The Old Republic [3 Spots Still Open] .:Started:.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

It is one thousand years before the events that occurred on Tatooine happened to young Anakin Skywalker. There are two factions in the galaxy, the Republic, and the Sith Empire. Tensions are tight between the two factions, but an unsteady peace has been brokered. However, neither side believes the cease fire will truly last. So, both have raised armies as well as force users.

On the dark, backwater planet called Dathormir is a heavily guarded Republic prison. Thousands of lifeforms inhabit the prison, all having their own story. Many imprisoned for good reason, some wrongfully so. What matters is Cell Block 17, your cell block. There are five other cells in this prison block, and each of them want out just as badly as you do.

This day, unlike many others, is the day you might just get your chance. The warden has come down to your cell block today with an offer. Serve the rest of your sentence as the Republic's ghost agents, and you might just get your freedom back someday. This is where your story begins...

Rules -
1. If you are a force user, please remember, at the beginning of the RP, you don't have a lightsaber. Also, please don't abuse your power. Play your alignment.
2. No cursing.
3. No god-modding.
4. If you don't keep up with the RP, expect to be left behind. Doubt this RP will last that long though.
5. There may be only 3 force users total. End of discussion.

(I apologize ahead of time: I'm not very invested in star wars, so just yell at me when I have something really off. :D)

OOC: Psh, totally, and we'll look fabulous while we spy XD

IC:

Reyma stood in the locked holding cell she and three others had been taken to. She recognized the two of them from her cell block, though she hadn't spoken a word to either of them since her incarceration. Not that many people talked to each other here anyway. The three of them stood waiting for the warden to appear since he was the one that had called them to this cell. What was odd was that none of them had any sort of handcuffs on. They were free to move about the room as they pleased. However, it wasn't like there was much to do in here anyway. The room only had three seats and a long metal table in front of those seats. Reyma wasn't seated at the moment, she was merely pacing slowly a little ways away.
The young Cathar kept quite, as she usually did. She did send the other two a few glances, but nothing that would convey she wanted to speak with them. All this waiting around was getting on her nerves, though she only paced a little faster in her frustration. It was then that the holding cell's forcefield dropped and the warden entered. Almost immediately as he stepped in, the forcefield went back up, trapping them all.
"Well," the warden said, wasting no time, "I'm sure you three are as bored as you can be, so let's get down to business shall we?" The warden had a strange mix of sweat and fear scent on him that Reyma could smell from here. She wasn't sure why, and she probably didn't want to know. Whatever caused it was, was probably what caused him to be late. "So, I'm sure you want to know why you're hear huh?" he said with a harsh frown. None of the three bothered to answer, so the warden continued, "Well, it looks like the three of you have some parol time coming up. The Republic would like to make a deal with the three of you. If you work as agents of the Republic, loyally, for the next three years without question, you will have your freedom at the end of those years. You past crimes will be forgotten. You will be free. Of course, you have to survive the next three years. Either that, or I could lock you all back up in your cells until you croak. The choice is yours."

Aziel leaned against the table, indifferent. He was always being asked to do odd things. Just last week, they recruited him to help manufacture raw material for weapons: a right reserved only for the least likely to escape. He'd been there for so long, that those who'd worked there the longest knew how far they could trust him. And he didn't bother to violate that trust. For the last few years at least. He spent his time wandering the cells, memorizing all the paths. He was even allowed out of Cell Block 17 on the special occasion. He took these privileges none too lightly, and took in as much information as he could.
Now, he watched the young Cathar as she started pacing. She had beautiful golden eyes, and a firm set to her jaw as she walked. He knew she wasn't much for conversation, so he kept back and observed. She was obviously frustrated, and he wasn't sure why. He rarely received bad news, so he was unsure as to why she was on edge. He saw her look up before he heard the force field drop, and swiveled his head to take in the warden. He seemed fine when he first stepped in, but Aziel could see the nerves as he approached. This was different. He had a bad sense of foreboding wash over him. And then the warden spoke.
"... The choice is yours."
... Free? A feeling of dread washed over Aziel. What would it mean to be free? What was the world like outside of these walls? He wasn't sure if he had the ability to find out. Faint memories danced at the corner of his mind. The suns. Laughter. A warm breeze. They were gone as quickly as they'd come. Anger burned in the pit of his stomach. Was this some sort of trick?
"Why us?" He said at last, his voice raw from disuse, "How did you decide to choose us?"

"Well, admittedly, you're not our only choices," the warden shifted uncomfortably, causing Reyma to give a slight snort of a reply. "However," he continued, "You three are at the top of our list. You, Aziel, because you've been here pretty much your whole life. According to our file on you, you've had no real violent tendencies, and the staff here trust you." The man turned to the other prisoner besides Reyma, "And you, Ansoa because of your history with the Jedi counsel. You'd be an asset to any team that needed you." The warden then turned his attention to Reyma, "And you, Reyma because of your knowledge of space and your ability to move around through... Unconventional routes." Then the man turned and addressed them all again, "You three would make a good team. I believe you could do many great things for the Republic. Remember, the choice is yours."
Reyma stayed quiet for a moment before she asked evenly, "What about my ship? So I get to fly it, or are you giving me a hunk of junk?"
"Your ship will do," the warden said, "Anything we give you would have Republic signatures. We don't want our enemies being able to identify you."
"Three years," Reyma tested the words on her tongue before she growled, "Then I get my freedom?"
"As do the rest of your crew," the warden said.
"Fine, I'm in," Reyma said quickly. As soon as she was off this rock, the rest of these guys were going to be blown out the nearest air lock.
"Good," the warden smiled, though he looked weary, "Oh, and don't try to fall off the map. We require regular reporting in, twice everyday via your holoterminal. You all must be there, otherwise, the ship self destructs."
Reyma let out a deep growl at the back of her throat, sounding more animal than human, despite her mostly humanoid appearance.

Aziel frowned, weighting the whole exchange with an even face. Trust. He could be trusted? His feelings of unease about his past came creeping up on him again, but he quickly forced them down. More questions would just upset him. He took a deep breath.
"Three years," Reyma tested the words on her tongue before she growled, "Then I get my freedom?"
"As do the rest of your crew," the warden said.
"Fine, I'm in," Reyma said quickly.
Aziel was surprised by how quickly she accepted. He took another moment to weigh it over himself. Live a safe life down in the prison, or go out into the universe. Maybe find out who he was? The thought gave him a shake. "I'll do it." he heard the words slip from his mouth before he thought them.
"Oh... the ship self destructs" the warden smiled. Reyma growled, and that snapped Aziel out of his stupor more than anything else. He expected a catch, but he thought that she would have noticed. And he wasn't expecting an animal sound from the girl. He was reminded once more of the less humanoid cells that he'd visited. Aziel shuddered.
He looked to Ansoa, eyes flickering from her to Reyma. "I thought you were a blind, not a mute." He muttered under his breath, crossing his arms and looking past the warden at the barrier. Inches from reality. He let his mind wander on the possibilities.
