IMO

For this IMO, many users PMed me an answer to this question: What are your thoughts on the new Erin Hunter series, Seekers? Do you like the bears lives more than the cats? Or are you just not feeling these ones? Here are their answers!

 

Moonstar: I think Seekers is an interesting series, but I actually find myself bored and not wanting to read because it is a very long journey with obstacles along the way and I prefer smaller chunks rather than one large chunk (the large chunk being a journey that lasts too many books). The description is great, but I rather miss giant Clans of cats with a different problem in each book. But thats just my opinion ;]

 

Karma: Personally, I am not a big fan of the seekers series. As Moony is hopefully aware I am in possession of the first book and I thought it was nice and sweet and pretty good. Just, not the kind of book I am currently interested in reading right now.

 

Starstrukk:I think the Seekers books are an interesting idea and I love the originality. Hahahaha, of course, in my eyes, they do not look like a series I would read personally. I already read many talking animal series; one more would kill me. I think this Animal-With-Mission-And-Can-Talk is being over-used now.

 

Wolf: Though I haven't read Seekers, I was never really into the idea of bears. They just don't strike me as nearly as interesting as the history in Warriors, plus there's the fact that Seekers seems to be almost exactly like Warriors, just without the cats and the awesomeness. =P

 

The next IMO: What is your favorite TFCG item to send in? Do you dig making funny comics to crack up readers? Or do you prefer sending letters for Cinderpelt to answer with sincerity? Maybe you favor telling the forum your opinions with the IMO! Send your thoughts to Moonstar, and your answer most likely will appear in the next issue! User Interview!

TFCG (Ebonycloud for this interview only): Thank you so much Paintedleaf for taking the time to have an interview with me. I would like to ask you about a few things here on the site if you dont mind. First off, how did you come about finding this site?

Paintedleaf: No problem. Well uh... I was bored one day and started searching for warrior cat websites that I could join to look for books and have fun, and well I found this site after like the 10th page on Google. I was REALLY bored...

TFCG: Haha, yeah I know how it can be when things get really boring. For the time you have been here, what have you enjoyed the most?

Paintedleaf: Hmmm that would have to be...the games and activities board! It sucks the boredom right out of you.

TFCG: Glad to see that there is something to keep you entertained! As for the users here on the site, how well do you get along with them? Are they nice cats to talk to?

Paintedleaf: I get along with them nicely! There all great to talk to and make this site better with all there personalities and stuff.

TFCG: Great! I'm glad that their making you feel right at home. Almost done M'kay? What did you feel like when you were finally made a medicine cat and received your warrior name?

Paintedleaf: I was SOOOO happy! I was planning to become a warrior in the beginning but ended up choosing to be a medicine cat apprentice and now Im here.

TFCG: Its great to see that you were happy about it. I was when I got my name. Here is the last question, as a relatively newcomer what would you like to see done to help out other newcomers on the site?

Paintedleaf: AH already? Ok then. Well I really dont know because Im not good with making suggestions but I dont know everyone seems like they help out newcomers when they can. So I guess thats my last answer. Nice talking to ya!

Ask Cinderpelt!

 

Dear Cinderpelt,
Have you ever felt like the world was on your shoulders, or you were stuck cleaning up other's messes that they left for you? I think that's been my main problem lately... People have been asking me for advice, and only one friend has been there for me through thick and thin, and been giving me for advice, but like me, she leads a busy life, and so we barely talk in person and have get-togethers like we were planning! And texting we don't trust much, since other people might read it... And I think I'm going through so much... since I like this one guy... and I think he likes me back... but I also kind of like his brother who is a year older than us, and my friends say that my crush's older brother thinks of me as a friend, but I don't really know the brother, but people try to keep me away from him, but I don't exactly see anything wrong with him except that we had two very bad run-ins with each other where I by accident made him mad, and he was in a bad mood the second time... And so I feel so lost... and one friend has cancer... And I don't know what to do anymore. I feel ready to give up. And I'm sorry that I'm pounding you with my problems... but I don't really know where else to go right now... I don't know who to trust in real-life...

Dear Giving Up The Fight,
I know exactly what you mean about feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders. Many of us feel it sometimes. In my real life things are complicated and confusing. Trust is easily broken with real life people. I can say that dont let this get you down. Even if my advice doesnt solve your problems all I can really say is take heart in the fact that there are people out there that know what you are going through. That they may not be able to take your burdens away but rather they know what its like to share them. They can ease your mind with the fact that they are carrying your burden as well to make it easier for you.
As for your crush and his older brother, emotions are easily swayed my friend. Take a step back and think about it. I know you like his older brother but perhaps your feelings are coming from the idea that other people dont want that relationship. Perhaps its because you just like the way he looks, to be honest I do not know. All I really can say is keep your emotions in check and dont let your feelings sweep you away. I know someone that has done that and it did not end well for them. For the friend with cancer, I know what its like as well. Someone very close to me has a Benin tumor in her throat and might just have breast cancer. I dont mind anyone here pounding away at me with their problems and especially not anyone that needs the advice. Even if you cant trust anyone in real life right now, dont let that make you put up barriers to keep others out. You will only hurt yourself if you cant find someone to lean on. I hope this has helped you in anyway.

Okay, so I want a boyfriend, not that I am desperate or anything, but just like most girls I am definitely interested in having one. But when I think about it when my guy friend hugs me and is close to me (which he does quite constantly) I feel kind of uncomfortable. Does that mean I am not ready for a boyfriend?

Dear Am I Ready?,
First off, of course you may call me that! I enjoy nothing more than feeling connected like that. Now, on to your question. Alright, all I can really say is, do you think you are ready? I know what you mean about being interested in having a boyfriend but remember this dear friend; you have your whole life ahead of you. You dont have to go out looking for a boyfriend to fill your interest and curiosity. You have your whole life to find your mate, not that you would defiantly marry the one you date. There are more important things than being caught up in the emotional drama that comes along with it.
One of those things is school, having a partner in your life is important but dont let that distract you from your studies. I cant stress it enough. During this time in our world you really need to be able to get good grades because only the people with good grades are getting jobs now.
To get straight to the point, only if you think you can handle it. As for hugging your friend, there is nothing to worry about there. Just because you feel uncomfortable with him doesnt mean that you arent ready. I get hugged by some of my guy friends and to tell you, I dont feel quite comfortable myself. It only means that you probably dont feel that way about them and being that close to their personal space just isnt something you are interested in. For now until you are sure you can handle the distraction, just let your focus be on your studies. I hope any of this has helped you.

Neglect

Neglect, that was the first word Jade Paterson thought of every day as she entered her new school. This was forever the case because Jade felt she was never accepted, she felt as if she were never there, invisible to reality. And soon enough, it was time for her to enter the tall cold golden archway that stood before her entrance to school. She felt her body skim its cool metal, and felt a chill run through her veins. This chill began to represent the everyday torture she went through as she was pushed around the halls and tormented by her teachers.

Fortunately every day when school ended she had a safe haven to return to, her serene, welcoming bed room. When she entered it she felt as if she had entered a whole other world, Jade drowned herself in books, letting the words take over her body.

Sometimes she was a plane; sometimes she was exploring the emerald jungle as she felt the moist rubbery leaves brush against her arms. Other times she was a princess, making important decisions for her country. Jade always wished that when she put down her book, the story never ended, she wanted to be that princess, or that plane. And soon, her dream was about to become reality. Sadly, she didnt check her wish for loopholes.

Mother, if you please, Id rather not go to school. exclaimed Jade. There I am not treated fairly; they have no proper manners as we were first taught back at The Young Lady Preparatory Academy. Jades mother stared her straight into her eyes. Looking as mad as you could ever envision, her eyes flaming. This is our home now Jade! And youd better accept that! Now go and get ready for school! Jades mother stomped off and up the stairs she went.

Jade pulled on her favorite pink silk dress as she prepared for school, her fluffy brown hair complementing it perfectly. She felt the smooth textures of the silk run down her body as the dress fell down to her ankles; she twirled around and tried to savor these moments in her room. She closed her eyes and let her feet give way so she could collapse on her bed.

 Jade imagined she was queen of her very own land never to go to school again. Watching as her people praised her and learned from her mistakes, as she learned from theirs. Studying the tall evergreens that swayed in the wind through her shining window. This was her home, not her foul new house in which she was supposed to call home, but the wide stretched out plains of Quenlin; her kingdom.

Jade!! screamed her mother. Youve already missed the bus! How dare you! I told you to get ready for school, not to lie on your bed day dreaming! Her mother walked up to Jade and smacked her in the head, and Jade wailed in return. Now get up and walk to school before you miss lunch! Jade wailed again and cried her way downstairs. And she did so on her way to school.

By the time she reached school she had broken down in tears, for school was over, she had no way of contacting her mother, and not to mention she had no idea how she had gotten there. With her hair damp from rain and her favorite dress ruined, she tried to find her way back home.

 

Chapter 2

 

When Jade took relieved steps back into her house she collapsed on the floor, sobbing tears of joy. She was home again, her mother was out at work, and she could once again enter her miraculous world of Quenlin.

She ran up the creaky steps that led up to her room and burst through her oak doors, and stopped dead in her tracks. For before her stood what seemed like a petite hovering ball of water sitting atop her bed. When she approached the orb she realized within it there seemed to be small creatures fighting against each other.

She reached out her hand and hesitated. Thinking to herself, should I do it? Then Jade gradually reached out her hand and kept her eyes closed; only realizing when her hand made contact with the orb when she felt an icy chill run through her spine. Within a moments notice she was sucked into a portal of some sort.

Jade was suddenly surrounded by dancing blue lights as she fell through the wrinkles of time. Cool breezes brushed against her skin as she screamed soundlessly, wondering what was to become of her. Then suddenly the breezes stopped, the blue lights she had seen a moment earlier had vanished. Instead she was sitting upon a rock covered in moss surrounded by striking tall evergreens.

Run fair madden! Jade stood up slowly and began to look around. By now she had many questions, who was it that called out? Was it her they were calling for? Why did these trees seem familiar? Why was this place so familiar? And her biggest question was what happened to her?

Though she felt she should be sad, she felt a familiarity towards this place that made her happy, as though this was her true home. She was imagining herself at her house. Reading books, her only comfort. Then a battle cry broke her trance. Maiden! Move, I say, move!
