Riverheart's ears flattened against his head and his tail drooped. He had only been joking. Those two had been his friends since they were born, didn't they know him well enough to know when he was kidding? And then the whole family thing started up again as they all went to comfort him. Riverheart stood and padded away, into the center of the clearing, where the rain fell hardest. Raising his head to the sky, ignoring any drops that fell into his eyes or nose, he just stared at the clouds. It was painfully obvious who had a family, who had friends - always -, and who was pretty much never alone on his side of the argument. Riverheart had stated a tiny flaw as a joke, and they all turned their backs on him? What kind of friendship was that? Tears spilled out of the sides of his eyes, mingling with the rain, so that it was impossible to tell if he was crying or not. Which was for the best anyway...

Scorchpaw saw Riverheart...and he looked sad. She stopped thinking of herself and silently walked over to him. She sat next to him, not caring if he noticed. "Hi...rough day, huh?"she whispered to him. He looked like he was a cat that had had his heart broke. "Listen... tommorow, I don't think I'll be coming with you guys. Redstar only gave me one mission, and I have no clue what you guys are talking about. So I don't think I'm part of what ever else you guys plan to do."she continued. They didn't seem to want her with them, so shouldn't she head out on Redstar's mission first, or go back to camp? She knew what she said wouldn't really do Riverheart any good, so she sat there for a few miutes before deciding to walk away or stay with him. He did need alone time, but she felt that if she left him, he might get a little anxiouse and react to what she said after she left. That would be confusing. The rain still pummled the ground, now soaking her pelt as she sat with Riverheart.

OOC; Just letting you know, if you do plan on heading back to camp you are going to need to drop out of the roleplay ^^ There is a particular reason for that and i cant explain it now ;D

Shadewing stepped back in to the slightly less damp cover of the bushes they had been in earlier. Riverheart was gone and to tell the truth Shadewing was rather glad of it. Riverheart had always been his friend, not exteremly close but friendly enough. Shadewing figured that Riverheart knew when enough was enough. Yet somehow he managed to misjudge that day. He had kept on making fun of Shadewing in the place that hurt most, his self confidence. Shadewing wasn exactly a big cat, not was his particularly strong. He had been bullied a bit because of his smaller stature but Shadowpelt had always been there to beat up the trouble makers. Shadewing frowned softly to himself at that thought. Riverheart always seemed to know his friends well but it was obivous that he didnt know Shadewing all that well at all.

Riverheart didn't answer as he heard the bushes rustling. He was going to have to apologize. But it kind of hurt that Shadewing didn't know he'd been joking. After all, Riverheart had been one of the cats who beat off the older bullies, the ones that Shadowpelt was too scared to admit that he couldn't handle. Especially at Gatherings. And he was willing to forget all that after one comment? He stood up and padded over, not looking up. "Look, Shadewing? I'm sorry. I was just joking, and I thought you knew that, but I guess I really hurt your feelings back there. So...I'm sorry."

Shadewing looked sideways at the older tom. He remained silent for a moment before he answered, "I... Its alright Riverheart. I guess im just to sensitive about these things. Need a thicker pelt." The black tom shrugged his shoulders before he looked away. "Just be careful about what you say i guess." Shadewing stood and trotted toward Riverheart. He butted the older warriors shoulder kindly, "We can just settle this as a sparring match some time. For now i think you and Resta are qualified as leaders. Me... not so much but we'll figure it out along the way." He smiled at his friend with sincerity.

"You're the one we go to when we need to ask if something's right or wrong," Riverheart answered, smiling. "Besides, what'd we do without you? I mean, I practically grew up with you two, minus two moons," he answered. Plus, age isn't everything he added to himself, his thoughts fluttering to Florestadream.

Walking back into their temporary shelter, she noticed the rain was letting up, so she decided to step outside. But rather, her foot sunk into mud and she hissed. "Of course. Perfect." Dragging her paw out of the mud, she let the rain wash it before she headed back to the cats. "Guys, there's no chance that mud is gonna dry up easily. There's a really slim chance we can set out tomorrow, but we'll have to watch our steps. The mud is deep and I really don't feel like dragging cats out of mud," she explained. Her eyes were quiet as she thought. "But," she added, "we don't even know what we're doing as of now. Are we recuiting or following Shade's dream?"

"Shade's dream," Riverheart announced immediately. "Something like that isn't to be ignored. Who cares who got it, StarClan meant it for us. And us only. Otherwise they would have sent it before we left, or not even to us. Which means it's something we have to do." His voice was sure, as if someone had told him that this was the right way. Then again, he felt it. Besides, who cared if Shadewing wasn't meant to be a leader? He was about as good a medicine cat as you could get, if he wanted to be. After all, he seemed most connected to the stars, and other cats. And Riverheart envied that. At least, the part about the stars.
