Tabbystripe sat down in the middle of camp and watched the two cats head across camp. Tabbystripe wondered what it was that Lionpelt needed. Why did she sound odd, like something was bothering her, something on her mind, and what had she murmured under her breath? Tabbystripe couldn't catch what she'd said, but he was sure she'd said something, but why?
Mothdust whipped his head around. His eyes sparkled at the news, "Are you sure?" He asked and turned back to pad up to her. "How long do you think you have had them?" His tail swished side to side. This would be the first kits he would help bring in to the world.
Birchpaw watched the two cats talk. She sat and looked at her paws. She was great with herbs, but didn't remember seeing them or hearing their names. They just came to her. "Should I..." She whispered to herself, "Should I become the Medicine cat Apprentice?"

Tabbystripe thought he heard something from the den. He slowly crept forward toward it, and pricked his ears up. He didn't want to seem mean, but he was curious. And noone could see him, for he was in a bush, hiding. He heard, "Are you sure? How long do you think you've had them?" Have what? he wondered. IT could be cuts or something, but then why was Mothdust so happy sounding?
The voice that spoke before was now silent. This frightened Birchpaw, but also relaxed her. She descided she'd discuss it with Mothdust. Maybe he didn't want her to. Maybe she'd been meant to be a Warrior. Maybe the job would be unappealing to her. She shrugged the thought and padded towards the Medicine cat den.

Mothdust saw Birchpaw approaching and turned to Lionpelt, "We can discuss this later." He turned back to the young apprentice. She had a confused look on her face and he called out, "What is wrong?" His brow knitted together.
Tabbystripe began backing away, farther into the bushes as Birchpaw came by. He didn't want anyone to see him, not now. He thought he knew what Lionpelt was talking about. Lionpelt might think she was going to have kits.
Birchpaw took a deep breath and relaxed her face. "What's it like being a Medicine cat?" She asked, sitting down. She wanted to know as much as possible before she made a descision.

Mothdust tilted his head to the side with thought, "Well... first of all you arent allowed to fall in love so it can become very lonely." His gaze became distant for a moment then he refocused. "You are respected by all the cats and are allowed special privalages. But most of the time you are cooped up in camp." He sighed harshly, "Your paws might itch for battle but you might never see a fight. You might only see the after affects." He looked at the sky again, "But it can be very mysterious. You get to talk to your warrior ancestors..." he lowered his voice, "Or so i have been told." His voice went back to normal, "You get the praise for healing others. You are entrusted with their lives. You get to be the first to see newborn kits." HE smiled softly. He loved kits dearly but knew his fate to have his own would never happen.
