Bandaged Golden Breed: Golden Retriever Age: 4 months Gender: Male History: This loving puppy was discovered behind the tangled roots of a tree, whimpering for help. It was starved and had gotten trapped in the roots in the forest. We brought him back to the WTK for treatment, and we mended his broken leg with a cast. He'll get it off in a few months. Temperment: This puppy is very cautious after his leg incident, but he is the most lovable ball of fur you'll ever meet and never bites.
A cute golden retriever bounces up to you holding his leash. He barks playfully to tell you, "I wanna go on a walk!" So his owner pick up theleash and clips it onto his collar and goes out the front door, the dog leading the way. Here I'll post the walks and where we went with Sugar =)
Sugar's Walks:
1-4-09 Sugar drags me around the park. We swing together, play fetch, then leave. Then, we go straight and turn left. That leads us to an empty grass field. I let Sugar's leash go so he can play fetch. I through sticks and he retrieves them. After 30 minutes, we go back home.
1-6-09 I clip Sugar's leach on and we go left, then left again. We walk straight until there is a dead end and we turn left again, going on the sidewalk. We turn right then cross the bridge they have, and there is a dog playground. I unclip Sugar's leash and he runs through the tunnels and goes through the dog places. After 15 minutes, Sugar gets tired so I clip his leash back on and we go home.
1-10-09 Sugar now brings me his leash because he enjoys his walks so much. I give in with his complaing (scratches, whines, growls, etc) and clip on his leash. The day was cold so I put on a jacket. We went outside and Sugar instantly led me to the dog playground. I unclip his leash and he plays in it. Sugar walks to me after 30 minutes and I clip his leash and we go home. Sugar's paw is healing! =) Soon he won't need the bandage! =)
1-11-09 Sugar drags me by the pants to where I keep his leash and I sigh. I clip on the leash and Sugar races outside, instantly. I didn't even have time to put on my jacket! I pick him up and set him inside, put on my jacket, his jacket, and we go out. He makes beeline to the doggy playground and I unclip his leash. He plays and after a few minutes, he comes to me. I clip his leash back on and we go home. Sugar's paw is healing! =) He's lightly walking on it now! =) Soon, he won't need the bandage! =)
1-12-09 Sugar gets the leash now and I'm absolutely sure he'll go straight to the doggy playground. I decided we could both use some excersise by finding a new walk route so I clip the leash on his collar. He drags me out the door and he turns to the doggy playground. I drag him the other direction and we find a walk. We walk straight until the end of the sidewalk, turn left, left again, then right. We go over a straight bridge over a swampy water and then fing a way home. He had some fun and he is very tired when we go home. Paw healing more! Stepping on it a bit harder! =)
1-26-09 I didn't even need the dog to tell me it was time for a walk. That poor thing's been cooped in the house for DAYS! After he came back from the vets, ate some food, and walked around the house stepping on his paw, I clipped the leash on and we went out. I turned left and walked straight, until a swamp bridge. We crossed it, the went to a grassy field. I threw a stick at Sugar and he kept on fetching it. Then we went home. He sure had some fun!! =)
1-30-09 Right when I clipped on the leash, Sugar led me to the doggy playground. I didn't have a chance to pull him away. I let him go and he raced around, sure glad to be back. I smiled as I watched him run, and he came back to me soon. I played fetch with him and then we walked back. =)
2-4-09 Sugar pads to me, holding his leash. He looked so cute I couldn't resist. I clipped the leash on his collar and we go outside. He turned the way to go to the doggy playground, and I sigh, letting him go. He's leads me, knowing where to turn and when to stop. When we get there, I unclip his leash letting him run free and he goes through the tunnels, around the obsicles, everything. He gets tired after 25 minutes so we go back home.
2-11-09
I walk up to Sugar and clip his leash on. He runs out the door, me following, and I wasn't supprised to see him going towards the doggy playground. I let him go, and he leads the way. When we get there, I let him free and he runs around wild. This time, he stays out 30 minutes before he gets tired. I walk back home and we play fetch with a doggy rope outside in my backyard =)

Today, I decided to take Sugar out on a long walk, but me on my bike. Since it was cold, I wore my butterfly jacket and I put his little brown jacket on Sugar. I clipped his leash on and we left. I rode my bike and he pretty much led the way. We walked in a big huge circle. It was fun. When we got back, he was EXHAUSTED!
