Amberpaw scoffed in her head. She woudn't be ashamed of beign criticized. But when her mentor demanded that she fight, she hesitated. That soon? No long lecture like the other mentors?

She centered her weight, making her toes light and propelling forward. Ivoryclaw stood squared, solid as stone. She went to throw him off balance, jumping over him and throwing his lower back to one side. She regained her footing quickly, trying to bring the target back in her sight. As something soft brushed her paws, she knew her move failed, the whole world turning sideways.

Ivoryclaw lifted a brow for a moment at the she cat's choice of moves. When she had failed to dislodge him he rolled his eyes and pushed back against her. "Wrong." he said shortly. "Try again." Was the last thing he said. He jumped away from and this time he tried being a different enemy. He wasnt going to be the rock solid warrior, he was going to be fast this time. His amber eyes focused on the she cat. His paws became light just in case he had to move. Yet his stance still seemed like it was before.

ooc: Whens the gathering?
Berrytail jumped out of the warriors den and saw them training. She always loved to see mentors training with their apprentices. She kept on watching them until she got bored she got up her bushy tail brushed on the ground. She has always wanted an apprentice it would be so much fun to train any apprentice. She wondered if she could go to the next gathering cause it would be fun. Then Berrytail got up and went out the the camp entrance to go hunting.

Amberpaw got back to a good starting positon, goign over the events in her head. So he was in the same stance, just as solid. She was too small to use her weight against him, like she'd tried to. He was alot more solid than he looked. She charged at him, keeping all of herseld focused at his left side. She strayed that way a moment longer than another cat would have thought to be a decieving move, and reached through his legs, grabbing a paw from his right side and pulling hard. This came with better results, but she paused too long after pulling the paw.

He looked just as sturdy as before, so why did moving his center of balance not effect him? Why did he twist right out of her reach? She truely thought he had powers or something.

Ivoryclaw danced away from her, "Dont be decieved." He barked and called out, "Again!" This would be the last time he would test her judgement then he would teach her the lesson. He watched her stance and decided not to use strength or speed this time. He was going to just dodge her and see how long she could keep up with him, endurance was this test. This time he changed up his stance to make it a little easier on her. He took a defensive pose with fire burning in his eyes. His thick long haired tail was deathly still. Unlike other cats who would lash it side to side showing anger or some other emotion, Ivoryclaw felt it rather impractical to do that. If one kept their cool it would make them seem almost like demons that felt no pain. It would scare the competition to the point where they would run away with their once lashing tails between their legs.

Mosspaw carried the dead mouse to Roseheart and Tailsight. Roseheart was sleeping, Tailsight was wide awake. He was staring into the distance, not looking at anything in particular. He seemed to be not breathing, for his body barely moved up and down. It stayed still.
Mosspaw stood there, wondering if she should disturb Longtail from his daydream. He looked so at peace. So.. still and silent. She knew he wouldn't get mad, but she was questioning if she should call out his name anyways. Mosspaw realized he really wasn't breathing. He seemed to be staring right through her. At last, the elder took a small breath and realized Mosspaw was there. His body shook a little in surprise. His expression changed rapidly. He smiled at the apprentice.
"Why hello, Mosspaw!" he said. "Sorry I didn't see you there!" Mosspaw smiled politely, as good as she could with the dead creature hanging from her mouth. She dropped it in front of the male elder. "Hi Longtail!" she squeaked. "I caught my first mouse and I want you and Roseheart to have it!" She jumped a little at the thought of that prey sitting in front of her was her first mouse EVER. First prey ever. Longtail smiled. "First prey, huh? I remember my first prey," He looked down at the mouse. "Wow, it's a big one. Great for your first catch! Thank you!" He bit down into it, ate some, then saved the rest for Roseheart. Mosspaw smiled, then raced out the den happily.

Florestadream padded quietly around the camp, and decided to speak with the elders -- ever since she was a kit, she loved their stories, but as she grew, she listened to them, and usually took their advice. It was nice to be able to speak to them, and ask questions. Stopping before the elders, she gave a respectful bow and mewed, "Hello, Hazeleye and Tallsigh." Her mismatched eyes started at the elders respectfully, though she couldn't help but feel a tad offended at Hazeleye's slight shudder.

"Ahh, Florestadream, back for more tales, I see?" meowed Tallsigh, his voice cracked and whispery. "Oh, no, Tallsigh. I just wanted to come to visit you two. It has been awfully slow today -- Ivoryclaw is Amberpaw's substitute mentor -- and everyone else is out hunting. Anything else you would like to know? Because it is quite boring out there -- I see nothing to speak of, I just wish for company," spoke Florestadream quite formally, though Hazeleye's grin brought her back to reality.

Though she had never really gotten along with cats around her age, the elders had been her company, and her family. Of course, her mother had passed, and only a moon ago, her father had passed of age. Even her brother, Talonclaw, wasn't very close to her. Well, not since their mother had died. But that was the past. "Oh, Florestadream, go find your brother -- please do. We have one last story to tell, and it is of your father," whispered Tallsigh. With a large grin, Florestadream nodded, and padded off in search of her brother. He had an identical coat to her -- not hard to miss among other cats.

Exiting the camp, she passed by Ivoryclaw and Amberpaw training, and giving them a swift nod, followed her brother's scent. She couldn't help but marvel at the tom's height -- gosh, she was a midget compared to him -- she was still apprentice size, you might say, if you compared her to her brother. After a while, her brother was in sight. With a stern, yet light voice, she called out, "Brother! Tallsigh has one last story for us of father -- come and join me for the tale!"

Her brother's ears twitched in iritation as a mouse scampered away. Swiftly standing and trotting towards her, his tail flicked her ears as he said quickly, "Well, let us go then." Florestadream knew he was holding back his excitement -- he loved to hear tales of their parents -- when they were still warriors and not in their deathbeds. "Ah, still excited I see, Talonclaw," she said with a soft laugh as she easily followed her brother with quick, short steps.

"As you can see, Tallsigh, I have found him," Florestadream chuckled, settling down once again before the elders. Her brother laid down beside her and said, "So Tallsigh, what is this one of?" "Oh, Talonclaw, impatient as ever, I see! This is how your parents met. Of course, they told their version, but oh, this is the true, actual, story," laughed Hazeleyes. They would take turns narrarating as usual, so Florestadream settled in to listen. One story before everyone got back.

"Your mother, a lithe, agile she-cat with golden fur and glistening black eyes was always an object of attention -- though more-so for her hunting skills and ability to crawl into tight spaces. She was small like you, Florestadream. You see, your father and mother grew up, were made warriors together -- but never truly spoke to one another. Your father, Kindlefire, and your mother, Haloeyes, were never really ones to speak -- they were warriors, and did their warrior jobs. But as fate told it, their paths were soon to cross," started Tallsigh.

"And cross, they did. During a dawn patrol, our cats were attacked, and your father and mother fought, back to back, working in sync. I remember that fight clearly -- I was still Hazelpaw, believe it or not! But they fought majestically -- oh so very bravely, and one that small fight. And after that, they started to notice eachother a little more. Your mother noticed your father's jet-black fur, and bright green eyes, and your father noticed your mother's clear eyes and amber fur. You can't say it was love at first sight, but it surely was love! Oh, m'dears, it was a beautiful romance, but as fate had it once again, things had to become complicated... But that, is for later," cut off Hazeleye with a hint of mockery in her voice.

"But tomorrow, right, Hazeleye and Tallsigh? Tomorrow you will finish?" eagerly asked Talonclaw, grinning ear to ear. "But of course, Talonclaw. But back to your warrior-jobs as you would probably say. We are just mere elders, wasting your precious time. Go out and live, kits. There's a whole story out there, waiting for you!" exclaimed Tallsigh, coughing shortly after. Laughing quietly, Florestadream said, "Don't waste your breath, my friends -- we will be back tomorrow, sun-high. Mkay? Until then!", while pushing her brother out of the elders den.

"Now run-off, Talonclaw. I will be out as far as you shortly," Florestadream said curtly as she watched her brother racing off through the entrance. Her small paws dragged on the floor as she made herway out of the camp. Oh, it would seem longer of a day to her.
