Birchpaw felt a pang of jealousy. She knew Hawkpaw was a friendly tom; That's how they met. But the way he always seemed so eager and happy to see other she-cats... She shook her head gently, willing the thoughts to go away.
Instead, she smiled and nodded in greeting to Spottedpaw.

He padded up to Lionpelt,
coughing nervously.
