Introduction Think you're ready to adopt a virtual pet? First you must read this guide on virtual pets, including how to care for them, what you can do with them, how to get one, how to give one, and anything and everything else you need to know about virtual pets.
Here are the virtual pets that you can adopt:
Warrior Cats: These are special cats, only available to Clan members, which can be mentored. Scroll down to see how to mentor them.
Cats(including large wild cats, like lions and tigers): These cats are the ideal pet. Regular cats will sit on your lap contently, and need nothing more than an occasional light head scratch, and some food and water open to them at all times. Wild cats need a little more attention, like large toys that resemble natural wild instinct, like hunting.
Dogs(including wolves and coyotes): Dogs need walks, feedings, and water. They need toys, and lots of attention. They will also need excercise and training. This all applies to all types of dog.
Frogs: Frogs need a nice pond to swim in, and some food.
Horses/Ponies: You can ride horses and ponies, and they need food, water, and occasional treats as well.
Giving Adoptables You can have the oppurtunity to let people adopt virtual pets from you if you have at least 350 posts and read this whole thread. To make an adoptable thread, you must follow certain standards, though. Your thread must: -Contain a link to this thread (so people are sure to know how to care for a virtual pet) -Have a form for others to fill out if they wish to adopt, asking for information like what they wish to name their pet(you may name the pets in your adoption thread, but they can rename it and reserve the right to do so). -Only have animals certified as acceptable virtual animals: Warrior cats, Cats (tigers, lions, and other large wild cats also qualify) and dogs (wolves and coyotes also qualify). If the animal you want to put up for adoption is not listed here, then you can put the animal you want up for adoption, but you'll have to create the care and activities information like the pre-set animals(warrior cats, cats, dogs, frogs, horses) have, and post it on this thread and your adoption thread, so the care and activities are very easily accessible. -Provide information for every pet, for example, a nickname you named it, the type of pet, age, etc. -Stay active. If it is not active for over ten days, it will be closed, because we can not allow too many adoptable threads if they are inactive. They will be moved to the Archived board. If you are absent for sickness or vacation, then it is your responsibility to post a quick note explaining your absence before the absence, as you do not know that people will post while you are gone. This rule is only for adopted pet threads, not actual adoption centers. -You must be kind and courteous to your guests. Mods will watch over threads to see how you treat customers, and if you do not treat them optimistically and proffesionally, we will close your thread. -For every pet, you must have a picture, drawn by YOU, or photographed by YOU, for each pet you have. This is so you or Warrior Cats: The Four Clans is not tangled in the copyright of using pictures from Google or any other source that is not you.
Adopting a Virtual Pet: You can adopt up to 5 virtual pets. To adopt a virtual pet, first decide what you want from the list of virtual pets at the top of the page. Once you've decided, you can browse the places open for adoption until you choose a pet and adoption thread. If you like an adoption thread but don't see your pet, or a pet you like, then you can ask if they will add more of your pet soon. Once you've chosen a pet, fill out the required adoption form. You will soon be notified by the thread owner about your pet. Once you adopt it, you can create a thread for it, and then do fun activities with it.
Activities: Warrior Cats: Now that you have your Warrior cat, you can mentor it. Once you have completed an activity, post what it requires on your Warrior Cat's thread. When you have finished all the activites, PM Tabbystripe and tell her your cat's name and a link to your thread so she can check that you have accomplished all the activities. If you are a warrior, to mentor your apprentice into becoming a warrior, you must complete the following activites: Have your apprentice clean out the Elders' den: First, pick out a picture of what your elder's den looks like. You may draw this den, too, if you'd like. Then, choose a character from the Warriors series that is/was an Elder. Then, find a picture of a cat that looks like this character, or draw a picture of this character.
Have your apprentice catch his first piece of prey: Depending on what Clan your in, do some research on what food your Clan eats(that no other Clan does), then find a picture of one of the foods.
Teach your apprentice how to fight in a battle: To do this, choose a battle move described in the books and describe it in your own words(post the description of the battle move as it was in the book as well, with the book and page number).
If you are a medicine cat, to mentor your apprentice into becoming a medicine cat, you must complete the following activites: Teach your apprentice the names of all the herbs and what they're used for: To do this, you must read this list of the herbs from the Warriors series and what they're used for:
Alder Bark Best used for toothaches, it is only mentioned once in Forest of Secrets. As far as I know, anyways. (pg 84, Forest of Secrets)
Catmint
Used to treat blackcough, greencough and whitecough, catmint can also help to relax a cat. When Bluestar was sick with greencough in Fire and Ice, Yellowfang sent Fireheart to fetch some catmint to help cool their leaderÂs fever.(pg ??, Fire and Ice)
Chamomile
Used to calm cats and to give them physical strength, Yellowfang and Cinderpelt mixed some into her traveling herbs for and agitated Bluestar in Rising Storm. (pg 52, Rising Storm)
Chervil
This white-flowered plant has several different propertices. The plant itself can be used to treat infected wounds while the root is best for bellyache.Cinderpelt quizzes Leafpaw on her knowledge of this plant in Midnight.(pg 109, Midnight)
Cobwebs
ItÂs common knowledge that cobwebs are used to stop bleeding, but thereÂs a quote anyway in The Darkest Hour when Runningnose uses cobwebs to heal BlackfootÂs injuries. (pg 298, The Darkest Hour)
Dock Leaves
Best for making a catÂs coat as slippery as a fish, Feathertail and Tawnypelt used it to save Squirrelpaw from a clinging fence in Midnight.(pg 205, Midnight)
Horsetail
The sap of horsetail can be used in combination with cobwebs to stop bleeding, like when Cinderpelt used it on Thornpaw in Rising Storm. (pg 194, Rising Storm)
Poppy Seeds
The best herb there is to numb pain and ensure a good nightÂs sleep, Cinderpelt gave some to Speckletail to help the old queen cope with the loss of her final kit, Snowkit.(pg 101, A Dangerous Path)
Thyme
Thyme has a sharp scent that soothes even the most agitated cat.Mothwing brought some for Leafpaw and Sorreltail after they had a bad scare when WindClan attacked them in Moonrise.(pg 55, Moonrise)
Watermint
A good treatment for bellyache, Cinderpelt and Leafpaw used it to heal some elders who had drunk tainted water in Starlight.(pg 42, Starlight)
Then you must pass this quiz: What are poppy seeds used for?
What is horsetail used with to stop bleeding?
What is alder bark used for?
What is catmint used for?
What is the root of chervil used for?
To pass this quiz, you must get four out of five right, or you'll have to retake the quiz.
Teach your apprentice how to deal with patients:To do this, write a paragraph minimum of a story on how you would treat this cat, both to heal them and to be kind and compassionate with them. Use first-person roleplay format. A young apprentice, named Fourpaw, has just come back on his first hunting patrol. He got a thorn stuck in his pad and it is bleeding and hurts. He is scared, though you know the thorn is painful, but not at all close to fatal. Every time you try to take the thorn out, he gets scared and won't let you. Calm the apprentice down some how, and then treat his paw.
Choose you and your apprentice's den: To do this, you must find or draw picture of what your den looks like, and then a picture of you and your apprentice together(also may be drawn if you'd like).
House cats: For house cats, all you need is to keep food and water for them, and give them the occasional head scratch. Here's the list of activities:
Food and Water: To get food and water for your cat, draw or take your own picture of a food and water bowl. Do not steal a picture. Give your cat toys: To do this, just draw toys, like a ball of yarn or a small stuffed mouse, and post it in your thread. Wild Cats: For wild cats, you also need food or water, but also need to keep your wild cat entertained. Food: To do this, find out what your wild cat eats, and draw a picture, or you can get a picture you took at a zoo, and post it. Entertainment: To do this, draw a picture of something like a tire or tree that is big enough to keep your wild cat entertained. Like above, you can also take a picture from a zoo, so long as it's your picture.
House Dogs: For house dogs, more work is involved, as in real dogs. Food and Water: Draw or take a picture of a dog water bowl, so long as the picture is yours. Take your dog on a walk: To do this, you must draw or take a picture of your virtual dog's leash, so long as the picture is yours. Then, you must write a description of your walk, like where you went. Give your dog toys: To do this, draw or take a picture of the toy you wish to give your dog. Dogs love to be entertained and surprised, so get them new toys every once in a while.
Wild Dogs: Wild dogs need slightly different lifestyles. Food: For this, find the food your wild dog would eat in the wild. Then draw, or use a picture you took at a zoo, this animal. Entertainment: For this, find out what habitat your wild dog usually lives in. Then draw, or use a picture you took, this habitat. For example, if your species of wild dog lives in the forest, then draw a picture or use a picture (that's yours) of a forest.
Frogs:Frogs are simple pets, who like to just hop around or take a swim. Food: Find out what your frog eats, then draw or take a picture of this food. Habitat: Your frog needs a pond for it's habitat, too. It can be big or small, but just draw or take a picture of this pond you'd like.
Horses/Ponies: You have the oppurtunity to ride your horse or pony if you have one. Food: Find out what your horse or pony eats as a meal, like hay or another food, and draw or take a picture of that. Water: Draw or take a picture of a water trough. Ride Your Horse: To ride your horse, draw or take a picture of the saddle you want.
Note: For all virtual pets, you do not need to complete these activities, but if YOU do not post on your thread for over two weeks, unless you post a note saying oyur on vacation or sick BEFORE the absence, we will take back your pet. If you have multiple virtual pets and do not post on any of their threads for over two weeks without a note on EVERY one of their threads, we will take them all back.
Do you have a photobucket? If not, I suggest either getting one at photobucket.com or if you're not an active uploader, i suggest tinypic.com. Both those sites allow you to upload pictures and they support you with a number of links. You should use the link that says it's for forums. ;) Hope I helped! :D
Please do not post on the Archived board. If you had read the board description underneath the board you would have known not to do this. Also do not reply to this post on this board either. Thank you!
