OOC: Whoa, I hadn't even realized that the frightenees were exactly the same as your characters. XP

IC Orvaia:
"..." Orvaia said, watching the Toad kid bouncing around. When he did not stop, he added, in a raised voice, "I SAID '...'!"
That seemed to grab their attention, as both the Yoshi and the Toad looked quizzically at him.
He found it rather odd that the two were not screaming in terror from a mixture of his attempt to frighten them, and the fact that, as a Duplighost, most would automatically affiliate him with the Koopa Troop.
"Yes, I believe I'm supposed to be searching for these pages as well," he said. "And I also believe that I have, in fact, been drafted for an adventure. Though I find that unfair - no one else got drafted-"
"I did!" a passing Little Mouser called, waving a similar letter to Orvaia's as he entered a nearby shop.
"- And no one else was against their will-"
"Why do I have to go on this stupid adventure, anyway? I'm a thief - I shouldn't have to help people!" a Ruff Puff, coincidentally passing by, complained aloud.
"I appear to stand corrected," Orvaia said. noting his rambling, he continued. "Anyway, I... am..."

As he talked he covered his face, using his abilities to hover in the air for a moment, before, in a flash of light, saying, "Orvaia!"
In the bush he was in before, a cricket chirped. When no applause sounded, he drifted back to his feet, muttering, "Tough crowd..."
"Aaaanyway," he said awkwardly. "Even though I don't travel in groups, I have a bit of advice: You might want to stock up on items before you leave. You know, with the Koopa Troop's ferocity and all. Ciao!"
With that, he back flipped away, towards the shop.

OOC:
Sorry for the length of that bit - I got carried away with Orvaia's personality. XD

IC Dacres: The Ninja Koopa was silent as he leaped from tree to tree, keeping an eye on the passerbys. Any one of these Koopas, Goombas, or even the idiotic Clubbas, even though they were on the same side, could potentially attack him in an attempt to lower their competition. He knew that, during the famous Mario's searches, his enemies had constantly grouped together, usually two or three in one group, though there were several instances where he had been attacked by five beings at once. And he also knew that since that time, rules had changed - as such, though it was unlikely, he could potentially be attacked by as many as ten enemies at one time.
Distracted by his musings, the Ninja Koopa did not notice a Piranha Plant that had spotted him in his position. It smiled devilishly, alerting its two companions - two Monty Moles - to their "ally."

Their reaction was immediate. The larger of the Moles burrowed underground, grabbing a large rock. Brigning it back to the surface, it hruled it at the tree, breaking the branch and knocking the Koopa to the ground. Dacres, shocked by this surprise attack, could not stop his fall, though he was able to retreat into his protective shell at the last moment. Once he landed, he spun himself around, launching his body at the group, scattering htem as he hit the Mole that had attacked. Then he jumped back into a tree, drawing several throwing daggers.
"This should be fun," he muttered.

OOC: Also, I've just added coins into the mix. Each player will start out with 100 coins, and they will be used to pay for items, badges and other services that require coins. Coins can be earned by defeating enemies on the road. By doing so, they will flee, accidentally leaving 10 to 20 coins as they do so.
Finally, I'll keep track of your coins on the profiles post, so don't worry about it until you go to a shop of some sort. =)

IC: Tekar walked along the path in the woods, excited to be helping the great King Koopa. He carried his mighty war hammer proudly, hoping to find something he could smash. After walking for a few minutes he got bored and chose a random tree to strike. The was a loud crunch as the hammer smashed through the bark. Tekar pulled away the hammer to see a waffle-like imprint oozing sap on the trunk of the tree.
Looks like a waffle with syrup. He thought. His stomach growled and the Koopa tasted some of the sap. He quickly spit it out when he discovered that it didn't tast very good.
"Should've grabbed something to eat before I left." He said to himself as his stomach growled again.

OOC: Lol!

Demonstration for item buying.

IC Orvaia: Orvaia entered the shop, looking around at the large shelves. He knew he would need items on his journey, though he did not know exactly what would be most useful.
"Going on an adventure?" the shopkeeper asked. When Orvaia nodded, he said, "You're the fifth one today! Come on over - I know just what you could use."
Orvaia followed the man over to the front counter. There were several Mushrooms, a couple of Fire Flowers and several other similar items, as well as several large bags on the back wall.
"I want one of those first," he said, pointing to a bag. "You know, to carry all of this stuff easier."
The shopkeeper nodded, grabbing one and placing it on the counter. "I would suggest a couple of mushrooms, myself, and one of those fire flowers."
"All right," Orvaia said. When his bag had been filled - three mushrooms, a fire flower and a jug of honey syrup - the shopkeeper gave the prices.
"That'll be nine coins for the mushrooms, four for the fire flower and three for the honey," he said. "And another ten for the bag. So that's 26 coins in total."
Orvaia handed the coins over, and then turned to leave.
"Good luck on your quest!" the shopkeeper called. Orvaia nodded back, and then was out the door.

IC Dacres: Dacres rolled under the Piranha plant, throwing a throwing dagger into its vine. The beaten plant growled in frustration, before collapsing, defeated. That left the two Monty Moles.
One of them jumped out of the ground, charging at him with his claws. Dacres ran backward, running halfway up a tree before doing a backflip behind him, kicking him in the back. The Mole responded with a swipe at his feet, which he blocked with his sword. A quick double kick dispatched of his enemy, leaving the last Mole. Seeing as how he was outmatched, the half-traitor turned and fled. Dacres, smiling, slid his sword back into place, retrieving his knives.
"That'll teach you to mess with the real Koopa Troops," he said spitefully, picking up the eight coins that the fleeing Mole had left behind. Turning back to the path, he continued on to Goomba village, where he suspected several pages to be hiding.

IC: Tekar continued down the path in the forest until he came across a beaten up Pirahna plant. He carefully manuevered around the plant. Even though it was lying down, the plant could still have some fight left in it. A mole lay not too far from the plant, it appeared to be unconcious.
"Wonder who mauled these guys." He said to himself, pulling out Waffle.

OOC: It pulls off a narrow survival, closely avoiding death!

IC: Merlux studied the page carefully, uttering spells as he walked around it. It had remained still for quite a while, ever since they had found it. Yet, he could sense lingering magic about it...
To his surprise, the page began to glow, its light shining west. That was the direction of Goomba Village... Immediately, he made his way over to the King's quarters, noting that the heroes would need to know where to go if they wished to acquire the page before Bowser's forces.
"Sir," he said, bowing as he entered the room. "The Page of Daeja has just revealed the location of its next sibling. It's in Goomba Village, just west of here.
"Excellent, Merlux!" King Dothe said. "Have the messengers send word out immediately."

IC: As one, the Mailbox SPs of all of the Mushroom Kingdom's adventurers rang as they received the message. Opening it, they read what new information had been given to them:

To the adventurers of the Mushroom Kingdom,

By Order of King Dothe, any adventurer willing enough is to make their way to Goomba Village, just west of Toad Town square. A page has made its pressence known, and it is crucial that you retrieve it before the Koopa Troop discovers that it is hidden there.

Captain of the Guard,
Gar D.

IC: Orvaia looked at the message with boredom. Sure, he could go now, but whta would be the point? Surely some other adventurers would have found it before he even arrived, right? Though, there was also the fact that whoever found the page first would be subject to rewards... and more magic!

Determined, he headed out towards the square, before turning west and leaving town. This was going to be easy. Srue, the path was full of thugs, but they were lower-class. Heck, Mario could defeat loads of them even at level one! What would stop him, a Duplighost who was the master of disguise and magic, from sending a couple of chumps flying?

Would it be those Goombas eyeing him angrily? Or that shady Koopa in the bush? Heck, it would probably end up being that red and black Koopatrol holding a hammer. Either way, one question rang through his mind as he walked:
Why is there a waffle mark on that tree?

IC: Meanwhile, Dacres had reached the village. As soon as he was seen by the guards, two Goombas rushed out to stop him from entering. He grabbed his sword, holding it aloft in warning.
"I will conduct my search here whether you like it or not," he growled. "By Order of His Mightyness, King Bowser Jr."

He was not, however, able to stop the distress signal that rang through the path to Toad Town, alerting the Mushroom Kingdom's warriors of the village's new problem, and causing Dacres, however much he detested it, to signal for the Koopa Troop forces on the path to help secure the village.

IC: Once Tekar reached the Goomba Village, he raised his hammer and shouted as loud as he could "Surrender now or be crushed by the mighty forces of King Bowser Jr.!"
The Goomba's ignored the Koopatrol's shout and charged towards him and the other Koopa.
"I was hoping they would be intimidated by Waffle..." He said to no one in particular.

IC: Dacres raised an eyebrow, looking at his fellow Koopa Troop member. "You named that thing waffle?"
Shaking his head, he turned back to the Goombas, of which there were six, hurling a throwing dagger at one. He managed to daze it, though the others soon replaced it, advancing. Behind him, Dacres could hear the marching of either more Koopa Troops or Mushoom Kingdom warriors - he didn't have time to check.
"Be ready, minion," he uttered to the Koopatrol next to him degradingly. Such armor-clad Koopas were lowly underlings of Bowser - unlike he, the trained assassin, who had been taught to take out the highest profiled targets.

IC: Orvaia chackled madly, seeing that the Koopatrol had been a part of the Koopa Troop... unsurprisingly. Rising up, he flew forward, slamming into the Ninja koopa and the Koopatrol's backs, knocking them forward.
"Hellooooo!" he said spookily, waving his arms in a spooky manner. "Watch this!!"
Before the Koopa Troops eyes, he transformed into the hammer-wielding Koopa, jumping forward and slamming it into the ground.
"KOOPA TROOPA SUPA ATTACK...AH!" he shouted, laughing.
