Ebonycloud's Fanfic's ~New Chapter 20 UP!!~

This is a story i have been thinking about for a while. It is about a white wolf named Aden. He is a test experiment in a nightmare like lab. He has an amazing ability to learn, but has almost lost his ability to love anything in the asylum. So here is part one =D

Lost Soul

            Alone.

The only word that ever made sense. The only word Aden could describe himself with. Alone. He wasnt always alone. He had seen other colors besides white and gray. He had once seen vibrant gold and luxurious greens. He had felt more than the cold hard concrete beneath his feet. He remembered the feeling of grass under his paws, and the feeling of wind rushing through his fur. But it was no more. He was alone. There were no other pelts to keep him warm at night. His mother wasnt there to whisper sweet, comforting words in his ears. Now it was only the hairless creatures, in the pelts that they had taken from other being that visited him now.

His cold, empty gray room was the only comfort he had. He knew if he stayed in the gray room they would leave him be. It was the outside world that scared him now. It made him tremble and shake when they opened the door and took him out. He hated the smell they brought with them. An unnatural tang of chemicals always pierced his sensitive nose. He hated everything about this place.

He heard the faint clicking of a hairless creature going down the white corridor that led to his chambers. They were coming for him. Every time they came in he wanted to sink his fangs in to their soft flesh but he knew better. He had learned harsh lessons about the white coats, but he was smart. He had to be. In a place where the white coats could kill him on a whim, he had to learn. He knew they would come for him and he would have to act like a tame beast if he wanted his beautiful white pelt to stay in tact.

They door opened and the smell, sounds, and light flooded in to his cell. He stood slowly and inched to the back of his chambers. He wanted to get out. He hated the outside but he knew that this torture house wasnt his whole world. There were colors beyond the walls of this asylum and he wanted to see them again. He had to feel the wind rushing through his white fur and the smells of grass around him.

A large white coat stalked toward him with its big hairless paw stretched out to him. He took a sniff toward it and the rancid smell of unnatural chemicals pierced his nose. He let the white coat put on a heavy metal chain around his neck. Then he slowly walked toward a cage they had for him. He sat down inside the cage to plot. They put his cage on to a large rolling transporter. As they passed through the endless white corridors, Aden began to hear the strange noises of the asylum. The low humming and beeping that their machines made. He hated everything about the machines. All to many times he was put in to a machine and locked there for far too long.

Lately the white coats had been training him to hunt. This was the only thing he had enjoyed from them. He loved to chase down the adversary and kill it. The only problem he had with the training was they were training him to track scents very much like his own. He was being taught to hunt and kill wolves. He didnt mind it as long as they left him alone. Today they brought him in to a world of bright colors. He saw the gold and greens he remembered from when he was young. One of the white coats brought a scent to him. The heavy metal collar tightened around his throat. If he didnt find the prey he was in danger. They opened his door and let him drink in the scent.

It was very much like his but it was softer and good-natured. They wanted him to kill a female.

Part 2

Aden raced through a quiet forest. He drank in the wonderful scents that he remembered from his puppy hood. Something was wrong. Normally didnt let him race away like this. They always had him in some sort of enclose area but this time he was free. In an instant he realized that was what the chain was for. As long as he had the heavy chain around his neck they knew where he was and where he had been.

He continued to rush through the ever-darkening forest. His pelt began to glow like a light in the present darkness. He had to find his target before this ominous forest swallowed him alive.

It was quite sometime later when he stopped. He had been tracking this scent all day but it was in vain. There was no trace of it anywhere; He came to a slowly flowing river. He tilted his head down and lapped some up. The clear, cool liquid flowed down in to his throat. It soothed his tired body. He had to find his target quickly. He had never gone hunting for food before and he wasnt properly trained for that. He sat down to think.

The white coats werent making any sense. Usually they would hurt him if he took this long but there wasnt a trace of the white coats since he was let go earlier that morning. The scent he was tracking wasnt even present. He growled his frustration. This mission didnt give him a good feeling. He sighed and looked around to get his bearings. He looked in to the distance and saw a shadow flicker across a large oak. His instinct kicked in and he raced after the shadow.

Every powerful muscle in his body rippled under his luxurious white pelt. His adversary would be killed swiftly and without mercy. The shadow disappeared and Aden stopped. All of his senses were on hyper alert. He wrenched his head side-to-side trying to find the shadow. A faint lighthearted giggle fluttered in to his ears. He quickly pelted toward the sound.

He came in to a bright clearing where a small pond nestled itself right in the middle. He glared around to find the source of the giggle. The scent he was tracking flowed about the small oasis. He expected to see a large crazed beast come stalking toward him like in his training sessions, but to his surprise he saw a lightly built young she-wolf.

She danced about the shore of the pond with grace and beauty that he had never seen before. Her reddish brown pelt glowed in the setting suns light. His cold heart stopped for a beat. His blue eyes gazed in wonder as she danced and leapt as graceful as a bird in flight. She giggled and laughed in joy as she splashed on top of the water. Surely this couldnt be his target?

It was true this was the wolf he was sent to find. Her warm lighthearted scent filled the clearing. He shook his head side to side to clear it. He charged toward her with his jaws open ready to rip her soft flesh apart.

The young she-wolf turned to him and her face turned in to a mask of horror. She stopped dead and only stared as he launched himself at her. Adens jaws parted and he growled, "This is the end!"

Part 3

Aden was almost upon his prey when he felt a force of great strength hit his side and knock him back. He landed on his other side with a great thud. He glared at whoever it was that did this too him. There standing in front of the young reddish brown she wolf was a large well muscled he wolf. This wolf was older then the she wolf but only by two years at the most. His gray black pelt bristled along his spine, as he called out, "Leave Ilari alone!"

"Hunter!" she barked softly "Dont be so rough with others!" Hunter turned his yellow gaze to his companion.

He growled deeply to her, "He just tried to kill you! Now you want me to smile and be nice to him!"

Ilari growled back, "Maybe he was confused! Maybe he thought I was a threat!" Aden watched them and learned quickly. He was going to have to make some heavy decisions if he was going to survive.

He stood up quickly and said in a convincing lighthearted voice, "Please, I was mistaken. I thought I was on my own territory. I didnt mean to cause any harm. I just crossed the border."

The other wolves stopped their bickering and turned to him. Ilari's deep brown eyes were alight with laughter and triumph. "See!" she laughed, "I told you it was a mistake." Her companion didn't look so convinced. It was apparent that the young she wolf wasn't very experienced in the ways of the world. She was innocent and willing to trust his every word. Aden could use this to his advantage.

"You honestly expect me to belive that this loner just made a mistake!? He was coming at you full force! This is the first time I have ever smelled this foul stench." Aden flattened his ears. It wasnt his fault he smelled like the white coats. Hunter scoffed again. Ilari gave him the cutest pout that Aden had ever seen. He couldnt help but stare at her.

Hunter growl, "Well if he is a loner only Leon can pass judgment."

Aden tilted his head, "Who is this Leon?"

Hunter gave him a wicked grin, "Only the greatest wolf that ever lived." Aden gave a skeptical glance but said no more. Hunter turned and bounded away as he called, "Come! I will take you to him."

Aden shrugged and looked at Ilari. Her innocent smile shined on her young face. Aden hid the smile that was trying to spread across his face. This young wolf had a natural charm about her that made him want to just smile. He turned away; this was going to be a problem if he was going to succeed in killing his prey. When he turned back she wasnt there. He saw her bounding away to join Hunter. With natural ease he bounded away with them. His long muscled limbs let him catch up in no time at all.

He saw Hunter turn to give him a hard stare. This wolf was obviously very protective of the young she wolf. He gave Hunter a fake non-threatening smile. The dark gray wolf turned his eyes back and quickened the pace. Suddenly the scent of many wolves fluttered in to his nose. Killing his target wasnt going to be easy, but Aden savored the challenge.

Part 4

As they were getting closer to wherever they were going, Aden grew tense. Ilari and Hunter dropped back so they were on either side. Aden felt like a prisoner being taken to his death. A deep anger boiled inside of him but he his it behind a smile. Hunter merely growled at him. When Hunter slowed down so did Aden. They had arrived at the base camp of their pack. It was the most beautiful place his eyes had gazed upon. Their home was nestled in to a small hill. A slowly flowing stream that could relax even the most wary of beasts traveled right beside the grassy dune. Lounging about near the stream was a gray male wolf. He was light gray from his head to his back. On his back was a dark brown patch. Across this wolf face spread a large grin that would tell anyone that he enjoyed his life. Aden almost glared at the wolf. That happy go lucky life style would change entirely if he had been with the white coats too.

Bounding down the hill came a cream colored she wolf. She had a scowl on her face as she reached the bottom. Her green eye met Adens deep blue gaze. Spreading across her face came seductive smile and she stared at him like he was a piece of meat that had the most flavor in the world. Adens gaze became instantly cold. His blue eyes looked like chips of ice as she neared the three wolves.

"Well, well, well," She giggled as she stared Aden down, "What do we have here?" Aden merely glared at her but her hungry like gaze never left his luxurious white pelt. "No need to be so distant my friend," she replied to his cold stare.

Hunter stepped in front of Aden and growled, "Enough Athena! He is to go straight to Leon, not your den!" his yellow eyes glared at the she wolf. She merely shrugged off his angry stare and turned to the hill again. She slowly turned her face back to Aden.

"If are ever in need of anything, just come to my den." With that she bounded back to the hill. Adens cold eyes watched her go and felt a tail flick him in the side. His cold stare turned to Ilari and he saw her visibly flinch at it. He sighed and turned away.

Hunter turned back to them and growled, Come with me. He took a slow pace toward the hill. Aden was beginning to dislike this place. The Wolf who had been lounging by the river stood up and came trotting over to them. He cackled at them, "Well Hunter! You cant give anyone a break can you?" Hunter fixed him with his yellow eyes.

I dont need to be lectured by you Noah! he snapped at the gray wolf.

"Have some respect for your future father in law!" retorted Noah. Noahs eyes turned to Ilari, "Keep your future mate's temper under control." Noahs eyes brightened as Ilari smiled at him. Aden sighed. He felt so out of place among these wolfs. Suddenly he heard a deep strong voice come from the crest of the hill.

"Hunter! Why is there a strange wolf on my hill?" Adens eyes turned to a large golden wolf. The sun beat down upon his fur making it shine brilliantly. A smaller black wolf with and air of elegance around her stood beside the golden wolf.

Hunter bowed his head as he muttered, "I found him attacking Ilari by the lake. I stopped him before he could do anything to her."Hunters voice was full of respect and something else that Aden recognized, ambition. "I brought him here to have your judgment thrust upon him." Hunter lifted his eyes, "I was hoping you would be proud, father."

Chapter 5

Aden watched Leon closely, observing the emotions he held toward his son. To the contrary Leon had no expressions on his face. Instead he had a controlled calm about him. There was no doubt that Leon and Hunter didnt have a very close relationship. Aden shrugged his shoulders. He didnt want to get in to deep by thinking too much about any others beside the target he was after. His eyes slowly shifted to where Ilari stood. She a look of awe in her eyes, she defiantly respectly Leon greatly.

Leon slowly walked down the green slope with the elegant black wolf matching him step for step. Her eyes never wavered from Adens face. Aden tilted his head in mock innocence. He heard Leon make a rough grunt toward Hunter. Hunters eyes narrowed and focused on Leons face. Something passed between the two. Aden thought no more about it. He had to focus on finding a way to kill the target. His eyes inched back to Ilari. She was watching a butterfly flutter past her nose. Aden rolled his eyes; she was so naive and young. This was going to be too easy. As long as he could keep her away from Hunter this was going to be a very quick assignment.

Leon turned his deep green eyes toward Aden and scoffed, "Just what did you think you were doing coming on to this territory?" His voice held nothing in it. It was loud but Aden could detect no emotions. It made him wary. Using emotions against others was one of his specialties but Leons presences felt like a void in a sea of life. Adens pelt stood on end but he managed to reply evenly, "Well I know what I was doing All that matters is what you think I was doing." His sly gaze turned to the furious face of Hunter. Aden gave him a cold smile.

"Ilari!" came the voice of another young wolf. Aden whipped his head around to see a wolf that looked very similar to Hunter bounding toward them. The only differences between this wolf and Hunter were that he was younger, about Ilaris age, and had a pleasant smile on his face. He heard Hunter give a low-pitched growl and the young look-alikes face became confused.

"Yukon!" came Ilaris young musical voice. The young wolfs confused face brightened and he grinned widely at the young red brown wolf. Aden sighed. This was the last thing he needed, another liability to get in the way. His window of opportunity was getting smaller by the moment. He had to come up with a plan before the sun set. His eyes turned to the sky and saw the first star of the night. He growled silently.

Leons blank stare had never left Aden. "What is your name?" The large golden wolf commanded. Adens gaze returned to the leaders face. He gave a large innocent smile and stated evenly, "What does it matter? If you are going to pass a sentence on me, does it really matter what my name is? Go ahead and command your warriors to strike me down without a fair trail, I wont hold it against you." Adens cold blue eyes were focused on Leons blank green ones. A feeling of unease passed through the group of wolves. They had never felt such tension, not even when Leon talked to Hunter. They all sensed a great feeling of power rush between the large silent wolves.

Leon said with no emotion, "What is your name?"

Aden smirked. This wolf obliviously expected him to follow his order. He chuckled, "Well if you simply must know," he paused and a spark of an emotion that Leon didnt recognize, raced past his blue eyes, "It is Aden." Aden gave the larger wolf a sly grin. The window of opportunity was closing to a slit.

Chapter 6

Aden felt the gaze of the many wolves focused on him. He held no expression on his face as he waited for Leons judgment. Two more wolves had joined in and Aden began to grow even more desperate. He heard the two new comers whisper, "What is going on?" Noah answered them.

"Fable, Domino where have you been? You missed the whole thing!" Aden studied the newcomers. The male of the two was a scrawny little gray wolf that looked like he couldnt even hurt a fly. The other was a brown and black speckled female. She held her self in a modest almost self-conscious position. Her eye never met the other wolves except Noahs. He felt a wave of love pass between Domino and Noah. Aden turned away. He was gathering information he didnt need.

He turned back to Leon and lifted an eyebrow. Leons eyes were blank but they were focused on Aden. Finally Leon spoke, "I have made up my mind." He turned to the black she wolf beside him, "Freya I hope you support my decision." The black she wolf lifted her eyebrows.

"Of course I would agree my love." Here was something Aden did pay attention to. Freya and Leon were Hunters parents and his targets future in-laws. He might be able to make a plan out of this, and on the other hand it could end up a disaster. He would have to make some careful maneuvers to set a plot in motion.

"Then I decree," his voice echoed across the hill, "That since Aden has been caught in the act of attempt at murder," that word chilled Adens blood. Attempt at murder? Was that really how Leon saw it? Adens eyes narrowed as a gasp rose in the wolf ranks. They had obviously seen the attack as a mistake. Leons blank stare had seen through the charade. "Aden must serve the pack of the icy river. He has attempted to take a life and there for we have the right to claim his. He has spilled no blood thanks to my son. Adens life is now at the mercy of his attempted victim." His eyes turned to Aden. Aden flinched in side at the fire in Leons eyes. He had never seen such a fierce wolf. "Aden, you are to serve Ilari until you have lost your life. When that happens the life dept will be paid."

Aden growled threateningly, "And what if she dies before I do?" his voice was like ice.

Leon battled Adens icy voice with his own fiery one, "Then you must serve her mate until you have died." Aden didnt like that idea. Apparently there was going to be a long list of whom he must serve. At that rate Aden would have to kill the whole pack. He didnt like that idea.

Adens voice was filled with a poisonous sting, "Then so be it." He turned his gaze to Ilari. Her eyes were full of doubt and fear. Hunter stepped up beside her.

"Hey, flea pelt, if you come so close as to nip her by accident," he paused, "I will rip your throat myself." Adens eyes watched him. Hunter was all talk.

Though he didnt want to get in to a fight with the large wolf. Aden could win but he didnt want to risk it. Adens blue gaze was mocking as he replied to Hunter, "You really think I would let anything happen to the one I must protect?" He stalked forward and bent down at Ilaris feet, "My life before yours." He vowed with a poison dripping in his words. He lifted his eyes to Ilaris and gave her a cold smile.
