All the hairs on Fawnpaws pelt stood as she heard the wails coming from her fellow clan member. She screeched for Nightfrost and and began racing towards the source of the yell.
Mothpaw's bones locked. She opened her mouth slightly to drink in Ebonycloud's sweet scent. She recalled his head nudging her up... how magical it had felt... Her whiskers twitched with delight. She shook awake from her daydream when Ebonycloud gave a soft, rumbing purr as a gentle reminder. Gingerly, Mothpaw crouched on her dainty paws that camoflauged with the fresh snowfall. She shifted her weight carefully to her hind quarters and stealthily slunk through the knee-deep snow. Her nose burned with cold and she shivered, but she thought her stalk was splendid. She plopped down in the snow after going about six trout-lengths and tilted her head eagerly to her mentor. Her beaming, dazzling smile could warm the sickest polar bear's heart.
As Fawnpaw entered the den she gave a quick shudder in remembrance of the scream and looked around for the cat that was in need of help but she saw no one. Perhaps she thought They could be in the shadows But She could sent nothing
Ebonyclud blinked twicce before realizing a soft grin was spreading across his face. "Great job," he purred, "You have the makings of a great warrior in you." He had watched her the whole time. She had made no mistakes this time. She was a fast learner and Ebonycloud was glad of that. The corner of his lip pulled back, giving way to his shy crooked smile.
She gave another howl for nightfrost and began to look around, perhaps the cat was not here and she had misinterpreted the place of the howl. She shivered and began to step out of the cave so she could go look for Nightfrost, but just as she stepped out a giant icicle fell to her right, the point landed just a mouse length away from her, but the icicle grazed her fur. The icicle was so frightening she almost toppled over.
Mothpaw's heart melted at Eboycloud's crooked smile she loved. Best of all, it was directed at her. She shyly scuffed her paws in the snow, shadowing a sly, careful grin. "Thanks." she purred, blushing. Ebonycloud's friendly eyes sank into her.
