"Oh sure you could. I bet you can't be a waiter though." She picked up all the plates on the table and started stacking them on his arms. "Oh, and don't forget the silverware." She giggled as she put all the forks and knives on too.

"If that was meant to be comforting, it was not."
"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
Kayden laughed. "No problem," he said, balancing the plates. He took them to the top of the trashcan that said, "Thank you for bussing your own tables." He loaded the plates and silverware onto the shelf - then, one single fork clattered to the ground. "Dang it!" he cried, picking up the fork and setting it on the pile. He strode back to the table. "You win," he said to Lucia. He picked up his white paper napkin and twirled it in the air like a surrender flag.
Lucia laughed, "I told you you couldn't be a waiter. Hang on, I need an apron." She stood up and dashed over to the restroom, but instead of going into it, she turned early and jumped into the kitchen. "S'cuse me, I'm new here, where are the aprons kept?" she asked a stocky man working at a stove. "Back there," he growled in a deep voice. "Thanks!" Lucia took one and tied it around, pulling off a name badge and putting it on her Starbucks shirt. She walked out with a big round tray and began at the table next to her groups'. "Done with this?" she asked a little girl with a burger in front of her. The girl nodded eagerly and Lucia took the plate, also taking the plates that were handed to her. She balanced it neatly, and as she swooped past her own table, she said, "My sister was a waitress." She continued picking up plates and then her real waitress stopped her as she was going back into the kitchen. "Who are you?" the waitress asked. "I'm new here, just trying it out." Lucia replied quickly and swooped past, into the kitchen. "Why is she so good at it?" The waitress murmured to herself.

George laughed. he was glad he let himself off early that day instead of staying to make sure theOwn was in line. He really was having a blast. He'd ordered a burget and fries, taking the top bun off and putting ketchup all over the plate. He grabbed the last handful of fries just as Kayden took his plate.
Once they were all done, George stood up. "Well, I think I'll be off then. You guys have plans for this afternoon?" He added as an afterthought, fixing his coat and pushing in his chair.

"Nope, nothing," replied Kayden, "except for my afternoon shift at work. Which reminds me..." he slid his phone out of his pocket. "I've gotta jet in like, 2 minutes." It was 3:20. He made a face. "I hate walking around here. I wish they'd hurry up and fix my skateboard...I took it to the shop, like, 3 days ago?" He sighed as he stood up. Doing a strange twirling dance, he sang loudly, "I feel so empty without wheels under my feet...like I've lost a part of my soul." He stopped dancing and put his hand dramatically over his heart, and the other on his forehead as if he was about to faint. Quickly straightening and pulling out of his act, he saluted the table in general. "See y'all later, alligators!" he called wildly as he leaped out the door of the diner. He couldn't help snickering at the appalled faces of the adults as he left.
ooc; Man, he is so like me. I would totally do that. I would so go out with this guy if he was real...
Shia laughed and took a bite out of his hamburger. "Be like me Kay and run." he said, his mouth full. He pushed his hair back, messing it up more. He watched as kayden left, then sighed and took another huge bit out of his hamburger. In 3 more bites, it was gone. Now he was stuffing his mouth with fries. He poured ketchup, then mustard and mixed it together. Then he started dipping the whole french fry in the sauce, completely drenching it. Shia snorted when he saw some uneasy looks on people's faces, then whispered to his group, "Da**-" he swore, "They eat weird."
" After while, crockadile! " Ash said, brightly, then she turned to Lucia, " You want to go with me to go get the puppy, now or latter? " Bolt sat in her lap and was sleeping, quietly. She picked up the puppy and stood up. The puppy only twitched it's leg and yawned. She closed her eyes and yawned. She shook her hair out of a ponytail and it swished down her backside with graceful ease.

Shia sighed. He stuffed the rest of the fries in his mouth and took the coke with him. He dumped 10 dollars on the table for tip and handed the waitress the bill money. "Keep all the change.." he said. Racing out the door, he followed Ash and Lucia. "You guys," he said, pointing to George and Hazel, "Stay here if ya want. I paid." He smiled a crooked smile, then raced after the girls.
Ash turned and saw Shia racing after them. She giggled and stoped, so he could catch up. Bolt yawned and streched in her arms. She put him down and pulled her scooter out of her bag. When Shia got close she said, " Had to see Bolt again, didn't you? " The puppy wagged it's stubby littile tail and barked a happy bark.
