Chapter 3

Moonkit felt the figure trying to wriggle viciously out of her grasp,but she held it firm.
Her vision was suddenly obscured with pools of a beautiful shimmering blue.She
retracted her claws that were holding the prey.But it wasn't a mouse or a vole that
she had jumped on;It was a cat.A yell was heard,coming from behind her.The kit
quickly sprang to her paws at the sound of an unknown she-cat's voice,obviously
worried.

"Ash! Are you alright? Did that cat hurt you?" The she-cat asked so many questions
to the gray cat Moonkit had mistaken as prey.She felt a sudden familiar presence
around her.Turning her head towards the rustling bushes in front of her,she opened
her jaw slightly to drink in the scent of the surrounding air.Vaporfur emerged from
the shadows,holding a bunch of roots in her mouth.She let out a gasp as she spotted
the purple-gray she-cat that stood in front of her,the roots falling from her jaw.

"Sparkle?" Vaporfur said,a mix of shock and curiosity in her voice.Sparkle jerked her
head towards the blue-gray she-cat at the sound of her name.The same shocked
and curious expression traced across her features,for she could not believe what she saw.

"Vaporfur? Is that you?" She asked with the same tone.Approaching the she-cat
cautiously,unsure if it really was Vaporfur,a small nervous smile spread across her lips.
Moonkit and that other cat,apparently named Ash,watched them go closer and
closer to each other.Falconstar,Sunkit and Snakekit suddenly jumped out of the
bushes,searching for Moonkit.Two other cats appeared from right behind Ash.One was
a gray tom with black spots and the other looked almost exactly like Sparkle,only her
pelt was a bit lighter.A scream of joy escaped from the two dumb-struck she-cats.
Bounding with excitement,they nudged eachother in the flank.Vaporfur kept on asking
questions to her friend.

"I can't believe it's really you Sparkle! It's been a while since we last saw eachother."
Vaporfur cried out. "Oh Vaporfur,you look as dazzling as the last time you came to
visit me with Blueheart." Sparkle yelped in reply,with a hint of mockery.

Falconstar stepped foward,and so did the gray cat with the spots.

"Sparkle,Patch,how have you been lately?" He asked.

"We've been doing great,Falconstar." The tom replied. "And you?"

"Fine,actually." Vaporfur replied quickly. "Oh wait.I would like you to meet my kits."
The two kittypets glanced at eachother,both bewildered.Vaporfur padded to her kits
,nudging them in the side.Sunkit hissed and complained,but Moonkit let her mother
be.They finally came to halt at the foot of the she-cat.On the other side of the clearing,
Patch prodded Ash and the other she-cat gently to the two she-kits.

"Hello there.I'm Sparkle,and this is Patch.We're friends of your mother and father.And
your grand-father"

After that introduction,all four kits remained silent.Snakekit was twitching his tail
nervously but broke the awkward silence.

"Hello,my name is Snakekit.This is Sunkit and Moonkit." He answered,pointing his muzzle
at them.He knew he shouldn't have interupted.It was a mistake to do so,but the
silence made him nervous.

"Well hello there Snakekit.Who's kit are you?" Patch said cordially.Snakekit hesitated
for a moment,glancing at Sunkit from time to time. Sunkit shot out of her daze and
responded quickly.

"He's from Leafclan.He left his clan because he is half-blood.His parents have joined
us along with him."

The two kittypets stared at the kit in disbelief.Vaporfur padded swiftly over to them,not
sure if that was the right thing to say.Meanwhile,Ash,Moonkit and that other she-cat
were having a little conversation further away.

"H-hi there.M-my name's A-ash. W-what's yours?" The tom said.God is she beautiful or
what? Ash thought to himself,amazed at how beautiful Moonkit was.

"M-moonkit.My n-name is Moonkit." She tried to sound calm,and yet she failed miserably
at hiding her shyness. I have to admit,he is quite handsome.Wait?! What am I saying!?
I promised myself I would never love another cat! She shook her head wildly,remembering
the tom she once loved.Webby,the purple-gray she-kit,spoke up to greet the Waterclan
soon-to-be apprentice.

"Hello,Moonkit.This is my brother Ash,as you might already know.I'm Webby.It's a pleasure
to meet the grand-daughter of the great Waterclan leader."She said,nudging her brother
in the ear.But Ash only had eyes for Moonkit.Webby noticed this,and smirked evily,sneaking
up quietly behind her dear brother.

Finally! Chapter 3 is Up! Yippee! Chapter four is comin' soon!

Note:The cat that Moonkit once loved was Flamerain.But when she found out he loved Pebblestream,it broke her heart.So she promised herself that she will never love another cat ever again.And although on the outside she seems like a friend to Pebblestream,on the inside she's beating herself up over him.So,you could say she doesn't like Pebblestream because she "stole" Flamerain from her.

Note #2:All the Waterclan cats are good friends with Patch and Sparkle.No one has ever told the kits that though.
