Hedwig sat perched on the ledge of Harrys window. Her yellow eyes were wide with eagerness.Harry stroked her head softly, causing a tranquil purr to arise from her chest. He looked over at the clock and smiled.Hedwig knew very well, that her boy was just as excited as she was.He grabbed his Invisibility Cloak and threw it over his head. The snowy owl, who had, at first, been frightened of the boys sudden disappearance, continued to stare out the window.
"Bye Hedwig," said invisible Harrys voice. She clicked her beak in response. The door opened then closed and Hedwig was alone. She let out a call and listened carefully. Her heart began to pound wildly as she heard the soft beating of wings coming toward her.Soon, a large eagle owl, named Talon came into view, his amber eyes shining brightly as he saw the beautiful she-owl.
He sped up, quickly closing the distance between him and Hedwig. She ruffled her feathers seductively as he flew in the window and watched him affectionately.Talon hopped up onto the window sill to stand beside her.He clicked his beak in greeting and pressed his body against hers.Hedwig purred softly and pressed back against him.Her yellow eyes narrowed blissfully as she felt his beak nibbling on the back of her neck, grooming her adoringly.
Once he was done cleaning her white feathers, Hedwig nipped him tenderly on the shoulder and leaped out the window.Talon followed her, his wingspan stretching twice as long as her although she stayed ahead of him easily. She looked back at him with a glint of mischief in her eyes and dove down toward the ground.Talon perched on a branch as he waited for the pretty owl to return.
She swooped down and grabbed an unsuspecting field mouse in her powerful beak. She bit down hard, killing it quickly. Her eyes lit up with triumph as she sat down beside the larger owl.Talon narrowed his eyes playfully and pretended to grab her pray, receiving a painful bite on the neck in the process. He recoiled immediately and Hedwig apologized by tenderly nipping at his shoulder. She pushed the mouse toward him, allowing him to take it for himself. He looked at her lovingly and swallowed the rodent whole.
His amber eyes shot down to the ground when he heard the soft scuttling of a vole on the ground. He took off, gliding silently through the air and grabbed the animal with his mouth and killed it swiftly. He flew back to Hedwig and dropped the vole at her claws. She hooted a thanks and slowly ate the prey.
They sat together and watched the moon drift across the sky.Hedwig pressed against his feathers, soaking in his soothing warmth. When the moon reached the highest point in the sky, she turned to him, regret clouding her shining eyes.Talon clicked his beak in understanding and flew off beside her.
When they reached the castle, he nuzzled her lovingly and gave her a soft peck on the shoulder. She nibbled on his neck and hooted a farewell. He flew away into the distance.
The door to the dormitory opened and Harry pulled off his cloak. His eyes were beaming. He walked over to the window and stroked his owls feathers. "Hey Hedwig," he greeted, sitting down beside her."Sorry about abandoning you tonight; you must have been so bored."Hedwigs eyes glinted in amusement.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, this has nothing to do with Warriors but I feel bad that I haven't posted anything in a while. This is to accompany my other story, Gentle Hate, a DracoxHarry story. It's Hedwig and Draco's eagle owl, Talon spending a romantic evening together while Harry's out doing his thing with Draco. XD My other story is located here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4166631/1/Gentle_Hate_DRACOxHARRY_slash_CHAPTER_8_up
"Stormfur?" Squirrelpaw's voice was a quiet whisper. It made Stormfur shiver. He nodded slowly, his eyes clouded with grief. Why had Feathertail died? Why couldn't the Tribe cats be right and he be the prophesized silver cat? He would have died without hesitation if it kept his sister here, where she belonged. He felt Squirrelpaws warm pelt next to him--her breath in his ear. "Stormfur, Feathertail wouldn't want you to stop living over her, would she? She would want you to keep going--to live for the both of you." Stormfur turned to face the ginger apprentice. Her pelt stood out among the white snow. He smiled. She was so beautiful. Everything about her made Stormfurs fur prickle with affection. Their eyes metgreen mingling with yellow. "Squirrelpaw," Stormfur sighed, stepping toward her--his heart pounding. His rapid breath blew into her face, disrupting her ginger fur. "Oh Stormfur," Squirrelpaw breathed, her eyes closing. She buried her face in his gray pelt and inhaled deeply. He wrapped his tail around her, pulling her closer. "Squirrelpaw," he whispered into her fur. "Mmmm?" Stormfur hesitated, trying to find the right words. "I...I love you." "I love you, too, Stormfur. I always have." Stormfur's heart fluttered and he licked the ThunderClan apprentices neck. And out of the corner of his eye, he could have sworn he saw the burning, amber eyes of Brambleclaw glowering down at them.
This was inspired by Moonrise and the part in Outcast where Stormfur tells Lionpaw that he liked Squirrelflight. I 've loved this couple ever since he started acting all flirty with her in Moonrise.
But I really love this couple. I think it's just because I love Stormfur so much, but whatever. I'm not a big fan of Squirrelflight, but I think she'd be good with Stormfur. Anyone besides Brambleclaw. Maybe then she'd actually want kits of her own instead of taking them from Leafpool. *wink*
