Kumiko felt a strange pang of jealousy as the blonde walked away. "I-it's okay," she said hesitantly. "Um...yeah. I'm fine working on the report alone." She forced a smile, her mind still on the blonde. What was that all about?..."Maddix? Who was that girl?" she asked, gesturing toward where the girl had walked away.

"Okay cool if you insist"he smiled and looked away then heard her question "Who Jessika? She's the Dance Team leader" Maddix said. "She was thanking me for helping her move some amps for the pep rally Thursday"he said honestly. "Why?" he asked then noticed her reactions and everything thats happened that morning. His chair dropped to the floor and he put his head on the table "Stupid stupid stupid"he whispered then was still. "Hey Kumiko I'll be right back I have to get something. Don't get lost okay?"he brushed past her and then walked outside the cafeteria. He walked over to his skateboard adn sat down. he opened his phone and made a call. It took him less than three minutes and then he walked back into the cafeteria. Maddix was on his way back to Kumiko when a tall brunette came up to him. She was intending to flirt with him but he said something in her ear and she nodded "Of course"she said and he smiled at her. he walked back to Kumiko "I swear...Maybe if I grew a mustage then shaved it off. Think that would help?"he asked

"I...I don't know," Kumiko said quietly. She had seen the girl walk up to Maddix. "You know, if you want to go talk to one of them..." she waved her hand at the groups of girls around them. "Instead of me, go ahead. I...I won't mind." Her voice broke slightly and she looked away. "It won't bother me."

Maddix looked like a sad five year old and he threw his arms around Kumiko "If I wanted to talk to them. I would have stayed and talked with Anna but instead I told her that I had a chest cold and could talk very well. If I wanted to talk to Jessika I would have offered to move more amps but I didn't"he said "If I wanted to talk to them you would be sitting here alone watching me and I would never do that my lady friend"he said hugging her. "Pwease don't be sad"he said in a five year old voice.

Kumiko put her arms around Maddix in return for a moment, then let them drop. "Alright," she said quietly, noticing how he had called her his 'lady friend...' but Kumiko had detected the "friend" in there.

Maddix let his hug stop "I'm sorry I keep upsetting you and that I can't make you happy but at the same time I'm happy because that means that you aren't like the other girl."he said and got up "I don't seem to be helping here so i'm going to go. Sorry again Kumiko"he said and left the cafeteria. He headed towards the gym and through his stuff down and sat in a corner reading New Moon his favorite book of all time.

Lexi sighed and saw what time it is , " Ahhh... " she ran to her closet and grabbed her jean blue skiny jeans and a white and black shirt dress and then her black Roxy jacket. She put it on and slid into her black hightops. SHe also grabbed her school bag which had stars on it. " Bye Mom!!!!!! I'm leaving.... " she said in her Austrailan accent. She smiled and grabbed her skateboard and ran out of the door.

Maddix was trying to read but his mind was stuck on Kumiko. 'Does it hurt her feelings when I talk to the other girls? But that's how I've always been, why should it just now affect her? Or has it always been this way and I was just so wrapped up in my own life that I didn't notice. Or did I just not care? No I don't think thats is' all this was running through his mind and then he asked himself "Why do I care so much? I mean she's my best lady friend but could she be more? Could she want to be more? Does my breath really smell like mints" he didn't realize he had said the last things aloud. He put his book back in his pbackpack and layed down.

Kumiko cursed under her breath in anger at herself. I know he doesn't like me as more than his 'lady friend,' she thought slowly. And I know ...or at least I think, that I like him more than a friend... She sighed out loud. But does he know that? Even if he did, I doubt it would make any difference...

Maddix wanted to go back to Kumiko but he didn't want her to feel uncomfortable so he just sat there by himself until Jessika came up to him. "Hey Maddix"she said smiling and sitting down next to him crossing her legs. "I saw you leaving the cafeteria and wanted to make sure you were okay."she said "Yeah I'm fine did the girl I was sitting with look upset when I left?"he asked before he could stop "That weird chick? Whats her name Kimiko or kikyo or whatever?"she said absently. Maddix looked at her with narrowed eyes "She is not weird adn her name is Kumiko"he said "I'm sorry Maddix but I didn't really pay attention. Maybe,"she said
