Will Dolpha's destiny be forfilled, and how? Can a simple misunderstanding change everything for Dolpha and the destiny that he feels suits him perfectly?
Prologue
The small brown wolf puppy stumbled out of the den. He still didn't have a name, his mother, Koda, the Alphaess, kept in mind as she examined him closely as he walked around for the first time, curious and cautious but, like his siblings, he was trying to get to his paws as soon as he was able to. His siblings had already been named: Rudolf, Lyall, Quinn, and Lovel. But his mother couldn't pick out a suitable name for the only little dark brown wolf of the litter, with a unique personality. All the wolf puppies had unique personalities, of course, but this one was always quite dominant, more dominant than just a typical wolf puppy. The brown puppy ran to where the Alpha stood, and let out an attempt at a howl. Still, it was quite a good try for such a young puppy. Another wolf close by stopped and chuckled. "Thinks he's Alpha all ready? As long as he doesn't start bossing us around like one," she said, then carried on walking, still smiling at the puppy's silly behavior. But the brown puppy's mother had more than just that going through her mind. Everything seemed to fit together-his unusually strong dominance, his howling like an Alpha.. "Was I like an Alpha?" the little pup said, rushing up. She looked down at him, her thoughts had been cut off by his words, but they just fed to them, especially since the puppy looked almost serious, more than he looked energetic or proud of himself. "Yes," she said finally. She added, "And I've chosen a name for you. The Alpha, your father, wants me to examine you and your siblings about who will be chosen to be Alpha after him. I feel like you are a good choice. I am naming you Dolpha, meaning 'noble wolf' because when your time comes to be Alpha, you will carry on many generations of great leaders, and be a loyal and noble one that will be remembered in wolves for generations to come after your time as Alpha."
Dolpha looked shocked, but his expression also filled with pride.
"Alpha! Dolpha the Alpha! Wow, I can't believe this!" he said happily. Koda smiled to herself. She groomed the puppy's soft brown fur gently. "Yes, and now it's time you and your siblings get to the den and start going to sleep," she said, as her other puppies began walking toward her. They wento to the den and curled up by Koda in the back of the cave.
As the weeks ran on, Dolpha was nearly grown. His pelt had darkened to a black, and he had looked up to his father and took in everything he said to learn to be the great Alpha that he was given his name to be, while his siblings only hunted with the rest of the pack and did typical duties like that. On this particular day, his father did not hunt with the rest of the pack, and instead called Dolpha into his den. Dolpha nodded greeting politely as he entered the den, and his father began speaking when he was settled in. "Dolpha, as a leader when you get older, there's things you have to know when making decisions for the whole pack. You must help others who are in need of help and can be helped without harm being caused to others and without breaking our ways. Always make sure there is enough food for the pack, and territory. You must have an Alphaess. The Alpha and Alphaess have the pups in the pack, the Beta and Betaess help care for the puppies, and the Omega is the bottom rank, the last to eat. Everyone else are just members of the pack. Keep pack traditions. We will talk about pack traditions later. And the last rule I will tell you today, but one of the most important: never, ever help humans," the Alpha, Atticus, said. Dolpha nodded, and Atticus dismissed him. Dolpha thought about the rules carefully as he waited for the pack to come back with food, taking them in. Atticus had mentioned there would be more lessons, so Dolpha had to remember them, they would be important for making great decisions. When the pack came back, he thought he might be scared seeing how many of them there were. He had lived with them his whole life, of course, but now that he had just learned just a few of the important rules, it would be hard knowing that many wolves would eventually rely on him. But when the pack came back, he felt more powerful, more confident, and happy that he would eventually have the oportunity to guide them and lead them through everything. As Atticus came out of his den to eat first, Dolpha felt even more pride, knowing that would someday be him, walking proudly out of his den.
