The final bell rang for class to begin. Buddie remembered the rule, 2 lates, you go to the pricipal's office. Great, she thought. Just great. Helping Grant get up, she hugged him, the went to her class, Journalism, Mrs. Nussbaum's class.
She entered the room, and 23 beady eyes stared at her. Mrs. Nussbaum smiled. "You must be Buddie. You look a lot like Lesly." Mrs. Nussbaum had short blonde hair with pretty blue eyes. She was pretty tall, and average weight. Thank GOD! Buddie thought when Mrs. Nussbaum informed her that she won't get a late, she didn't believe in those things.
Grant smiled at Buddie as she left. He made his way to his next class & avoided any potential bullies. His stomach was still slightly hurting him but he ignored it. Other kids rushed around him as he was thinking about Buddie being a wolf. Grant stopped infront of a door with MATH written on it. He went inside & took a seat as the teacher started writing on the blackboard.
Grant barely paided attention in his math class. He was constantly trying to figure out why Buddie had turned into a wolf. But his mind would always wonder back to when she had kissed him. Grant tried to hide the fact that he was blushing every time he thought about her. He couldn't stop smiling though, she saved him from Gordon & she'd kissed him.
Mrs. Nussbaum came walking by. She paused at Buddie's desk. "You kissed a boy?" she asked. Buddie blushed. She nodded slowly. Mrs. Nussbaum laughed. "I remember my first kiss. It was for a school play." The both laughed some while, then she walked away. "Wow," Buddie mummured gladly, glad she has a great teacher.
She panted- jokingly- like a dog. "Fetch sounds like fun!" Obviously she was just kidding, but she couldn't help but thinking if that had just happned to her. Right now she wouldn't think about it, right now it didnt matter. It was really easy to get out of the school building. They pretty much waited for the secretary to go get coffee, then they slipped out the front door. "Where to now Chase?" Lily asked politely.
Chase walked slowly, a smile on his face, he looked over at Lily, he gave her a warm smile and said "Where ever your heart wants." He laughed "Little pup." Chase rubbed Lily's head in a joking way, he said "You know, you were kinda cute as a pup. Makes me wanna be one now." Chase laughed, he looked away and started to think, he did'nt say anything for a moment, the silence was long, then he finally said "Well I guess it's nothing." He knew Lily had to idea what he was talking about, but that was a good thing.
Grant wrote down the math problems in his notebook as the teacher spoke. He thought about Buddie every time the teacher paused. His heart would beat faster when he did. Grant absently sketched the wolf he was working on, an odd feeling developed in the pit of his stomach. He tried to ignore it but it refused to be ignored. He raised his hand, "Yes Grant?" the teacher asked him looking slightly angered by Grant interrupting him. "Can I be excused for a minute?" Grant asked with his hand on his stomach. The teacher sighed & nodded, Grant quickly got up & went to the boys' bathroom.
" Today, as for the first day of school, we'll have a welcome back party, Mrs. Nussbaum announced to the class. She smiled as all of them cheered. Then, she continued, " We'll also have no homework today." Again the class cheered. Buddie noticed the boys whooped the loudest. The kids in the Journalism class covered their desks with red paper, and went to get in a line for food. Chips, carrots, and cheese were on the menu. Capri Sun and juice boxes were drinks. "I don't want you guys to be full before lunch," Mrs. Nussbaum smiled that rosy smile. When most of the people ate, Buddie went up to the teacher's desk. "Thanks," she said shyly. "You're awesome." Mrs. Nussbaum smiled again, and the class partied until the bell rang.
As Buddie walked out of the classroom, she saw Grant, but 'accidently' overheard the snobbiest, most annoying, not to mention, popular girl in the school's conversation with her friends. "Kara, what did you do today?" a brown-headed girl asked. Kara stuch her nose up, and answerd promply, "We had a party." Buddie shook her head in disgust, and went to join Grant.
Lily tried to forget about what Chase had said... yet it echoed in her mind. Well I guess it's nothing.... well I guess what's nothing? She asked her self many questions then eventually shook it off. It was silent for only a couple moments. "Would you like to go to the park, my house, or do you have something else in mind." There wouldn't be anyone at Lily's house anyway, and at this time of day the park would be empty. This could be a lot of fun. But they would have to be very careful.
