Ebonycloud brushed his tail across Mothpaw's flank. He hoped she was warming up. He would never forgive himself if she didn't get better. He rested his head on his paws and sighed. He thought of his mother Angelsoul. What would happen now?

Mothpaw sighed contentedly at Ebonycloud's sorrow and the tingly feeling of his soft tail skimming her flank. She twitched her whiskers in a cute sort of way as she rolled onto her other side. Her flank was becoming very warm and even a bit clammy.

The cat pushed herself up off the cld ground, she felt a little refreshed, but she was still starving, she was to young to hunt or fend for herself. She needed to find older cats. She starts padding along when she heard other voices and she started meowing for help again.

Ebonycloud pulled away from Mothpaw and sat up on his shaking legs. Something wasn't right. He didn't know what, but there was something wrong. He felt like had forgotten something again, but it wouldn't come back.

Ebonycloud felt Mothpaw shift next to him. He rested his tail agaisnt her check and whispered soothingly, "Go back to sleep. It will all be better in the morning." His eyes sparkled. Inside he was unsure if it would be better though. Would this feeling of peace and trust stay between Mothpaw and him? He wasn't sure. He hoped they could stay like this forever but in the morning would they be just mentor and apprentice again?

Mothpaw nodded faintly at EBonycloud's soothing words. She curled up into a ball to keep herself at a comfortable temperature and drifted off into a dreamless sleep, the fierce snow splattering around her ears.
