Gracesong broke from her even stride next to Wolfstar. Something didn't seem right. She ran towards the Medicine cat den. The snow stung her eyes and she colsed them to a slit. Everything was the same in the den. "Hi Graceso-" someone said, but she ran off. She went to the apprentice den. She winced as the storm hit her fur violently. It was empty. All of the apprentices were in the Medicine cat den. She braced herself for the storm again. She threw herself out and managed to get to the Warriors den. She looked around the dimly lit den. It stenched of blood. She shook the snow from her pelt and padded forward. "Hello?" She asked the darkness. No answer. She gasped and took a step back. A tom was standing over a Warrior's body. His light green eyes flashed as they looked at her. She held the gaze a moment, and the Warrior shoved her aside and ran out of the den. She turned to confront him, but he was gone. She slowly padded up to the body. It had long scratches across it's pelt. She flipped it over and gasped. "Nightfire!"

Tabbystripe walked out of the medicine cat den. He sighed. He was deputy, but he just didn't know how to fully help his Clan. He woul help mothpaw and ebonycloud, but fawnpaw and nightfrostwere caring for them, he didnt want to get in the way. He didn't know what to do. Sghing, he got up and trudged through the snow out of camp for a walk.
Ebonycloud looked outside of the den and saw that the storm hadnt let up. He glanced at Mothpaw once more. If she had been awake he would have been to embarrassed to give her the longing looks he did now. He wanted to protect her more than anything and yet there was something wrong. He felt as though a part of him thought that that her being his apprentice would feel more like a father daughter relationship. Was it so wrong to feel the way he felt now? He had a hard time grasping the word that he wanted to say aloud. He wanted to tell her but his akward innocence kept it from his lips. He sighed and looked away. Nothing made sense. The only thing he was sure of was that he wanted to be at Mothpaw's side forever. No matter what his mixed up feelings said.
Wolfstar glanced as Gracesong ran off. "Gracesong?!" He yowled, leaping into the blizzard and following Gracesong's fear-scent to the Warrior's Den. He stopped, frozen with shock, in the entryway. "Night...fire...?" He asked, his eyes wide with grief.

"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
Gracesong collapsed next to her friend's body. How could this happen? Who did this to her? She closed her eyes and tried to recall the attacker. There was the unmistakable light green eyes. The muscular front legs... Sort of like hers. Her eyes shot open. She knew who the attacker was. But why? She stood shakily, "I'll hold vigil later..." She whispered, running out of the den.

Gracesong lost her breath as Wolfstar came to her quickly. "Where's my brother?" She asked, alarm flashing in her eyes. She recalled the prophecy, "Light will meet darkness and many will suffer." She whispered, her voice cracking. She kept a steady gaze with Wolfstar and a tear fell from her face.

"He went on a patrol as soon as the winds died a bit. Why? Is something wrong with him?" He asked worriedly as he saw a tear fall from her face. Gently, he wiped it away with his tail.

Nightfire was one of the few cats who understood him. Blackheart growled lowly and listened to the cats talking about Gracesong's brother. He bolted out of camp in search for the cat.
