Warrior Cats: The Four Clans

Amelia took her focus off of Blaike and Kit and turned to Zemmie. "Hello dear one." She said in her soft motherly voice as she moved over to Zemmie. She put her tiny brown hands on either side of Zemmie's face. "I just explained to Kit and Blaike about why you're here, we put nano bots in their heads so we could watch them, they were sent to find Max and her flock. I know you all hate us, but you must believe me that I want the best for all of you, you're my life." Kit's eyes saddened for a moment. He knew Amelia had once had a husband, but he was killed in an experiment here. She never got remarried, and never had a child. Kit and the gang were all she had. She pulled away and a look came across her face as if she was remembering something. "Wait a moment, who is Thea?" She turned to Theo with a questioning glance.

"My other half! Are you stupid as well as deaf?" Theo asked, giving a deathly stare towards Amelia.

Kit felt the room growing tense. Zemmie's eyes were filled with disbelief, he knew she didn't trust Amelia like she used to. Scott and Saturn were struggling against their restraints, and the only person not doing anything was Blaike. She just stared at the white ceiling. Motionless. He knew she wasn't going to move because it would only remind her of the restraints. His heart ached for her. His eyes moved to Theo who was staring angrily at Amelia and her eyes were clouded, trying to come up with some explanation to whoever the heck this...Thea was.

"I'm sorry Theo, I have no idea who this, er, Thea is. As far as I know, Blaike and Kit were the only ones experimented on the day you all left." She walked over to Theo and took out a small light and opened his eye and pointed the light into his sensitive eyes. He resisted and snapped at her. "You're responsive well enough, Thea could have been just an illusion, something your brain wanted to create so you wouldn't feel so alone. A way to escape, sort of like a 'happy place' is my best guess."

"A happy place!? You think I need a happy place!?" Theo roared as he struggled more and more against the restraints. "You're such a liar! A trickster! Don't think your 'kindness' will do anything for me, because it was NEVER extended towards me. You killed Thea! I know you did, that's all you and your people do! Tell me where Thea is or so help me!"

"Forgive me for not jumping at the chance to be kind to someone who is as hostile as you. I wish I could tell you where this 'Thea' has gone, but I honestly have no clue. If she was indeed real she lived in your mind, therefore, no one would be able to see nor hear her." She sighed and turned to Blaike, Kit also turned to Blaike.

"It's up to you Blaike, I think I have a way to get you all out of here, but you need to be patient. And I'm asking you because you've always seemed to be the leader. I've known ever since Kit looked at you." She smiled softly at Kit. "If you can wait for just a bit longer, I can melt down one of the reactors. Which will result in a massive explosion. Which will buy you enough time to get you all away. And perhaps Max and her flock as well. The choice is all yours Blaike."

Theo muttered, "You're a killer." Amelia ignored him and continued to stare at Blaike waiting for an answer. Blaike turned her eyes to Kit. He pleaded her to trust Amelia, he knew Blaike would make the decision best for everyone, but he still hoped she was okay with her own decision as well.

"I, we, accept your offer Amelia." She said in a flat voice. Blaike's large brown eyes narrowed. "But I swear to you, if anything happens, if only a select few of us get out, if there is any catch, you will not be my friend nor my enemy, you'll be absolutely nothing to me. You got that?"

The room was silent at Blaike's words and Kit shivered. He knew Blaike meant that with every fiber of her being. Kit knew that when Blaike loved something, such as the flock, nothing would stop her.

Amelia nodded and smiled softly, "Which would you have me do?"

"Melt a reactor. We need to get Max and her gang out of here as well. We put them in here, we have to get them out."

"Alright," Amelia smiled. "I'll get you all into the same room, so it'll be easier for you. Thank you," She said turning to Kit and Blaike, "for trusting me."

Kit nodded, his eyes tearing up. He's always trusted her. With everything he'd had.

He turned to Blaike and the others. "Now, I guess we wait." He turned and stared at the ceiling for what felt like hours. When suddenly alarms started blaring. The others were struggling at the loud sound, what was going on? Suddenly, a large group of scientists came in in hazmat suits. Each grabbed a table that the bird kids were on and wheeled them out. They wheeled them down the hallways and he saw the same being done with Max and her flock. What the? They were all rolled into a room and once the doors were shut, the cuffs came off. She felt a fist grab him but the shirt and pull him up off the table. He saw the ferocious glare of Fang's eyes. "Would you knock it off? We have a plan for getting us out of here!" Fang didn't look convinced and right when Fang was about to punch, Kit knocked him to his knees and grabbed his fist. Kit felt power flooding into him as he extracted Fangs. He let go. "Stop it! Just wait!"

Max and her gang huddled at the other side of the room away from Kit and his flock. Things seemed to be settling down when a large explosion erupted, causing the floor to quake. Kit fought to keep his balance. The floor cracked and bent in place, causing the door to jar open. His eyes widened. An automated voice called over the speaker, "Malfunction, Malfunction. Main reactor in sector D has shut down to safety protocol failsafe systems. Reactor is working at eleven percent. Switching to back up generator." The systems alarms blared as red lights flooded the room. The main lights flickered off causing the room to be flooded in crimson. "Error, Error," the voice called out, "back up generator is off line due to maintenance repairs." This was it!

"Everybody out! This is our chance to escape! MOVE!" Kit called out.
