"Firestar! Firestar!" Leafpool bounded into her leaders den. Before she spoke she looked at Brambleclaw, the Thunderclan Deputy. Firestar understood and asked, "Brambleclaw could you leave us for a moment?" He nodded and walked out. "Now what seems to be the problem Leafpool?" "I've had a vision." "Go on" "Jaypaw and I were out collecting herbs, and I glanced over at him to make sure he was ok. But when I looked at him, he wasn't Jaypaw. He was a golden cat, I could barely look at him because his fur was shining so bright. And then a voice whispered in my ear 'A Sun Will Change Everything'" Firestar pondered over what he had just heard. "Well we dont know if the change is bad or good, so we can't assume anything to that nature, and 'A Sun.' What does it mean?" Leafpool ansswered, "Could it mean a 'son' as in Father and Son?" Firestar murmered half to himself, "But then why would Jaypaws fur glow...Leafpool tell me right away if you figure anything out I'll ponder over this myself if nothin comes up i will visit the Moonpool." "Yes Firestar" and she padded out of the den. ~ "OW! Quit pushing Lionpaw!" "Well then go faster Hollypaw! I'm hungry!" They Both tumbled out of the entrance of camp. "Well Gee Lionpaw you could stop behaving like a kit!" "Thanks for the comment Hollypaw." He padded over to the fresh kill pile and chose a plump mouse for himself. 'Ah the beauty of Greenleaf' he said to himself. He went over to join Honeypaw and Cinderpaw in the shade of the Highledge. "Hi Lionpaw!" Meowed Honeypaw. He nodded his head. He sat down beside her and took a gulp of the mouse. Feeling all the lost energy from battle training flow back into him. "I saw you practicing with Ashfur Lionpaw. You're getting really good!" "Thank you Honeypaw, you're getting pretty good yours-" He was cut off by a terrfying screech, he jerked his head over and saw a cat falling over the edge of the ravine. Lionpaw raced over to the cat and yelled, "Leafpool! Leafpool come quick!" The clearing started to fill with cats whispering 'Is he dead?' 'What Clan did he come from?' Leafpool pushed her way through the crowd and Firestar followed. "He's covered in mud, theres no way to tell where he's from until he is washed clean." said Firestar. "Firestar help me get him to my den." ~ It had been two sunrises since the cats appearance. Firestar made his way to the medicine cats den. He saw Jaypaw in the back sorting herbs and Leafpool grooming the cat. "How is he doing?" Leafpool looked up, "She's doing fine." "She?" Leafpool nodded. "Well do you know what clan she's from?" "I dont think she's from a clan. Her only scent is the forest and the lake." "Well We'll find out once shes awake, send Jaypaw for me when she is Leafpool nodded. ~ The next morning when Leafpool walked out of her den, the young she-cat was awake and looking confuzed. "Hi, I'm Leafpool, you fell into our camp, and i'm the medicine cat of Thunderclan." "Thunderclan?" "Yes, there are four clans of cats here by the lake, um, would you mind telling me who you are and where you cam from?" "Well, Leafpool, I'm not sure who I am, all i can remember is I woke up by the lake, got really scared because i didnt know where i cam from, started running, then started falling and now i'm here." "So you don't remember anything about yourself?" "No I'm sorry." Leafpool nudged Firestar awake. "Go get Firestar." He nodded and padded out of the den. "You believe me don't you?" "Of course I do," "Ok, well I just thought you might not, because it does sound pretty crazy," "Well I promise you I do believe you." "Who's Firestar?" "Me," "Firestar, is our leader to our clan." "And you are." "As I was just telling Leafpool I have no idea." Leafpool turned to her and said, "How about you go outside and meet some of the other clan members. Jaypaw, will you take her out?" He nodded and they made their way outside. "Oh Firestar, she can't remember anything, she doesnt know who she is or where she's from all she knows is that she wo-" Leafpool gasped. "What is it?" But Leafpool just stared over his shoulder. Firestar turned and saw it. Her fur in the sunlight shined like the sun.
aww you guys r so sweet! im writing the second and hopefully i'll have it up by tomorrow if not it will be tomorrow! you guys just made my night! :) sorry bout the grammer issues! im not the smartest person in my school lol
Ok Heres Chapter 2! Chapter 2Firestar looked at Leafpool. "She's the ONE?" "SH! She has to be look at her fur!""Yes yes I see that, I just-" "I get it now!" Leafpool butted in."Get what?""She doesn't remember anything because she was never born, Starclan placed her here an-""Wait wait wait, you're telling me she was never a kit? She never grew up?""Firestar, don't you see? Now is her time, her chance, she was placed her for a reason, a very special reason, and we get to watch her and experiance what she does to change our lives.""Leafpool, we don't even know if the prophecy is for a good cause or not do we?""Firestar! Look at her!"He turned and saw Jaypaw introducing her to some of the apprentices and Mousefur who was sitting next to them, curious. Her bright eyes showed she had the heart of a clan cat, and she also was very kind and getting lots of mews of amusement in her direction. As he was looking at her he heard Leafpool say, "There is something about her Firestar, some kind of spirit that lets you know she's good. And there is so much kindness behind her words, I know I've only spoken to her for a few moments, but in those moments, it feels like, just by who she is, i feel like I've known her a lifetime." Firestar turned to her. "You're right in every way, come, we must invite her into the clan." Mousefur padded up to them. "Firestar, that young cat has a sense of humor like no other what are we going to do with her, she seems calm for a cat from another clan in another clans camp.""I'm about to anounce everything. Um, excuse me, if you would, I would like you to join our clan.""Please say yes! We want you here!" replied Cinderpaw. She looked around and all the apprentices nodded. "Ok, I will join your clan.""Great! I'll make the announcement!"Firestar jumped onto the highledge and called, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath the Highledge for a clan meeting!" At once cats started to gather into the clearing. Firestar looked into the young she-cats eyes, there was wisdom beyond her years as if she was older than an apprentice, he also so a spark of energy and curiosity, like a kits heart. "Firestar we're waiting." said Squirrelflight."Oh, yes, um, as you all know a few days ago a young cat "dropped" in. I would like her to join our clan. She doesn't know however, who she is or where she came from, but Leafpool and I know for a fact, she's not a kittypet or another clan member, I hope you will all accept her." Meows of approval broke out."Ok, we first must start by giving her a name. Please step forward."She walked up a few pawsteps and looked at Firestar. "I ask that Starclan look down on this cat. I know she will train hard to learn the ways of your noble code and become the Warrior you want her to be. From this moment on you shall be known as Goldpaw, we trust you will prove yourself loyal to your new clan." He jumped down and rested his muzzle on her head. And like Leafpool told her, she gave a respectful lick on his shoulder."Goldpaw! Goldpaw!" Lionpaw started and everyone joined in. All the cats congragulated her and welcomed her by her new name. "There is one more matter of business, she will need a mentor. I myself would like to be." Everyone agreed. He nodded at Goldpaw and motioned for Leafpool so come into his den."Wow! Having the clan leader as your mentor! Thats amazing! You are so lucky!" spoke Honeypaw."Yeah you sure are!" replied Lionpaw."Why thank you! Hey Lionpaw could you give me a tour of your camp? So that I will know where to go and where everything is?"Lionpaw felt flattered. "Of course! Follow me!"
"Wow it's so big!" Goldpaw stated. Once they were through exploring and heading back to camp. "Yeah, thats what I said when I was first given a tour. Hey are you hungry? I could catch us something to eat." "Ok! That would be great I'm starving!" Lionpaw searched for his prey, once he located it he dropped into a hunters crouch and with one swift pounce and bite he had a mouse hanging from his jaws. "Wow Lionpaw! That was amazing! I hope that I get as good as you someday!" "Thank you Goldpaw" He purred with satisfaction. Lionpaw scraped Earth over his prey to collect it later. "Once I catch another one, we'll come back for this and bring it back to camp. Thats something else you'll learn tomorrow, 'The Clan Must Be Fed First.' "Lionpaw you know so much! I don't know how I'm going to learn all this!" "You will Goldpaw, I promise" They stared at each other for a moment. Lionpaw cleared his throat and said, "One second I think I smell a rabbit." He dropped down and sure enough there was a rabbit under some brush. He thought to himself, 'I've got to impress her! Starclan dont let me miss this!' He stayed downwind and with a pounce and a quick run he caught the rabbit quickly and smoothly. They padded back into camp. "Goldpaw! Lionpaw! Come over here!" Called out Hollypaw. They went over and sat down. "Goldpaw have you ever tried fresh-kill?" asked Berrypaw. "No, I don't think I have." "Well then here," mewed Lionpaw pushing the mouse over to her, "the mouse is better tasting than rabbit." "I want the rabbit!" Called Cinderpaw padding over to them. Goldpaw took a bite of the mouse. "Mmmm! This is delicious!" She said through a mouthful of mouse. "Told you so." replied Lionpaw. He couldnt take his eyes off her. "So Goldpaw what did you think of our territory?" asked Berrypaw. "We didnt get to explore everything but what I did see was huge! I dont see how there could be anymore! And I love all the undergrowth, its so cozy!" "How about your own home? Was it Big?" "Berrypaw! She can't remember anything remember?" "Lionpaw, its ok, if I talk about it I might even remember something. I can picture some of my home in my head, I know it was amazingly beautiful, with many cats, not like here though, it was...different and bright. Thats all I know." "Wow your home sounds like its very beautiful!" replied Honeypaw. "I think it really was." "Hey Goldpaw! Do you want to race me!?" Hollypaw rolled her eyes, "Mousepaw is the fastest apprentice in the clan, he just wants to brag about it and prove it to you." "Come on Goldpaw!" "Ok! I'm coming!" She trotted over to him and he said, "Ok, you have to run all the way to the Highledge and back. Ok?" Goldpaw nodded. "Come on Goldpaw! You can beat him!" shouted Lionpaw. Other apprentices started to gather around to watch the race. And Mousefur was watching from the Elders Den. Goldpaw squinted her eyes ready for the challenge. "Go!" Shouted Hollypaw. Immediatly Mousepaw took the lead. They arrived at the Highledge at exactly the same time. On the way back she shot forward, her tactic of starting slow and finishing fast was working. She won the race 5 rabbit hops ahead of Mousepaw. All the apprentices were chanting her name. "Good race Mousepaw!" "Thanks Goldpaw." He said completely out of breath. Goldpaw looked up feeling eyes on her. She saw Firestar looking at her, he backed away into his den and Mousefur followed him. 'Something is odd.' She thought to herself. She went back to her mouse and finished it in a few ravished gulps. ~ "Firestar, may I speak to you?" "Yes Mousefur, whats on your mind?" "There is something more to that cat than what you're telling isn't there. Don't open your mouth and deny it, I have lived many seasons and I am wise enough to know there is something special about her. She outran Mousepaw, half of the warriors cant beat him in running. And she wasnt even out of breath afterwards. When she stands in the sun, her fur ripples like bright rays of the sun. And when you look into her eyes, you see wisdom in them that not even she knows she has. And dont tell me I just have fleas in my brain." "Mousefur everything you just said is completely true, I'll tell you and only you, Starclan sen her here. Leafpool and I have yet to figure out the reason, but they said 'A Sun Will Change Everything' we understand they mean her." "I see, I'm glad you told me the truth Firestar. I believe the change we're going to have will be for the good, that cat has a lot in for her." And with that Mousefur left. Firestar curled into his nest pondering about the young she-cat. The next day he will be able to get to know her more, and discover things that might help his clan.
Goldpaw was the first apprentice awake. She walked outside and started to stretch her limbs. "Showing off are we?" Goldpaw whipped around and saw Lionpaw. She purred, "Theres no one to show off for now is there?" "I'm here now," "Well, in that case," She pounced on him and pinned him to the ground. "Ha!" she said in his face. They stared into each of their blue eyes. "Hey Lovebirds move out of the way so i can get out!" Mewed Berrypaw. "Oh! Sorry Berrypaw!" Goldpaw stated. Goldpaw quickly moved as did Lionpaw. "Come on Goldpaw lets go get something to eat from the fresh-kill pile." Lionpaw said. They padded over and sat down to a mouse and a sparrow. "Lionpaw, what are they doing over there?" She asked. Lionpaw looked over and said. "Thats Whitewing and Birchfall, what they're doing is called sharing tounges. You groom each other while sharing the latest gossip." "Oh. I see," she said. She saw Firestar coming over towards her. "Hey Goldpaw, you ready for your first day of training?" he asked. "Am I ever!" she jumped up with excitment blaring in her eyes. "Ok," Firestar let out a mew of amusement. "come on" "Bye Lionpaw!" Goldpaw called over her shoulder. "Bye Goldpaw! Good luck!" ~ "Ok Goldpaw, what do you smell?" Goldpaw opened her mouth slightly to take in all the
scents around her.
"A faint trace of fox, about four days old. Mice, voles, and," she sniffed the air again. "More cats." "Very good. The cats you smell are from Windclan. This is the border. Over that way is Riverclans." He flicked his tail to the right. He showed her the border then he took her to the Shadowclan border. "Why do you all have borders?" Goldpaw asked.
"Because we need to protect our clans territory."
"Protect as in fight?"
"Yes," Firestar stated.
"But, Firestar, if I may ask, why do you have to fight? Why can't you all accept your differences and live in peace?"Firestar stopped.
"Thats the same question I asked when i was accepted into the forest. You see I used to be a kittypet, but Bluestar, the former leader of Thunderclan, asked me to join her clan. I never could understand the fighting, but i do now. And joining this Clan was the greatest decision I ever made. Just trust in yourself Goldpaw, you don't need to remember your past for your future to be great!"
Goldpaw was taking in each word as if she hadnt eaten for a moon. "Thank you Firestar, I'll remember that. He dipped his head.
~
"OK Goldpaw lets work on your hunting crouch. When you drop down, put all the weight into your haunches and let you paws lightly taouch the ground."
Goldpaw did what she was told. Firestar was astonished.
"Goldpaw you did that like you've done it a million times! That was perfect!"
Goldpaw looked at him, troubled.
"Firestar I think I have, when I did that, it was like, like a dream, as if I have hunted my entire life."
"Well, in the life you cant remember you probably did hunt."
"Yes, but that wasn't a memory like most. It was different,"
Firestar tried to hide his interest. 'I'm going to have to visit Starclan to find her purpose here.' He thought to himself. Firestar showed her everything there was to see and he was even more interested when she caught four mice without any flaws. When the sun was just about to set, they headed back to camp.
~
Firestar found himself dreaming. In the distance, he saw Goldpaw walking through a forest looking lost. Then, Goldpaw spotted something and she started padding towards it. Firestar started to follow her. "Goldpaw!" he shouted. Suddenly a sweet scent drifted over him. Spottedleaf! "She can't hear you Firestar, you are walking in her dream."
"But why am I here?" he asked.
She swept her tail over his mouth, "Listen and Watch."
Firestar watched as Goldpaw was padding up to a cat he didnt recognize. "Silverstar" Goldpaw dipped her head.
"My child, are you enjoying your new clan?"
"Yes, I am mother, thank you for putting me there."
"You're welcome, I'm sorry that this is the only way we can see eachother."
"I know." Goldpaws head dropped. "I miss you."
"I am glad Firestar chose to be your mentor. You must listen to him. He is one of the wisest cats in the clan. Pay attention to everything he tells you,"
Firestar felt hot at the cats words. "Spottedleaf, why is Goldpaw here? And if she knows all of this, why wont she tell me?"
"Firestar, she really doesnt remember. She only remembers everything in her sleep. Silverstar is her mother, they both died when she was giving birth to Goldpaw. And she grew up here, in the ranks of Starclan. She doesnt know the great purpose she has destined for her."
"What is it Spottedleaf?"
But her scent was slowly disappearing as someone was prodding him.
"Firestar! Firestar! Wake up!"
It was Goldpaw!
"Goldpaw what is its in the middle of the night!"
"I-I had a dream."
Firestar quickly sat up.
"What was it about?"
"I-dont know really. I can barely remember it. But there was a cat, and i felt safe around her as if i knew her. And I felt you watching me. And i don't know, I'm sorry for waking you
but something told me to."
"It's ok Goldpaw, I'm glad you did. Go back to sleep, I'll see you in the morning."
