The Misunderstood Life of The Snow Wolf

This is a story about a wolf with a pure white pelt in a pack of wolves who all have dark pelts. He hates the way they treat him different, but has little friends to turn to. More than just that, all the other wolves are close to their mothers and fathers, but he doesn't know his father, which makes him even more different. He wants to know who his father is so he can meet him. He asks his mother time and time again but she will not tell him, so he searches for his lost father.

Chapter 1

Albus padded along the leaf covered earth, the leaves crunching beneath his paws. He caught scent of a deer straying from it's herd. He wanted to lash his tail in excitement, but stopped himself. He didn't want to startle his prey. He crouched down, creeping through the shadows. He narrowed his eyes and peered through the trees to measure where his prey was, as he had been taught as a young wolf. But the deer saw a blur of white fur through the trees, and had dashed away. When Albus leaped after it, it was too late. He growled in frusturation. The white blur in the trees was him. And he had to live with it, the fact that he had a white pelt, while the rest of the pack had brown and black shades of fur, ideal for hunting, and also fitting in with the pack. Even his own name, describing him perfectly, reminded him of his differences, for it's meaning was 'white'. He wished, not for the first time, that his white pelt could at least be a light shade of brown. But it wasn't; there was nothing he could do. He whipped around. He peered through the shadows again. The deer had distracted him from his surroundings. He was at the edge of the pack's territory. Trees ahead, a glimmer of light streamed into the forest. The light came from Outside. Outside was forbidden, it proved your loyalty to your wolf pack to be false. If a wolf went out there, he was in deep trouble, and no longer a trusted member of the pack. Albus did not care for thinking about going to
Outside. He just gave it a last look, but then he caught a glimmer of something. It was a wolf in the light from Outside. But it's pelt blended in with the bright light, but why? Albus narrowed his eyes. The wolf was white! It had a white pelt almost like his own. Albus's was a pure white, and this wolves pelt was natural, and creamy looking with a yellow tint, but it still was so much like him.  Albus's paws seemed to carry him forward, but the wolf just continued walking. Albus stopped and thought. Were there other wolves like him Outside? Would he fit in? He shook his head. He could not leave his pack. But what could it mean? Would his pelt blend in Outside-not just while hunting, but also within the other wolves Outside? He growled in frusturation and walked back to the pack's camp. He saw his mother, Nella, eating some deer. He walked up to her, ignoring the hostile glances the other
wolves shot him because of his differences. He sat down in front of her. She greeted him with a friendly swipe of her tail.  "Have you
ever been to Outside?" Albus asked softly, so none of the other wolves would hear him. Nella immediately looked up from the food she was about to take a bite from with wide eyes.
"Why? Outside is forbidden, I've told you that since you were a pup," Nella growled.
"I know, but I saw Outside today, have you ever been there?" he asked in a scarcely hearable bark.
"No, ofcourse not. It's forbidden, you know that," Nella repeated.
Albus sighed, and prepared himself to ask the next question. He almost flinched while asking it.

"Is that where my father is? If you have never been there, is that
where he went? To Outside?" he asked. He had asked about his father
many times before, his mother would never tell him anything about him.
His mother's eyes blazed for a moment, then they grew gentle, with a
tinge of sadness.
She probably missed him, Albus thought,
regretful to ask the question. But it burned inside of him, and he just
needed to know the answer to it.
"Albus, I know the other wolves have their fathers to teach them some hunting skills, while their mothers our hunting and doing regular pack routines. But the other wolves had to teach you that. That is because your father is from
Outside. He left to take care of the wolves there, with another wolf. But I cannot tell you more, Albus, thats what you wanted to know," she told Albus gently.
"Thank you, I think I'll go for a walk," Albus
replied. He immediately got to his paws and walked out of camp. He
walked to the edge of the pack's territory. What he was doing, even he
was not sure of. He just knew one thing.

He had to go to Outside.

chapter 2

Albus walked out into the open, the Outside. The sun shone on his fur. He caught sight of the white wolf he'd seen, walking away. Albus ran toward it.
"Wait! Wait!" he called. The wolf turned around and looked at Albus. He put his nose to the air and sniffed. A panicked expression flooded his face, and he took off in a run. Albus followed, wondering if Outside wolves feared wolves like himself, just like wolves like him feared Outside.
But the wolf was too fast, and after going up a small hill, he lost sight of the white wolf. He whipped around angrily, but calmed down, deciding to look around at the strange place. The grass beneath his paws was soft, and the sky was bright. He looked up, and saw a glowing orange thing. Could this be the sun? He had only seen its rays lightly coming into the forest, and had been told about it as a pup. But he had never seen it so raw, the forest was too thick.
He looked around. It was all wide expanse of grass. The sky was pink, for the sun waas going down. He'd have to find a place to sleep.
Albus wandered around for a long time, before he pricked his ears at the sound of his name, coming from the forest. He crept closer.
"We'll look in the morning, he's not around here. We'd know, his white pelt stands out," he heard one of the older wolves, Kallik say. A patrol murmured agreement, and then their voices trailed away.
When they were gone, Albus went back into the forest. If they wouldn't search anymore tonight, he could sleep in the forest, but he'd stay on the edge, near Outside. If they caught him he could run out, no wolf dared go out there, he knew.

Albus awoke, and saw many wolves around him. He squeezed his eyes shut again.
"He's awake!" one wolf barked. He had expected to run to outside, but he felt like all he could do was get up. He got to his paws.
"We looked everywhere for you, we just wasted our time because you were just hiding!" one said angrily.
"I went Outside," he declared.
"Yeah, right," one snickered.
"I did," Albus insisted. "And I only stayed for the night, I'll be returning now."
He managed to walk toward the outskirts of pack territory.
"Stop, Albus," a wolf growled. "You go out there and you can never come back to our territory. You'll be banished, and you'll be known as an enemy here from now on. It'll be easy to track you, with your white pelt."
"Try stoping me," Albus growled angrily.
The wolf who'd spoken, Dust, leaped on him, pinning him down and fiercely biting his ear. Albus struggled, and rolled over, pushing the wolf off. More wolves leaped onto him, but he struggled away. He ran toward Outside, but this was a different entrance. The bushes were thick and hard here, too hard to leap over in a jump or go through, and none of the wolves liked climbing. They had him cornered, and they leaned in.
Without thinking, he scrabbled up the thick bush wall, and leaped onto the other side. He peered through the bushes at the wolves, and they glared at him.
Then they turned around, and began running back to camp, yelling, "All wolves: A horrible wolf is loose! If found, attack him, imprison him! His pelt, not even a natural creamy white like wolves from Outside, is pure ice white, as icey as his heart! Beware this white wolf... beware the Snow Wolf!"

Chapter 3

Albus discovered many things the following days. First, for a few days, wolves would go along the border of pack territory, yelling the same warning they'd just yelled to the pack. Wolves from Outside would walk by, prick their ears, then hurry off as if going to tell their pack. Then, a group of wolves left pack territory, and went Outside, yelling warnings. They apparently went to warn other packs. Albus couldn't believe it.
Since he was a pup, he'd been told that going Outside was horrible, and it disproved your loyalty. But these wolves had been sent out to Outside, though when Albus went there, he became a villain. A completely misunderstood villain. When he went Outside, he became The Snow Wolf, and soon, his pack would be sure, he would be feared by all, and hunted like a deer. He knew how prey felt now.

He had no idea where to go. He stayed sleeping in bushes usually, hoping he wouldn't be found by any wolves. But he eventually would have to leave. He was already slowly starving, and he could never go to his former pack's territory. He'd be kept as a prisoner, treated horribly, and be surrounded by his former Clanmates, glaring at him, harsher than ever before.
Then the white wolf, well, not as white as Albus, no wolf was, that's how he earned his horrid villain name, but the wolf he'd seen Outside, returned. He walked by the bushes, and was called over by a wolf from the pack. The white wolf hesitantly walked to the edge of pack territory, and the pack wolf told him, through the bushes, the same warning known by many wolves already: A horrible wolf is loose! If found, attack him, imprison him! His pelt, not even a natural creamy white like wolves from Outside, is pure ice white, as icey as his heart! Beware this white wolf... beware the Snow Wolf!
The wolf nodded, saying his pack and many others knew already. Then he could hear the pack wolf leaving, and the white wolf turned around to go on his way. Albus leaped out of the bushes and ran over.
"Where's your pack?" Albus asked curiously.
The white wolf looked at him in horror, and jumped back.
"You," the white wolf said in a loud whisper, filled with horror. "You're The Snow Wolf."
His eyes showed horror, and Albus was so upset he nearly curled his lips into a snarl, but didn't.
"Really, does every pack know of me? Know me as The Snow Wolf?" Albus asked angrily.
"You wouldn't believe it, so many wolves know, I didn't even know there were that many packs. And even packless wolves know," the white wolf admitted, then seeing it would make Albus angry, he added, "Please, I don't mean to offend you, I only came for a walk around here."
The muscular, strong wolf, much older and wiser than Albus, looked terrified as a mere pup.
"I'm not some kind of monster! Don't talk to me like I'll rid of you at any moment!" Albus snapped in a growl, towering over the cowering wolf.
"You say that, but you wear the evidence on your shoulders," the wolf stammered. "You're whiter than snow, not like the whitest wolf in any pack yet. It is a sign, a punishment even, for your evil nature, and anywhere you go you're noticed for your snowy white pelt."
"You don't know what I've been through," Albus whispered. He was angry, but his voice showed pure sadness. "I was the only white wolf in a pack of dark pelted wolves. Your pelt is white, you fit in fine with your pack, yet you act like I'm some villain, some monster."
"Your white pelt in your birthpack is only another sign of your punishment, your pelt which you will live with as The Snow Wolf," the wolf replied. Then he began walking away, forgetting his fear at Albus's soft side. "Goodbye, villain, the packs will be on the lookout for The Snow Wolf."
He ran away. Albus sat there, and realized he was a villain, now, he could not escape it, he could not escape being hunted or feared. His true birthname was forgotten. He was The Snow Wolf.

Thank you so much, you don't know how much that means to me! :D I really tried to describe them, not only to tell the story to the reader, but to myself. I feel like I'm reading and writing the story, because I mostly write as I go along. I started by making it a story of this poor young wolf and he was going to leave his pack, and theyd search for him, and even miss him a little, and feel a bit of regret for how they hated his white coat, and albus would go discover his family's secrets and find a place where he belongs, but then the story curved into something i liked more, the introduction to a new villain, who wants more than anything to just fit in, and feel like he belongs. And he's misunderstood. I like uncovering stories of villains, I've written Tigerstar stories before, and I love reading stories uncovering villains, but I thought I'd make a new villain, but someone misunderstood, a sort of rudolph the red-nosed reindeer or something. i talk a lot, i know, im just so happy someone posted xD
