"I can try again..." She did, but it failed. Their clothes were still damp, although their skin was almost perfectly dry. "Sorry, that race through the rain tired me out," she giggled quietly. "Shall we go home?"

"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
Kayden nodded. "It's okay, I like having wet clothes." He smiled and took her hand, holding the lobby door open for her. They both sort of helped each other up the stairs; neither one was feeling exactly energized. Bolt trotted silently behind them the whole way, until they got up into their apartment, finally. Kayden left his skateboard inside the door and collapsed on the sofa in his wet clothes, leaning his head back and closing his eyes.
Lucia let Bolt in and closed the door behind them, collapsing on the couch beside Kayden. "Boy...that was exciting," she murmured, closing her eyes. Bolt jumped up and sat on Lucia's stomach, laying down. "Thanks Bolt," she whispered, relaxing on the leather sofa, not caring that it was getting wet.

Kayden picked up his cell phone from the coffee table in front of the couch, where he had left it. "It's almost 10," he murmured; time had passed so quickly. He sighed and threw his phone across the room like a Frisbee; it landed on the carpeted floor in front of the door to the guys' room. "I think I'm gonna shower and get to bed," he said quietly to Lucia. "I really need extra sleep, plus, I have to work tomorrow morning..." He groaned as he remembered his morning shift.
"10 already? Yeah that's a good idea...I think I'm just going to try heading straight to bed. Maybe I can dry off a bit more..." She stood up, with some effort, and started walking to her room. "'Night Kayden. Sleep well." She turned and smiled at him before stumbling off to her room and falling on the bed. Forget drying off...

Sweet dreams, Miss Latte, Kayden mind-spoke to her as he entered the guy's room, picking up his phone off the ground. He sighed, looking between his bed and the bathroom. "Nah, forget it," he muttered. He'd shower in the morning. Without changing clothes or drying off at all, he collapsed onto his bed and fell asleep immediately, his cell phone still clutched in his hand.
