"Only emotionally," Kayden muttered. "And mentally...ugh, that was exhausting," he sighed. "I didn't even control it...I didn't try to resist it but I don't think I could have, even if I tried...I have a headache," he said, making a face.
"Let's get you home. I'm sure we have some advil somewhere." She looked around. Bolt was over in the corner, smelling a pile of garbage. "Bolt! We're going home!" Bolt turned at her call and raced over. "Can you skateboard, or do you wanna ride on mine?" The breeze keeping an eye on the stranger in the alley suddenly dissipated, a move that was not her own. She cursed. "Kayden, I think there's a Shade nearby...let's go."

"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
"I can skateboard," Kayden said determinedly. His eyes narrowed at her words. "We shouldn't be out here...who knows how long I was-..." A faded shadow appeared at the end of the block. "Not good," Kayden muttered. No mortal would be out right now, the weather was so bad...there were barely even any cars on the street. We've gotta get out of here, Kayden mind-spoke frantically to Lucia.
We can't fight him. Not like this! Lucia thought frantically to Kayden. The Shade, realizing he'd been spotted, called out to them, trying to get their attention. "Bolt!" Lucia yelled. Bolt raced over to her, and she picked him up in one arm, ignoring the sting from the bruises. "Hang on Kayden!" She grabbed his arm and pushed off, calling on the winds to speed them up, making them race through the neighborhood, heading straight home, hoping to outrun the Shade.

Kayden tried to read the Shade's mind, to know what he was planning..but it was too much for him, he was too mentally drained. Lucia, I can't hear him, he thought to her with difficulty, meaning he couldn't hear his thoughts. Not good, not good... They had to get home, they had to outrun him...or else they'd have to fight. And neither of them were in any condition to fight.
I know, just hang on, we'll get out of this yet. She sped up, calling on the winds with all of her energy until they were racing by, leaving a torrent of spray behind. They reached the house, but when Lucia looked back - she was too exhausted to call upon a breeze - the Shade was walking calmly down the street, as if it had not been chasing them, as if they had not been going over sixty miles an hour. Bolt growled from where he was perched on her arm, jumping off and standing, lip curled, facing the Shade. The Shade ignored him, stepping closer to the two, an evil grin on his face. Bolt's growl went an octave lower, changing from a warning to a threat. The puppy took another step forward, and the Shade stopped in his tracks. Bolt kept advancing on the Shade and the Shade finally took a step back, not sure of the puppy was a threat. Bolt leaped, going straight for the Shade's leg and biting, hard. The Shade yelled in shock, and pain, and backed off, shaking the puppy off. Bolt did not back down, and the Shade, amazed to see that his despair didn't work, turned and fled, trying to keep it casual but not exactly succeeding.

Shia smiled. "Well then I guess we're boyfriend and girlfriend cause I like you too." He looked down at Ash, serious. "But don't tell Hazel. I have a feeling she likes me as well." Then, he laughed again. "Well, we have to go slow like Lucia and Kayden, though." He smiled and put his arm around her waist, walking towards the adoption center.
OOC: Uh oh, we're getting into another OnyxXRunningXDusk situ.!!!
Ic: Lucia chuckled. "Good boy Bolt!" She did her best to dry the three of them off, but they were still a little damp. "Sorry, too tired..." she murmured, hanging her head after three failed attempts at drying them all the way off.

OOC; naww.. it was just that Ash confessed she liked Shia, and in the begginning, me and shatters decided on a little hazelxshia thing. I'm not sure if she still wants to do it...
"Oh, yeah, you just got OWNED by a DOG!" Kayden called after the Shade, laughing his head off. He called Bolt back and scratched him vigorously behind his ears. "Good boy, good boy!" Kayden crooned. They were right outside the front door of the apartment lobby, under the entry awning. "Hey, Lucia, can you dry us off?" Kayden asked, kicking up his skateboard and grabbing hold of it.
