Warrior Cats: The Four Clans

Chapter Three:

  "Dead?!" Lightwing gasped. "How?"
  "We don't know." Darkclaw admmited. "We found him lying in his den, and that's all."
  "Well, this couldn't have been a conisidence," Icetalon meowed grimly. "Something must've happened to him."
  "Feathersong!" Lightwing meowed loudly. The silver tabby popped into the den, shock and terror flowing within her eyes.
  "Wha-"
  "No time." Lightwing meowed firmly. "Where is Spearowstar's sons?"
  Feathersong pointed her tail to the apprentices' den, and Lightwing dahsed to it. Lostpaw and Branchpaw were sleeping, side by side, in the corner.
  "You two." Lightwing nudged them softly. Branchpaw grunted, while Lostpaw's gray tail flickered.
  "Hmm?" He mewed quietly. Lightwing's heart sank at the thought of the gentle gray tom finding out that his noble father had died.
  "Lightwing!" Stolenpaw yowled, scrambling toward her. "Spearowstar! Dead!" Lightwing lowered her head, not wanting to see the apprentices' reaction to the sudden outburst.
  Lostpaw's eyes shot open. "D- what?" Branchpaw was already up, pounding toward his father's den. "Dad! No!" His wail echoed through the camp.

  Lightwing sat between Icetalon and Stolenpaw. It was time they had a new leader; Wildstorm.
  "This evening has been devistating for us all." Feathersong meowed, sitting next to the large blue-gray tom. Their's- everybodys'- eyes were filled with grief. "But every leader passes, just as we do." She turned to Wildstorm. "Tonight, you shall go up to MoonPool, and gain your nine lives from the noble ancestors of StarClan."
  Wildstorm nodded, his tail curled over his paws. "I will serve my clan with my upmost ability as leader."
  "And," Feathersong continued. "Our new deputy will be- a courageous and loyal cat- Icetalon."
  Icetalon's eyes widened. So did Lightwing's.
