[Moonstar:]No, this can't be! Not another Broken Battle! But this one's much worse... not only does the enemy want revenge on all of the Clans, but they're trying to win our territory as well. Well, we're not going to let them! RiverClan is clever and strong, and we always will be! Now, let's go out there and show BrokenClan what we're made of.
Moonstar surveyed the lonely territory of her Clan. She could hear the yowls and screeches of fighting cats beyond in other Clans, but so far none has resorted to RiverClan. Her fur bristled at the thought of her territory being splattered with RiverClan blood, the red puddles casting eerie shadows over the entire location, causing the worried leader to question StarClan's loyalty. She sighed, padding over to her high rock. She wondered if she should really be wasting time here when everyone else was fighting for their proper rights.
IC: "Shouldn't you be out there, leading your Clan in battle?" Wolf asked, sitting down a short distance away from the entrance to the camp. "Doesn't it seem... wrong for them to be battling this 'threat,' as I've heard it called, without leadership? Or is their deputy or medicine cat with them, at the least?"
Moonstar jumped, startled, whriling around to face the solemn loner. She sighed, realizing it was merely a non-threatening cat. She closed her eyes and lowered her head shamefully. "That is what I should be doing," she admitted, her pale blue eyes glazed over with fear, deliberately not answering his question.
IC: "Hm," Wolf said, shrugging. "I suppose that uncertainty towards a repeated situation would cause one to avoid their duties." He stood up, pacing. "Anyway, I have a more serious question on my mind, one that you may find... challenging to answer," he said slowly, continuing to pace. "I'll skip the mysteriousness that I usually employ in my speech and simply ask you... What, exactly, is the harm in joining with the other clans, aside from throwing out the tradition of there being four clans..." He stopped, tilting his head. "Not that there always were four, though, and not that I completely agree with Duskstar... But still..."
Moonstar whisked her head and faced Wolf, her eyes cold. "What do you mean by that?" she demanded. "There have always been four Clans. StarClan has always wanted there to be four Clans since SkyClan was driven out. It must never, never change!" She turned back to the stars, lashing her tail.
IC: "But is that law?" he asked quietly, gazing into the walls of the camp, thinking. "StarClan once said there would be five clans... and then, by the will of not them, but of the other clans, SkyClan was driven out, and thus the law changed. Perhaps now, if what Duskstar says is true, that law is about the change once more..." He cast a weary look at Moonstar. "Again, I don't fully understand Duskstar's intentions nor why she was the only one who received a vision of the law being changed," he said. "But perhaps this is something to lthink about; because both her and Brokenstar have attempted this not because of their own wish, but because they were supposedly spoken to by StarClan - and I, personally, find it hard to believe that the same thing would happen twice by mere coincidence."
OOC; I posted this in Windclan but it has to do with Riverclan as well so i will be here for a bit ;D
Ebonycloud stopped on the Riverclan border. Her ice blue eyes glanced across the sight of Moonstar's territory. A frown crossed her face at the thought of Riverclan being so close to Thunderclan. Perhaps they could use a little help and reassurance of Windclan's alignment. The black deputy turned over her shoulder and meowed to Firestar, "Listen, im going to go check in with Moonstar. I know she is on our side... well... she is against Duskstar's reformation ideas. I need to see if she is willing to fight on our side against this madness." With that she nodded and crossed the border on to Riverclan's territory. "I will be back in a little while. Please lead Starstrukk and Onyxpaw back to camp!" she called back.
Moonstar unsheathed her claws, her pale blue eyes turning stormy and a cold, hard gray. "There are four Clans!" she spat. "And there will remain four Clans for the rest of their existence! StarClan doesn't wish for any other way! This is what we've become, and we cannot change back or move forward. We have to remain the present! We cannot unite because then we trash our loyalties, and there is no point in living in a world without our personal families and own beliefs. Several points on the Warrior Code have to do with other Clans. The Warrior Code is what we live by; the Warrior Code is what StarClan has always let us live by!"
Ebonycloud trotted through the light forest of Riverclan's territory. Just by the few trees that werent spaced to close together, she was already getting antsy. Still she pushed on until she heard the loud stream that meant she was getting close to the camp. She emerged in through the reeds to the camp's entrance. "Moonstar, its Ebonycloud. I need to speak with you." She yowled out. A few cats turned their heads in curiousity. Others in hostility. Yet the Windclan deputy held no position of hositilty toward the other clan cats.
