Lucia nodded and braced herself to stand up. She stumbled lightly, the punches from that shade finally stinging, comeing back to feeling after that adrenaline rush. She used some of her remaining energy to get the breezes nearby to hold her up, just steadying her. She had to concentrate, they would have to go soon. She only needed them for as long as she could get upright and stay upright without stumbling. The fight seemed to be breaking up, the Shades disappearing more and more often.

"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
The Shades were disappearing...Kayden knew Lucia had to use the Air to stand up, he felt the slightest bit of wind rush toward her. He still transfered thoughts for nearly ten minutes more...then the Shades were gone, suddenly it seemed. Kayden let out a long sigh, breath that he seemed to have been holding the whole time.
"Finally...they're gone." Lucia looked around and spotted her skateboard, lying abandoned on the side, where she had thrown it as she joined the fight. "Come here...good skateboard." She laughed quietly as the breezes nudged the board over to her, letting it roll on its own after. She stopped it with her foot and sat down on it, looking at the battlefield. "I think we should go guys. Before the cops come. Ash wasn't here to hide us. We might need to change our looks." She was thinking about a haircut. Maybe nice, short, spiky, silver hair would look nice. She wouldn't know until she tried it.

Kayden glanced at Lucia, seeing what haircut she had in mind. "Adorable," he said, winking at her. "Go for it. I'm thinking about dying mine...maybe something cool, like...hmm..." A grin crept slowly across his face. "Oh, yeah, man. I'm gonna look amazing." He laughed cheerfully; the absence of the Shades gave him a slightly giddy feeling.
Lucia laughed. "How am I ever going to keep a surprise from you?" She shook her head and stood up, having regained a little energy. "Wanna hitch a ride? I'm heading back to the house, I'll get that haircut now, or I could take you to the Hallmark first if you need to work still. I know you had to ditch your shift." She kicked up her board, holding it, as if checking to see if it would hold two. It should. That was what boards were made for, wasn't it? Tricks. And riding double was definitely a trick.

Kayden grinned. "There are no secrets with me, it's true." He looked thoughtfully at her skateboard. "Man, I really miss my board," he sighed. "I want my baby back..." He smiled. "But if you could give me a ride to Hallmark, that would be excellent. My manager wasn't too happy...I probably have to work an extra hour tomorrow morning..."
"Ouch. Would you like a caramel rap to cheer you up?" She laughed, stepping on the board and waiting for him to get on too. His board should be done soon, maybe in the next day or two. But hey, friends were there for friends, and that always meant giving rides. Besides, it was fun. Lucia always found herself cheered up when she was around Kayden.

Kayden grinned as he stepped on the board behind Lucia. He put his hands gently on her waist to keep his balance; his chest was pressed against her back. "Well, this is cozy, isn't it," Kayden laughed, his mouth right next to her ear. "Maybe I can offer to work without payment today...hey, you know, it's only 45 minutes till Hallmark closes...if you wanna wait up for me there, we can go get our hair changed together?" He snickered and put his voice in a high falsetto, adding a valley girl accent. "I need a new 'do, girlfriiieeennnd!"
Lucia burst out laughing as she pushed the skateboard away. "Sure! Starbucks is right next door, I can go get you a caramel frap while I'm waiting?" She headed off to the market square/plaza where both their part-time jobs were, enjoying the wind pushing back her hair, which was still shoulder-length, so it did flap behind her, almost hitting Kayden. Skateboarding had been something she had been good at from the first time she had stepped on one. After all, she did get to zoom through her element, it made everything easier. She could go so much faster if she wanted to, especially when she was full of energy. Their jobs weren't too far from where the battle had been, and it did not take long for her to reach the parking lot. However, she found herself wanting to slow down, she didn't mind Kayden's arms around her waist. Of course, that was a friendly feeling, wasn't it?

As they reached the shopping center, Kayden slightly reluctantly removed his arms from Lucia's waist. He stepped off the board and faced Lucia, making a show of pulling and spitting her hairs out of his mouth. His eyes were sparkling with laughter, though; he didn't really mind. "Thanks a ton," he said. He pulled a ten-dollar bill out of his pocket and handed it to her. "Whip me up a caramel frap, will you, Miss Latte?" He winked. "And keep the change."
