Aw! Poor dusky! Thats exactly what happened with me and domino, My dad got him as a present for my mom a year before I was born and then we had to put him to sleep when I was 11, because he had arthritus and couldn't walk, and he had licked a golfball sized hole on his side. It's really hard to get through at first, but eventually it won't be so hard, I never forgot my dog, but I learned to live happily while remembering him!

Thanks...it's nice to know that someone has gone through what I have. Although I wish no one had to. It's a horrible feeling.

I know it is. I miss my doggie so much! but I can still remember him. I remember I was crying when it happened, because we all sat at home waiting for our parents to have the vet put him down and waiting for them to bring home the ashes :(

I think I'm happier that they didn't put him down. I know I wouldn't have let them even if they tried. He had the prettiest eyes. I don't think there was a dog like him in the world.

When we had to put down our dog, my younger brother and I had to sit in a seperate room with a dog with three legs and a dog with messed up eyes. We cried as my father, who almost NEVER cries cried over the dying body of his best friend since three years or four before I was born. We sat in the corner and just kinda fell silent, though my brother didn't really understand why. I was young, but I loved this dog because I told him everything.

I totally know how you feel, Duskers. It hurts a lot to loose a dog tht is close to you. I feel your pain and wish you the best.

When our dog died, we put the collar on our wall with a nail. And then we made a little collage of little things about hima nd put it in a frame. It's in my parent's room.

Aww. Yeah, the people who are going to cremate him are going to get an imprint of his paws, and put his ashes in a wooden box with his name on it. I got dibs on the box.
