Chapter 5 Thornpaw sighed. "Snow just has to fall the moment you DON'T want it..." he said to himself. Snow had a lot of bad things to it. One, it makes you cold, for the obvious part. Two, all the prey hide in spots to keep safe and it's hard to catch prey. Three, if your trying to find a clan, in Thornpaw's point of view, the snow covers the the tracks. Thornpaw rolled his eyes, cursed under his breath, and ran, following the tracks. Pretend that a bomb is gonna go off in any minute, and I'm running for my life! Thornpaw kept saying to himself. Run! Thornpaw tripped sometimes, but kept his little mind trick. "A bomb... is gonna.. go off-- and I'll die any - time!" he panted. Finally, Thornpaw reached a spot where he was so tired he would do anything, but get up and run. He closed his eyes for a second, not caring about the snow, his surroundings, the clans, nothing. Suddenly, in his ear, he heard Poppystar whisper. "Remember your promise!" She whispered. "Your doing great... don't stop now!" Thornpaw's eyes opened quickly and he jumped onto his feet. "I'm not gonna give up!" he said, disapointed in himself. "I'll never give up, until my heart stops beating!" Slowly, he followed the snow tracks.
Thornpaw sighed slowly again and padded across the snow tracks. He stared intently, but didn't see anymore tracks. He bent his head down, and didn't smell any of the clans. "Mouse dung!" he cursed. Suddenly, his nostril flared and it lwed him to his right. There was a huge moss-covered cave, which smelled like clan cats. Thornpaw's heart missed a beat. "Is it them?" he asked. "Please let it be!!!" He jumped to the cave and pushed through the moss-covered door. Suddenly, hundereds of beady eyes stared at him. A cat stepped up, and Thornpaw recongnized her as Leafstar. "Who are you?" she asked coldly. Thornpaw smiled. "I- I'm Thornpaw. Thornpaw from DawnClan... or what was DawnClan. It's a long story... I guess I'll have to tell you." he sat down, and the clan cats sat down along with him. "We're ready!" Leafstar called. Thornpaw nodded curtly and cleared his throat.
