To understand this book, you don't even have to have read the first series, it's about different Clans, far away from Riverclan, Thunderclan, Windclan, or Shadowclan...
Prologue
The air around them was black as the grup of pelts made their way to the heart of the forest. "Keep moving, we're almost there!" one cat bellowed to the rest. Letting out a sigh of relief, the cats struggled to drag their tired bodies to their new home, where they could settle into a peaceful life, unbothered and unharmed. They wouldn't have as big of a risk of getting hurt by terrible city things, as one cat once had. They would actually be able to find fresh food, far, far away from Twolegs or monsters. Suddenly a yowl came from the front of the line of cats. They all rushed forward, forming an unorganized circle. A cat, who would be their leader once they found a home, layed on the ground. His leg was badly bleeding still from his wound that a terrible monster gave him. A cat, too dark to see in the black night air, rushed in front of all the other cats and sniffed the at. "He's collapsed from his wound. He's alive, but if there's chance of survival, we'll have to carry him until we get farther into the forest. The other cats closest to their new leader picked him up with every ounce of their strength, ignoring how weak they felt. They walked until finally they found a flat, quiet area in the forest. The cats laid the wounded cat down. The clouds moved away from the sky, revealing a bright strip of stars. The cat who anounced the leader had collapsed's eyes flashed as she looked up at the stars. "Other wild cats who have lived their lives are up there. They have cleared away this land in the forest for us to create a peaceful Clan. They will be with us to help make good decisions. They are called Starclan," She anounced. Then she jerked her head down as if falling out of a trance. Another cat stepped forward. "StarClan? What's that?" He questioned with confusion in his voice. The other cat met his gaze and shook her head. "I do not know."
The sun shined brightly across the cleared space of land, which had seemed so dark and unwelcoming on the night the cats came, like the rest of the forest did. One cat, one who had helped the leader when he'd collapsed on the journey over, trotted over to the leader. She was a slender tortoiseshell, and the leader was a sleek white cat with pale gray patches. "Are you feeling better, Patch?" the tortoiseshell asked. "Yes, thank you. This seems like a great place to live, but have you recieved any more odd signs, Flower?" the leader, Patch, replied. "From StarClan? I do not know who they are, and I have not recieved any more messages, but I think I will recieve one soon enough," Flower replied. Patch trotted off and Flower turned to check on the other cats. She liked to take care of them, she knew very well of how to. Was there a place for her in the forest where she could do such a thing for the other cats? This odd "StarClan" would explain to her soon enough, she hoped. Patch went to a shelter in a cave with leaves sheltering the entrance. He had been sleeping here, he made this his den. He lay down and burrowed his face in his paws, hiding from a pain he had hid so well from everyone. His body ached from the long journey over, but he didn't want the other cats, including Flower, who could heal many, to know he felt weak. Helooked up as a cat approached his den and came in. "Should we go look for food?" a brown tabby asked. "Yes," Patch replied with a silent sigh."Gather some other cats, please, Stripe." Stripe nodded and left, before coming back with several cats. Patch struggled to his paws and began walking out into the forest surrounding the clearing.
