RE: Before the Bite -In progress-

Part 1-5

A lanky young man stood on a bridge watching the river flow steadily by. He sighed heavily as his pale green eyes stared in to the distance. This bridge was so familiar to him, one of the only places that could calm him. Now he was going to be forced to leave it. He leaned against the wooden side rails of the bridge. His head hang low on his shoulders. He pushed off the rail and straightened up. He pulled on his fathers large brown leather jacket.

The young man ran a hand through his spiky golden brown hair. He turned from the bridge and headed for his small farmhouse. He shoved his slender hands in to his pockets and sighed once more. Why do I have to leave? He thought to himself, I have lived here for seventeen years. I thought everything was fine. His mouth pulled in to his unusual frown. Depression simmered in his pale green eyes.

"Jordan!" a familiar voice called from his front porch, "Time for dinner!" Jordans head raised a little as he peered down the road to see his mother standing in her loose pink tee shirt and dark blue jeans. He picked up his pace obediently and passed through the fence to their yard. His mothers bright blonde hair was pulled in to a neat ponytail and her large blue eyes looked at him sympathetically. "I know how much you hate the city Jordan but I was offered a nice job. We will be able to live comfortably and your father will be closer to work also."

Jordan merely frowned but said nothing. He entered the small house and sat at the wooden table in the kitchen. His mother grabbed a plate and placed a burger on it with some fries. Jordan stood from the table and walked over to her side, "Mom let me do that. You have been on your feet all day." He said softly and reached for the plate in his mothers hands. His mother gave a tired smile and let him take the plate. "Go sit down at the table." He said to her. She obeyed him and sat at the table. Jordan followed behind her and placed the plate in front of her. Just then the front door opened and Jordans father walked in.

His father removed his hat the reveal a balding head of dark brown hair. His deep brown eyes were worn from the days work but he had a cheerful smile. "Hey there sport." He said in his husky voice. Jordan smiled at his father.

"Welcome back." He said lovingly. Jordan loved his father dearly. The man worked harder than anyone he had ever known but still managed to take care of his family. He had always been there for him, from teaching him how to be kind and gentle to teaching him how to defend the ones he loved, even if it meant but force. Jordan stepped up to his father. His father grabbed Jordan and gave him a large hug. Jordan pulled away and walked back to the stove, "Come on Dad lets get you something to eat."

Jordans dad walked slowly to the table and sat heavily in to a chair, "Tomorrow the truck gets here." He said softly and looked at Jordan. Jordans shoulders slumped down but he got his father a burger and some fries. He turned and placed them in front of his father. He went and got himself some too.

"Dont worry dad." He said, "I am alright. Moving might be a good thing." He looked away. "I am just sad that I wont be able to spend my birthday here." He heard his father sigh and Jordan lowered his head.

"I am sorry Jordan, but we have to move." His father said firmly. Jordan nodded his head slowly.

"I know." He growled. Jordans father narrowed his eyes but went back to eating his dinner. Jordan sighed and finished his food. He stood from the table and placed his dishes in the sink. He walked away slowly and climbed the stairs to his room. It was all packed up except for his mattress, a pillow and a small blanket. That was all right though. It was August and it wasnt to cold. He flopped on to his bed and rested his head against the small pillow. He closed his eyes and drifted off in to sleep.

Jordan awoke the next day with a frown. He climbed out of bed and stumbled down the steps. He scratched his head and looked around. No one was up yet. He checked the clock and his eyes closed. Of course no one was up. It was six in the morning on a Saturday. He sighed and looked at himself. He was still wearing his cloths from yesterday. He placed his hands on his hips and looked around determinedly. He couldnt feel depressed forever.

He walked around the house packing the last minute things and stacked them in boxes. He brought boxes from upstairs to the living room. Jordan wiped his brow and looked around. Everything was in the front room now and could easily be put in the truck when it got here. He looked at the ceiling and listened. His parents were still asleep. "Dad?: he called, just in case. There was no answer. Jordan shrugged and walked outside. The sun was up over the vast plains.

Jordan was really going to miss this place but it couldnt be helped. He walked down the steps of the front porch and walked to the dirt road. He followed it until he came to the bridge again.

Leaning on the edge of the bridge rail was Jordans old friend Ben. Hey Ben. He called out. This boy was a whole foot shorter than Jordan. He had his dark brown hair slicked back and a dark pair of sunglasses on. He wore a loose leather jacket, a deep red shirt, and baggy blue jeans. Jordan gave his unusual frown at the sight of him.

"Hey J." he said. Jordan rolled his eyes. For some odd reason Ben was going through some sort of rebellious period or something. Ben was the one who really belonged in the cities. "You guys are finally moving then?" he asked as he let the sunglasses slip down his nose so he could stare at Jordan with his dark brown eyes.

"Guess so." Jordan replied. He walked slowly past Ben and on to the bridge. He leaned over and looked down at the water. "Dont really want to though." Ben walked to Jordans side and punched him in the arm. Jordan pulled away and rubbed his arm carefully.

"What do you mean you dont want to?! There are so many hot chicks in big cities. I would give anything to be in your shoes right not." Ben growled at Jordan. The shorter boys turned and stormed off the bridge back to the direction of his fathers farm. Jordan narrowed his eyes and stormed back home.

"So what if there are good looking girls in the city? None of them would like me anyways." He muttered. He made the long trek straight back to the farm to find a large moving truck next to the house. It was open and already had many of the items of his house inside. Jordans father turned to him and smiled.

"Hey there Sport." He called out. Jordan waved a hand back at his father, but said nothing. For some odd reason the moving truck gave him a bad feeling. Like there was something horrible waiting for him in the big city. He shoved his hands in his pockets. Once he went to the city he knew he was never going to be the same kid again.

Jordan stood on a steamy street outside a large apartment building. He narrowed his eyes at it and hunched his shoulders. He felt a large hand press down on his head and tussle his spiky hairy. He shook it off and looked at his father, "Seriously? We left home for this?" He grudgingly pointed his thumb at the dump of a building. Jordans father frowned at him.

"Come on Sport. Its not that bad." Jordans father pulled his hand from his sons head. "We do have some news for you though." He said darkly. "You wont have to live here." Jordans eyes grew wide and he tilted his head in confusion.

"Why wouldnt I live here?" he questioned as his brows furrowed. Jordans father looked away and rubbed his neck uncomfortably.

"Well, we found a really nice school for you on the other side of the city. Its got all the things that you could ever want to do." His father said trying to convince Jordan.

"Why is it on the other side of the city?" Jordans pale green eyes grew very worried. Jordans father looked away.

I"ts a boarding school, alright?" he growled. Jordan flinched away and curled his hands in to fists.

"A boarding school!? Why?" Jordan stared at his father in disbelief. He had just had to move away from his childhood home and now he was going to be separated from his family? Jordan backed away a few paces, "When is it I have to go?" He clenched his teeth.

"Actually," his father started, "Your mother and I think it would be best if you started right away. They have been in school for about a week and we think that if you dont get comfortable here it would be easier for you to settle in there." Jordans father smiled trying to apologize with his angelic smile. That was the one thing he and his father shared. Jordan looked away and he felt his shoulders tremble in fury.

"Yes sir". He grumbled trying to keep his anger under control. He backed away from his father. "You want me to go there now?" He turned his burning eyes to his father. Jordans dad merely nodded. Jordan turned to see his mother holding their car door open waiting for him to hop in. "Whatever." He muttered. He shoved his hands in to the leather jacket he had on. He remembered it was his fathers but he didnt turn to give it back. He still loved his father and wanted this to have as a sort of security blanket.

He slid on to the passenger seat and closed the door behind him. His mother slid in to the drivers seat and closed her door. She reached across the car and rested a hand on his knee, "Dont worry, we are only doing this for you." She whispered to him. Jordan nodded and pressed his forehead to the window. Jordans mother started the car and drove down the street.

Jordan watched the outside pass before his eyes. This city was so vast he was sure he would never be able to find his way back to his family. He rubbed his forehead trying to get rid of the headache that surfaced. He was so used to the endless open plains of his farm. He made his unusual frown and looked ahead. His eyes scanned the bright city for anything that might resemble a school. He sat in the car and occasionally checked the clock. The time ticked by and about two hours passed before he growled, "Just how far is the other side of town?"

Jordans mom laughed a bit, "This is a big city son." She made a right turn signal and turned in to a large parking lot. Jordans mouth opened as he stared at a large white school building. This was going to be his home for his schooling was over.

Jordan glared at a wooden door with the number 126 on it. He growled softly to himself and shuffled his feet beneath him. This room was going to be the one he was going to live in while he was here. He and his mother had gone in and talked to a counselor about where he would be living, eating, and what classes he would take. He pulled his class schedule out of his pocket and glared at it. In the morning he had physics, after that he had Algebra 2, then welding, and a government class all before lunch.

He growled softly to himself. These were junior classes even though he was supposed to be a senior. The people running this school thought it best to keep him at junior level because he was home schooled. It didnt make any sense to him but he would endure. He stared at the two remaining classes on the list. He had to take English 3 right after lunch and then a very basic course. He had been stuck in typing.

This is the worst, he thought to himself. He looked down at the small suitcases he had brought with him. One had his regular wear in it and the other had a weeks worth of school uniforms. He hated the uniforms. They were a pair of gray slacks, a button up long sleeve or short sleeve white shirt with a collar and a dark blue vest to go over the top. In the winter they were allowed to have a regular jacket with them.

Jordan shoved his schedule in to his pocket and opened his dorm room. Inside it was a small room that looked similar to a large bedroom. There was a bunk bed in the far left corner and a small window beside it. On the left wall there was a desk that was clear and on the right wall there was another desk with papers and various other items strewn about. He walked in carefully glancing around. There was a door on the right wall that led in to the bathroom. He glanced at the desk on the right wall and back to the open bathroom door. If it was anything like the desk he would wait to go in.

Jordan turned his pale green eyes to the bed against the wall. The top bunk had the blankets pulled back and cloths hanging over the side. "Great," Jordan muttered. He placed his suitcases on the bottom bunk and began to unpack. There was a small closet on the left wall with two different doors, one for each person to place their stuff.

Jordan spent the rest of the day unpacking and setting up for bed. He went to the little closet that he claimed and gabbed a pair of pajama pants. After he quickly changed them he hopped in to his bed and rested his head on his pillow. Going to sleep early was one of his habits. The earlier to bed, the earlier to rise, his father had always said. He looked at the electric clock on the desk that said 7:14. Where was his roommate? Were they allowed to be out his late? Jordan shrugged and closed his eyes.

Suddenly the door crashed open and in staggered a large muscled boy with floppy brown hair and dazed brown eyes. Jordan sat up and gave his unusual frown. The new boy stared at him and sneered, "So, youre my new roommate then?" Jordan said nothing; he only stared at the new boy. "Say something, or are you deaf?" the edge of Jordans mouth quirked up ever so slightly. He pressed a hand to his ear as if he couldnt hear and shook his head no. He made various hand signs that meant nothing, but made it look like he knew what he was doing.

The new boy smirked and paced forward. "I am going to have so much fun with this," he said viciously. Jordan moved his mouth to form the words, so am I. His pale green eyes were on fire with mischief and determination. He wouldnt let this boy get the best of him. More than likely he had made his first enemy at the school. What was worse was it was his roommate.

Jordan walked up the steps that led to the academy. He had gotten dressed early that morning and left without waking up his roommate. His head hung low and he shoved one hand in to his pocket while he used the other to hold on to his backpack strap. School wasnt going to start for another half an hour so Jordan had time to kill. He decided to find all of his classes. A few students passed by him and stared. He turned his pale green eyes to them. They were a group pleasant looking girls. They were all staring at him and batting their eyelashes.

Jordan shuddered and kept walking through the halls. He looked around and found a sign on a wall that showed arrows to where certain classrooms could be found. He turned and leaned against the wall and pressed his hand to his forehead. "Home schooling is so much easier." He mumbled. He lifted his head and watched a few more people pass by. Jordan looked down the hall when he saw a shadow move across the lockers but he heard no footsteps. He tilted his head to the side to watch the owner of the shadow whip around the corner. Her face was in a tight scowl and her brilliant green eyes stared determinedly forward. She held a textbook and a binder full of paper tightly to her chest.

Jordans eyes grew wide as he watched her gracefully storm down the hall. Her long blonde hair billowed out behind her as she passed in front of Jordan. His mouth hung open for a moment before he closed it again. She was a few feet away from him when a group of girls turned and glared at her. One causally stuck out her foot as a trap. The graceful girl didnt see the foot and tripped sending her book and binder flying. The binder hit the floor and the papers flew everywhere.

Jordan pushed off the wall with anger burning in his eyes. He stormed forward to help her but the girl pushed herself back up on to her scrapped knees. She turned her fuming green eyes to the girls and sneered, "Honestly? You think you can embarrass me by making me trip? Just what are you trying to prove?"

The group of girls backed away but said nothing. Their eyes were wide with shock. Jordans own eyes were wide. He couldnt help the large smile the spread itself across his face. "Hey," he called to the group of girls, "Why must you horrible girls make yourselves even more hideous by trying to harm the pretty girls?" The girls glared at him but he only smiled, "I would suggest you move on now. I am not from around these parts, but where I am from its alright to hit girls." His smiled became colder and the girls eyes stretched wider. The all turned and raced off down the hall. Jordan smirked and walked over to the girl on the floor.

He collected many of the paper that were strewn about and handed them over to the girl. She looked at him with piercing eyes. "If you think I will feel obligated to go out with you think again." She snapped at him. Jordan flinched away for a second and lifted his hands as if to defend himself.

"Dont worry. I am only trying to help. Where I come from its polite to help one another." He said warmly. The girl watched him warily but took the papers from him gently. Jordan felt his eyes grow softer and he couldnt help his fathers smile spreading across his face. His angelic smile touched his eyes as he handed the rest of the papers to her. She took them and stood abruptly. She didnt look at him and he could see a faint blush touch her cheeks. It made his cheeks blush slightly.

"Thanks." She said softly and marched the rest of the way down the hall. Jordan watched her go and smiled softly.

Jordan sat in his fourth period government history class. His head hung low on his shoulders as he stared at the teacher with blank eyes. The bell rang letting them know to leave for lunch. Jordan packed his bag as all the other people raced for the door. He sighed and stood. He walked out the door and looked around. The cafeteria wasnt to far so Jordan paced slowly toward it. There were few carts of food waiting outside so he bought a burger from there instead of going inside. He turned and walked back down the halls.

There were so many people here. Jordan tried to focus on all the faces and found himself starting to breath heavily. His eyes opened wide and he grasped at his collar and unbuttoned it. Beads of sweat dripped down his back and he started to shake. There were to many people here. Jordan wanted to go back to the countryside. At least there he could see three feet before he saw another person.

Jordan felt a hand clamp down on his shoulder and whip him around. Staring up at him was the scowl he had seen this morning. He almost gasped. It was the girl from earlier. She grasped his arm and pulled on it, "Come on you useless lug." She growled at him. He only nodded and followed behind her. His pale green eyes stared at the floor until he heard a large clank. He looked up and saw the girl had brought him to the entrance to the school. Air flowed by his face and he gratefully drank it in.

The girl refused to let go of his arm and dragged him outside. Half pulling, half dragging Jordan, the girl managed to bring him down the steps until they were on the grassy entrance way in to the school. Jordans eyes caught sight of a tree and he got his strength back. He sped up and almost dragged her along until they reached the tree. He stumbled in to the shade and crashed down on to his stomach, pulling her along with him.

She landed right next to him and grunted as she hit the floor. "What are you doing?" Jordan just gasped for air and flipped over on to his back. She stared at him harshly. Jordan turned his pale green eyes to her.

"Thanks," he started, "You saved my life." His angelic smile spread across his face and he saw hers turn just a tad bit red. She turned away so she wasnt looking at him.

"Whatever," she said, sounding like she was trying hard not to care. Jordan propped himself on to his elbows and continued to smile. He reached a hand toward her, but she glared at it warily.

"I dont bite." Jordan chuckled, "I just wanted a hand shake. Where I come from its a polite way of making friends." Jordan forced himself to sit up despite the sweat that still dripped down his face. The girl relaxed a bit and took his hand, "Im Jordan by the way," he said with another smile. He saw a small smile touch her lip. Just that small smile lit up her face completely. Jordan felt a lump in his throat and he felt a blush on his face.

"Im Destiny." She said with a slight giggle. Jordan looked down in embarrassment. Her laugh sounded like small bells.

"Its nice to know your name." His voice cracked boyishly as he said this. Destiny pressed a hand over her mouth in oblivious effort to stop laughing. Jordan just smiled and couldnt contain his own laughter. After a moment Destiny joined in the laugher also. Jordan wasnt quite sure what they were laughing about, and he really didnt care. I think I am going to like it here, he thought to himself.

Part 6-9

Jordan stared at the smoggy blue sky while Destiny shifted uncomfortably a little distance away. "Whats wrong?" he asked curiously and turned his eyes to her. She frowned at him and shifted again.

"Just not used to sitting with anyone." She turned her head slightly in his direction as Jordan rolled his eyes.

"Come on, its not that bad. I am not going to do anything to you so you dont have to be so tense." He muttered softly and he saw her frown quirk up just slightly. Jordan scratched the back of his head in a bit of embarrassment. "How old are you?" he asked innocently. Destiny instantly stood and stormed a few paces away, leaving Jordan with his mouth hanging open. He scrambled to his feet and stumbled after her. "What? What did I say?" She stopped right in front of him almost making him crash in to her.

Destiny pressed her finger harshly against his chest. "No. Dont even think about it." She growled lowly at him. Jordan was really confused.

"Hey what is your problem?" he growled back, "I am not like you city pigs alright? All I wanted to do was get to know you better all right? I wasnt thinking of anything inappropriate." He slapped her hand off of his chest. Destinys eyes stretched wide as she rubbed her hand. "I told you, I have no problem hitting a person who has insulted me. What I do have a problem with is hitting a lady and just now you have pushed your luck with my image of you!" Jordan bit back his tongue before the rest of his thoughts escaped.

Destinys face scowled at him and turned red with anger. "Your just like the rest of them." She sneered at him. Jordan rolled his eyes and pushed past her, bumping her shoulder as he passed. He heard an oof and kept going. His shoulders trembled with anger. Light footsteps haunted him as he climbed the steps of the school. "Wait!" he heard her call.

Jordan whipped around and growled, "What? You want me to apologize or something? You can forget it." Destiny stared at him angrily with her fists clenched at her side. She took a deep breath and shook her head.

"No you dont have to apologize but," She reached out a hand to him, "We are even." Jordan was confused and tilted his head, "You helped me with the girls and I helped you be able to breath. Neither of us owes each other anything." Jordan scoffed slightly and gasped her hand. It felt like lightning crawled up through his arm but he shook her iron hard grip firmly. He turned away and walked back to the entrance. He heard Destinys light footsteps beside him keeping pace easily. She was shorter and her legs werent as long but she kept up anyway.

Destiny turned her eyes to him and he to hers. Their eyes met and Jordan felt just a small smile touch his lips, "Am I forgiven then?" Destiny looked at him with confusion, "For slapping your hand. I kind of lose my temper a lot." He said softly.

"I guess so." She sighed but a smile touched her lips as well. As they walked down the halls a few people stared at them wide eyed.

Jordan turned to Destiny and asked, "Why are they staring?"

Destiny didnt look back at him but merely kept walking as she answered," They are surprised to see my talking, let alone walking with anyone. Jordan tilted his head in confusion, "I have been here for two years and havent had very many friends. So when they see me talking to you they are surprised." Jordan scoffed lightly.

"They can shove it in their ears." He hissed. Destiny smiled softly at that.

Jordan opened the door to his dorm room and sighed happily. Today he had made his first friend and what was better was that they shared the same Six Period together. They were both stuck in typing and the teacher sat them next to each other. Jordan was rather happy about this. Though when he talked to Destiny in class she seemed rather hesitant to talk back to him. She would only speak a few words, and her eyes tended to glance around warily. Though every now and again her eyes would calm and focus back on him, only then could he catch a hint of blush touch her cheeks.

Jordan flopped on to his bed and rested his head tender on his pillow. A loud crash from the door signaled his roommates return. "Hey!" he boomed, "I thought you were deaf!" Jordan looked at him innocently. The boy strode across the room and grasped Jordans lanky form by the shirt, "Answer me!" Jordan smirked.

"My, my, my, dont we have a temper." Jordan sneered at the large boy. At that comment his roommates face turned a deep crimson. "I might ask how did you figure it out? Though I am sure even a rock could have figured it out in a second." The boy lifted Jordan off of the bed and held him in the air. Jordans feet dangled a few inches from the ground and he coughed as his air was being choked out of him.

The large boys eyes glowed in his rage. They glowed an almost yellowish color. Jordan would have gasped if he had been given the chance to breath. His roommate smashed him against the wall. "I am going to make you pay for making me look like an idiot." He growled ominously. Jordan tried to laugh but it sounded more like wheezing.

"You dont need me to look like an idiot." He jeered back. Jordans pale green eyes twinkled with a mocking laughter. His roommate lifted his right fist and cracked it across Jordans left eye. The large boy growled when Jordan didnt utter a sound at the attack. Jordans face began to turn red from the hit. His pale green eyes turned back to the large boy, "You hit like a girl." He sneered. The other boy roared in rage. He slung Jordan across the room with all of his strength. Jordan crashed against the wall and slumped to the floor. His body refused to move without at least a few seconds to recuperate. Pale green eyes met yellow eyes and lightning crackled between the two.

Without warning the boy stormed out of the room, crashing in to the door as he left. "You will pay!" He roared as he made his way in to the hall. After a few seconds of listening, Jordan heard the stomps of his roommate fade down the hallway. Once he was sure the boy was gone Jordan gasped for air. He placed a hand over his chest and drank in the air like he had never had to before. He coughed a few times until his breathing became steady. He placed a hand on his forehead. The world seemed to become darker.

Shadows danced on the edge of his vision. "Great," he muttered. Jordan stood on his shaky legs and stumbled in to the bathroom. He looked at his face. The left side of his it was swelling from where he had been punched. He touched it tenderly, "At least the brute didnt ruin my eye."

Jordan turned from the mirror and took off his school uniform. He quickly changed in to his pajamas and stumbled back to the bed. Once the blankets were pulled back he slid carefully on to the bed. He pulled the covers over his chest. His breathing was still a little ragged but he managed. Jordan closed his sore eyes and let the shadows come. He welcomed their cold embrace and slipped off in to a deep dreamless sleep. His body relaxed and he breathing slowed. The raggedness of his breath evened out and he slept soundly.

Jordan ran a hand through his somewhat long hair. He hadnt jelled it today, so it wasnt spiky. His nervous pale green eyes stared down in to the fuming green ones of his friend. "Who did this?!" She practically shouted at him. Jordan scratched the back of his head nervously. He wasnt quite sure if he should tell her. Destiny looked like she was in the mood to kill someone. Jordan gulped harshly and smiled disarmingly.

"Honestly it was nothing. There is no reason to be so upset. To tell you the truth I dont know why you are so upset in the first place." He mumbled. Destiny let out a short frustrated sigh, before she turned away.

"You dont have to tell me but it would be nice if you trusted me enough." She glanced back at him, but the glance was something akin to a glare. He shrugged lightly and stepped away.

"Really Destiny it was nothing. It wont happen again, I promise." His mouth pulled in to an embarrassed smile. He wasnt sure why he had to explain himself to her or why she even cared. The younger girl let out a sigh of frustration again and turned to walk down the hall. Jordan chased after her and glanced at the clock on the wall. It was almost time to go to class. "Destiny wait up!" he called from a distance behind. His eyes scanned her back and admired the fluid movements of the graceful girl. His breath caught in his throat before he shook it off.

She turned to glance over her shoulder, but she didnt slow down. Jordan made his lanky legs speed up to a trot and managed to catch up with her. He rested a hand on her shoulder almost forcing her to slow down. "Are you ready to tell me who did this?" she asked with a frown. Jordan caught a hidden look of worry in her eyes. He sighed lightly with something similar to contentment.

"No, its really nothing you should trouble yourself over. Honestly it was just a little scrap fight and I can solve it." He smiled at her once more and a faint hint of a blush touched her cheeks. "Please believe me. If anything else happens you will be the first person to know about it, but for now I will keep it a secret okay?" She frowned at him but nodded slowly. "See its not that bad." He chuckled softly. He grasped her hand in his and rested her palm against his bruised cheek and eye. "Just a little swollen." His breath caught in his throat as he held her hand in his. Her hand is so small, he thought to himself. A small embarrassed smile spread across his face.

Destinys cheek color deepened a bit and she pulled her hand away slowly, just ever so slightly caressing his cheek as she went. A deeper blush spread across Jordans face. He shoved his hands on his pockets and looked at his feet. "Well, I will see you later." His voice cracked as he said this. A small laugh arose from Destiny and Jordan admired the sound. It was like listening to a wind chime on a his old front porch watching the sun blaze across the sky turning it a deep magenta as it set. His breath refused to loosen from his throat.

He looked up at her to see her hand covering her mouth as she tried to hold back the laughter. Jordan felt a laugh rise from within himself. He couldnt help but let it out. His voice was a contrast to hers. It was like the soft howling wind that made the chime ring with its beautiful sound and moved the clouds in to the blazing suns light giving the horizon a beautiful shine. Jordan rested his hand against the back of his head as their laughter died down to a soft ringing in the halls. A few kids stared them as they passed almost sneering at the two.

Jordan ran a slim hand through his long golden locks. They had grown so much in the past year. He stared in to the mirror with a picture of how he looked just one year ago. His face was rather long and skinny. Innocent pale green stared out of the picture back in to his older and yet still innocent eyes. His face had finally evened out and long messy golden bangs hung loosely in front of his eyes. He had been lanky and very thin the year before and now he had filled out. His athletic muscles filled in to his uniform just nicely.

Jordan smiled at himself in the mirror, and there still was his one link to his father. His angelic small brimmed on his face, almost making the mirror glow. He turned from the bathroom and walked in to his room. Now that he was a senior he was allowed a room to himself, he was rather grateful for that. The last year had been horrible. He never knew when his roommate would return and beat him to a pulp.

Jordan fixed the tie on his neck and put on his leather jacket. He glanced outside to see all of the Halloween decorations up, giving away the time of year. Jordan smiled softly. There was going to be a dance at the end of the week, Friday the thirteenth. His birthday, and it was Monday this day. Last year he had missed the October dance because he hadnt known about it, but this year was different. It was girls choice and he knew he and Destiny would be going together. They did everything together, within reason.

Jordan ran a nervous hand through his hair to slick it back. With one last look in the mirror he headed to the schools campus. Making sure to make himself look his best he sauntered in to the schools double doors. He walked through the halls, pale green eyes turning every which way to find Destiny. Just like on his first day at school a shadow passed by the wall and Jordan turned to see the breathtaking form of Destiny walking through the hall with a scowl on her face. Despite her grumpy outer moods she was rather fun. Jordan smiled at her and caught a hint of blush on her cheeks. She was now a junior and seventeen years old. Jordan had managed in the last year to convince her to tell him her age. He was glad he was only about two years older.

As she came closer Jordan fixed his hair again. Destiny lifted a brow at him and scoffed, "Since when are you so careful about your appearance?" Her comment hurt Jordan a bit.

"Well I was just wondering if you had anyone in mind for the dance?" He asked softly.

"So, you fix your hair because you want to know?" She asked a little sarcastically. Jordan shoved his hands in his pockets.

"Never mind." He sighed and turned from her. As he walked down the hall out of the corner of his eye he saw Destiny keeping pace with him perfectly. Jordan turned and stared ahead with a scowl.

"What is wrong with you all of a sudden?" Destiny asked eyeing him suspiciously. Jordan growled softly and walked a little faster. Destinys mouth set in to a firm frown as she sped up a little also. "What is wrong?" she asked again a little more forceful.

"Nothing." He said with a finalizing voice. Destiny rolled her eyes at him and separated herself a modest distance from him. That hurt Jordans heart a bit. His eyes turned back to her and didnt focus on the path ahead. "Listen." He said and a great force knocked him back on to his butt. Jordan looked up in surprise. What had knocked him over? There on the ground about a foot away was a small girl with dark brown hair rubbing her elbow, which she no doubt landed. Jordan stood immediately and began to pick up the man papers she had dropped.

"I am so sorry" he said quickly trying to make sure she wasnt mad. He grasped most of the papers and turned to help her up. She looked up at him with hazel eyes that had a few tears in them. Jordan gasped at she grasped his hand and he pulled her up, "Are you alright? I am so sorry! Man I am such a klutz! Do you want me to take you to the nurses office?" His pale green eyes were glazed with worry.

She looked back up at him and shook her head, "Sorry, but thats not what I am crying about," she sniffled a bit and Jordan made his unusual frown.

"What happened?" He asked softly. She looked back at him and a hint of a blush touched her cheeks.

"My boyfriend just broke up with me so I dont have a date to the dance." She sniffled once more. Jordan frowned and opened his mouth to talk but he heard someone cough in a meaningful way. Jordan turned his eyes in that direction and saw Destiny with her arms crossed over her chest and a scowl on her face. Jordan lifted a brow at her and turned back to the young girl in front of him.

"I am really sorry about that. Is there anyone else you would like to go with? I can help you if you want." With mouth pulled in to a soft smile. He heard Destiny scoff just a bit. Jordan turned his eyes to her and gave her a glare.

"Would you really help me?" the girl asked.

Jordan turned back to her with a smile, "Of course. I would like to help you. I am Jordan." He said and stretched a hand out to her. She grasped it tenderly.

"I am Faith." She replied as her eyes sparkled at him. She smiled as a tiny blush touched her cheek. Jordan smiled widely at her. "What grade are you in?" she asked him.

"I will tell you if you tell me your grade," he chuckled a bit and he heard Destiny groan at him. The young girl turned a glance to Destiny and tilted her head a bit.

"I am a freshman." She said a little sheepishly as she saw Destiny turn a bored irritated glance at her.

"I am a senior," Jordan replied nicely as she turned back to him.

"Is she you girlfriend?" Faith asked as she pointed at Destiny.

Jordan shook his head sadly, "Nope, we are best friends though." He turned to see Destiny give the girl a protective glance.

"So you would like to help me?" she asked. Jordan nodded at her, "Would you mind taking me to the dance?" she asked hopefully. Jordan looked at her a little surprised. He turned to look at Destiny, but all he saw was another bored look. Jordan felt his heart sink. He turned back to Faith with a smile.

"Yes, I would like to escort you to the dance." He smiled a bit. The young girls face blushed a little more at Jordans gentlemanly charm. Jordan turned from her and said, "I will meet up with you later okay?" Faith nodded.

"Would you mind meeting up with me later toady?" she asked. Jordan smiled.

"Where at?" he asked politely. Destiny glared at him but he ignored it.

"In the school courtyard." She smiled and Jordan nodded. He turned and headed for his first class period. Destiny walked beside him easily. She kept a steady glare on him.

"I will be going to the dance with Matt," she said with a bit of growl in her voice.
Jordan turned an angry glance to her, "Whatever," he growled as he stormed off.

The new parts

Jordan glanced at the watch on his wrist as he pelted down the halls toward the schools court. He had had to stay after class for a moment to talk to his teacher and now he was late for meeting Faith. He breath came out ragged as he burst through the double doors of the school. Sitting under one of the trees was the small girl with a sort of dejected look on her face. Jordan sighed heavily. That was more than likely his fault.

He ran a hand through his messy hair and quickly made his way down the steps of the school. He quietly crept behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder. She nearly jumped out of her skin as she whipped around to see his face. "I am sorry I couldnt make it earlier. I was held up by my teacher." He apologized breathlessly from the sprint.

A large young smile spread on Faiths face, "Dont worry about it. I am just glad you came." She giggled. Jordan couldnt help but smile. Her laugh was much different than Destinys. It was a little coarser and lighter. It wasnt as pleasant to listen to but it was still nice for a young girl.

"So," he started, "What is it you wanted?" He asked curiously. The young girl stood and grasped his hand in hers.

"A date of course!" Her young eyes sparkled but Jordan was confused.

"Arent dates for couples," His voice innocent despite his age. The young girls mouth quivered in to a smile.

"Yes of course dates are for couples and we are a couple!" She leapt up and hugged his arm tightly. Jordans eyebrow lifted in surprise.

"What are you talking about? I only invited you to the dance." His voice was very troubled. He had never been a couple with anyone. He really didnt want to really. Not with just anyone. Especially a girl he just met.

Faith looked at him with tears in her eyes, "Please, I really like you Jordan. You came to me after my boyfriend broke up with me. It must be destiny." Jordan couldnt help but chuckle inwardly. An image of his best friend passed through his mind. The scowl he was all too familiar with. The graceful way her hips swayed as she walked.

"Honestly I dont feel that way about you." He said truthfully. "If I was ever to feel that way it would have to be after I got to know you." He gently pulled his arm from her, "What you are feeling is attraction to my physical appearance. That isnt love or even liking. That is lust." His mouth held a smile that a brother would she to his sister. It was but in a different way.

Faith gave him a frown but nodded softly, "Alright we can take it slow. Sooner or later you are going to see what a great girl I am and you will ask me out yourself." Jordan shuddered at the intensity in the young girls voice. Was this really how dating worked? If it was he really didnt like it.

"Sure and if you dont manage to find a way to persuade me you are a great girl then none of this will be considered dating." He replied to her. His pale green eyes were cold and didnt convey any feelings toward her.

Faith made a smirk and grasped his hand again, "Alright then! Lets get going!" She tugged him but he didnt budge. He sighed and stepped forward. He looked down at her. She glanced back up at him and her eyes burned as though she was looking at her possession. What have I gotten myself in to? He thought.

After the War -Interlude-

One pale green eye fluttered up as a faint trace of the sun filtered in past the old drapes on the window. An angelic smile spread on this mans face as he turned over and pulled his bed covers off. He turned his right open eye to the other side of his bed to see it nicely made. His smile grew even wider as he heard shouts and laughing coming from the hall outside of his little country room.

He stood from his bed and stretched luxuriously as he walked toward the old window drapes. As he pulled them back the light of a Saturday morning sun graced his face. He opened the window and breathed the countryside air in deeply. His eye scanned small farm, while his other eye remained scarred like it had for the past ten years.

The three cows they own grazed in a small pasture a ways off from the house. A field of corn grew not far from them. A small garden was out side the back door filled with various vegetables. He heard a soft whicker from the four horses the owned. His, a large bay stallion, pawed the ground a few times before he continued grazing. He turned from the window and walked though his room to the bathroom. He glanced in the mirror with his good eye to see his deep gold hair cut somewhat short. His pale green eye stared out past his good side will the other side of his face was scarred from a fight he had been in.

But it was no ordinary fight. He still had the ferociousness in him to be able to fight like that again. He touched the scar lightly. He had battle a beautiful creature with blood red eyes that had threatened his whole way of living. He himself had shifted forms, from man, to wolf. He was, believe it or not, a werewolf. The creature he had fought to the death with was a vampire. He had snapped her neck but not before she damaged his eye beyond what his healing powers could fix.

He heard more laughing in the hall as he splashed water on his face to wake up. He grabbed a towel and dried his face gently. As he walked to the door in to the hall, two young blonde haired boys of about eight years old ambushed him. They nearly tackled him to the ground. The man laughed and bit as he tickled them sending their voices in to glorious laughter.

"Daddy!" they laughed together. "Mommy, already made breakfast its time to eat," One of the boys giggle. His hair was as pale blonde as his brothers yet his eyes were pale green with his brothers was a deep green. The man grabbed the boys in to a big hug and pulled them with him. As he walked in to the living room of their farmhouse, he held on boy under each arm.

Standing in the white kitchen was a thin woman with pale blonde haircut to her shoulder length. She turned her brilliant green eyes toward him. A scowl that he had grown to love was plastered on her face. The man smiled at her with love in his eyes. Its about time you got up, she frowned at him. Her voice was smooth and had grown just a tad bit deeper over the years. Before it was like tiny bells and now it sounded like a soft stream babbling over small rocks. It was deep and made his spine shiver with awe.

The womans scowl quirked up as she tried to hold in her laughter at the dumbfounded look in his eye. "Honestly Jordan," she chided, I hate it when you dont act like you should when I yell at you. She walked forward. Her feet made no noise and her body swayed gracefully.

More shivers ran up his spine as she placed a hand on his chest and stared up at him with her beautiful eyes. A small wiggle in his arms reminded him of the two boys he held in his arms. He gently placed them down before he grabbed the womans left hand in his. The two boys raced away toward the kitchen table. Jordan pulled her hand up to his tender lips and kissed the back gently. He heard her soft laugh as he glanced up at her. On her left hand was a small wedding band and a blue class ring. He remembered that night where he was so desperate to show her he loved her. He hadnt told her more than two days earlier that he loved her. Yet then again, they had always known about their love for one another. He had proposed to her with his class ring to show her how much he truly cared for her.

On that day, the war had begun. Now ten years later they were finally free. Yet when he gazed at her, she look like she had aged at all. Her body was now perhaps the age of a twenty year old. And his was the age of a twenty two year old. He thought perhaps it had something to do with mentally maturing a little bit. Yet now he was really thirty-three years old while she was thirty-one. Their boys had yet to change form, and hopefully the never would. On that day they would stop growing and stay that age until knows when.

Jordan pulled her closer and wrapped his arms around the small in her back. She laughed and gently rested her had against his chest. He kissed to top of her hair as she sighed happily. "I really should be more scared of you shouldnt I?" he chuckled, "I am really still in awe of you Destiny," He sighed a bit. She pulled away from his chest and looked up at him. She lifted a brow and a smirk spread across her face.

Jordan smiled back and leaned down to gently brush he lips against hers. He heard in the direction of the kitchen table, "Eeeeewwww," He smiled as he still kissed his beautiful wife. When he finally pulled his lips away from hers, he saw a sort of lightheaded look in her eyes. One that let him know she was completely happy. He laughed a bit and pulled away from her yet kept her hand in his. He pulled her along to sit at the table and eat.

He heard a knock on the door about half way through the meal and the two boys laughed as they stood from the table and rocketed to the door. Jordan rolled his eyes as he stood and followed. "Aden," he called and the boys with the darker eyes turned to him, "Noah," he called and the boy with the lighter eyes turned to him. "Move back from the door so I can open it." The boys bounced up and down with excitement as they backed away.

Jordan pulled the door open to see the face of his former pack mate and her husband. Jordan stepped out of the way, "Welcome Misha. Glad to see you could make it," The girl gave him a bit of a smile. She now had the body of about an eighteen year old though she was older. Standing beside her was Kane, a boy that had saved her heart from the black abyss it was headed for. In Mishas arms was a small girl of about six. She had dark brown hair and shining silver eyes.

Noah and Aden bounced over and smiled at the girl. She shyly grabbed her mothers neck and turned her face half away. They boys looked at each other and then back to her. Each of them had Jordans angelic smile plastered on their faces. We wont hurt you, honest! Noah piped up, Would you like to play with us? Aden glanced at his brother then back to Mishas little girl.

"I am Aden!" he said a little shyly, "This is my brother, Noah." Noah nodded at his brothers comment and wrapped his arm around his brothers shoulder.

"Thats right! We are twins," he smiled widely at the shy girl. The little silver-eyed girl looked at her mother then back down to the twins.

"I am Terra," She said. Her voice was small and shy but her mouth had a hint of a smile. The boys smiles grew wider and they looked at each other then back to her.

"Would you like to play with us Terra?" Noah asked. The little girl smiled and Jordan saw the boys eyes open wide. The little girls smile brightened her face. No doubt this girl was going to be beautiful when she grew up. Misha placed the little girl down while Noah grabbed one of the girls hands and Aden grabbed the other. They pulled her along in to the living room to play.

Jordan stepped out of the way and let his friends enter. Misha and Kane stepped in and turned to him, We brought someone along with us. They pointed to the door and Jordan looked outside. Standing on the front porch was a girl of about fifteen with her brown hair pulled in to a ponytail. Jordan would have recognized that face anywhere.

"Jess!" he practically shouted. The girls face lit up with a smile as she raced forward and wrapped her arms around him giving him a hug. Jordan wrapped his arms around her as well and squeezed tightly. This young girl had been like a little sister to him. Jordan glanced up from his hug to see a boy looking rather embarrassed to be here. His light brown hair hung down in his face and his dark brown eyes glanced away.

Jess released Jordan from the hug and paced out on to the porch. She grabbed the boys hand and practically dragged him inside. "Come on Eric, its no good to stand out on the front porch." The boy was about seventeen. Jordan vaguely remembered him being the boy that gave Jess a job in the ice cream shop.

He had walked Jess home on the night of the attack. Jess knew there was something up and tried to ditch Eric but it didnt work. He had followed her to the battle area. The poor boy was then dragged in to their world. He had been bitten twice and there for changed forever. His body had only aged about a year in the past ten years. Jess had felt responsible for this and took him in. She taught him like Jordan had taught her.

The Miya Tribe pack had disbanded not long after that. Now they had formed a new pack in the city taking care of all the newborn werewolves. Jess was the alpha while Eric was her beta. For some odd reason this reminded him of his relationship with Destiny. As they entered they all sat in the living room watching the children play and talking about current events.

Jordans pale eyes watched every one of them like he had in the old days. A hollow void rung in his heart as two pack members had not joined them here. "Has anyone heard word of Kyoko or Brook?" he asked. All of their eyes turned to him with sympathy. They all knew had much Jordan cared for the girl, yet she and Brook had disappeared after the war. Kyoko had joined her father Hiethcliff and Brook had gone with her.

No one in the whole pack had seen them since. Jordan sighed and looked away, Well it doesnt matter I guess. She told us she was leaving and she is a girl of her words. Jordan crossed his arms over his chest as Destiny wrapped her arm lovingly around his shoulders. No matter how much he missed Kyoko, life had to still go on. He looked up at Jess and Eric, "Have you gotten any new members yet?" Eric looked at Jess and then back to Jordan.

"Well," He started, "There has been an outbreak of wolves lately. We have three new members this year. So we can finally call ourselves a tribe. At the moment there are six of us. Jess, me, Nathan, Trisha, Norman and Olivia," The boys eyes were a little concerned but nothing else, "We are now calling ourselves, Raikou Tribe."
