Ebonycloud turned his angry glance over his shoulder, "Go away Blackheart! I dont want to talk right now!" He sped up hoping his long legs would out run the larger tom. He knew it wouldn't work. Blackheart's legs were longer tan his. Ebonycloud growled but knew one day his legs would be even longer, he wasn't finished growing yet.
Ebonycloud snarled up at him, "You dont have to be so rough!" he wriggled trying to get out of the pin but it didn't work. Slowly his anger subsided and tears filled his eyes. His shoulders shook with sadness.
Blackheart let him up. "You don't need to get so angry when life hits you in the face Eboncloud. Yes, it'll be hard but you will be a stronger cat if you face it. Listen to me, trust me on this. I wish I had listened to my father when he told me the very same thing."
Ebonycloud sat up and tried to stop shaking. He turned to Blackheart and gave him a needing and hopeful glance, "Just what did he tell you?" He really needed to hear this wise cats words. Blackheart reminded him of all the other fathers in the camp. Ebonycloud didn't know who his father was but Blackheart felt that way to him.
Blackheart sighed. "He...He told me to never let my guard down because I never knew who could betray me. But I also needed to learn to let people in. I needed to learn to love. And he also told me...that I needed to pas that knowledge onto my own son."
Ebonycloud perked his ears, "Did you ever have a son Blackheart?" his eyes were as round as an apprentice's who was being told a story by an elder. He wanted to know more. His tail flicked back and forth with his now lightening mood. It felt good to be able to talk to him.
Ebonycloud smiled widely. "Who? Do i know him? Is he already a warrior or an apprentice?" He bombared that larger black tom with all of his questions. His tail wagged back and forth with excitment.
