This is the Song Lyric Discussion Thread! Come post your favorite lyrics and if you'd like, explain why you love them so much, or post lyrics that confuse you so that others can try to figure out what the song means!
Here are some of my favorites:
I know the world's a broken bone, but melt your headaches, call it home. [Northern Downpour; Panic at the Disco] -One of my favorites ever... if the world's a broken bone (I love that comparison first of all), it means the world might heal, as broken bones do. And no matter how twisted it may be, it's always home..
In the end it's me you're gonna miss, 'cause you won't find this. [You Won't Find This; Carrie Underwood] -A lot of the reason you like certain lyrics is because of one thing: relation. The more you relate to the lyric, the more value it has to you. And I relate very well with this. Or I WILL relate rather well with this. Basically saying that you can choose her, but you will never find somebody as unique as me and you're missing out.
So make the best of this test and don't ask why. It's not a question but a lesson learned in time. [Good Riddance (Time of Your Life); Green Day] -An experience on another forum made me realize the lesson in this song. And once you realize it, you will love this song forever. It's very hard to explain unless you have an example, though. But basically, love what you've got. Because one day it may be gone, and it's just a lesson learned over time. Make the best of it.
I don't love you. I'm just passing the time. You could love me if I learned how to lie. But who could love me? I am out of my mind. Throwing a line out to sea to see if I can catch a dream. [She Had the World; Panic at the Disco] -This just sounds cool and I like the "But who could love me" part.
It was tonight everybody agreed I was wrong about you. I told them you were being so strong. I knew you were a liar, I knew you were a liar from the start (x2) Don't treat me like you're playing a game 'cause baby I don't wanna lose, baby I don't wanna risk it all for you. [Heregoesnothin; Nevershoutnever!] That is sheer brilliance from a young boy. And I relate so freaking well. This is another one of my favorite lyrics ever. This is very hard to explain considering my love life is a complicated example, but if you ever figure it out, tell me. But in my case, the playing the game part is him playing hard to get, and I don't want to risk my whole life and all my amazing friends just to get to him. Even though he's popular and I'm not. Everybody tried to convince me out of it at the early stage, but I told them all the great things, you were being so strong...
" She wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts She's cheer captian and I'm on the bleachers Dreamin about te day where you'll wake up and find... that what your lookin for has been here the whole time "

"I've been alone when I'm surrounded by friends" From Ave Maria by Beyonce.
I relate to that line SO perfectly. Don't wanna go into it too much cuz it's a little personal, but this line is part of the reason I'm depressed right now. I love that song SO much.
"When the rain would fall down, I'd just stare out my window...Dreaming of what could be, and if I'd end up happy, I would pray" From Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson.
I do this all the time. Just sitting there, staring, thinking. "Dreaming of what could be" especially. Literally. Nearly every night, I dream about something that I know could almost never happen, but it's possible. Dreaming that I could...never mind. ._.;
Mine: Taylor Swift: Love Story "Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run, You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess, It's a LOVE STORY, baby just say yes"

"Tell me tell me tell me somthin i dont know somthin i dont know How many inches in a mile what it takes to make you smile get you not to treat me like, a child baby" Tell me something i dont know by selena gomez
"I want to scream I love you from the top of my lungs But I'm afraid that someone else will hear me. You can blame your problems on the world for so long. Before it all becomes the same old song. As soon as we hit the hospital I know we're gonna leave this town. And keep new passports. Get out now!"
- The (Shipped) Gold Standard by Fall Out Boy.
I love this song so much. This group always comes up with the best songs, and I can related to more than half of them. I consider this one, kind, well, my theme song.

Humm.. I really like the whole song, called, The Shallow Sea, written by no famous artist. I typed the lyrics to the whole song >.>
The Shallow Sea, by Celtic Spirit:
Washed upon the shorline, The dying sailor told, Of riches unbelieving, And a gaelleon of gold.
The greedy and the hungry, Charged 40 men or more, To rescue treasures from the sea, And bring them back to shore. They cried aloud to do their best, And find the stricken ship, On the Shallow Sea~
The day was growing darker, So the 40 men agreed, To take the task in morning light, And sail on kinder seas. But the villagers grew restless, And back they went that night, And swore they saw, A golden mast, Sinking out of sight.
Historical, Hysteria, Carried them aboard, To the Shallow Sea~
Chorus: Waaaaaah, Say Halleluiah, Say Halleluiiaah, Say Halleluiahs for us all,
Say Halleluiahs, Say Halleluiahs, Say Halleluiahs save us all, Save us all~ *End Chorus* On the beachline people waited, And caught behind their breath, Talked about the life they had, And the one that lay ahead. No one even noticed, And no one seemed to care, That the body of the sailor boy, Wasn't even there.
The minds and hearts of everyone, Sailed across the tide, To the Shallow Sea~
Chorus
*extended period of music*
The village still is waiting, And a light shines even now, For 40 men, a golden ship, and the mercy God allows. And the people still remember, A generation lost, They say their prayers for the riches there, And all the riches cost. Someswhere they still hear the sea, Across the island bay, To the Shallow Sea~
Chorus
*pretty ending music*
I don't know why, but I just love that song. It sticks to me o-o
