Breezepaw's heart thumped quickly as the cats seperated. He shook himself watched Fireleaf leave to the camp entrance. He looked just like how Breezepaw felt. Looking up at his mentor he stood up. "Hazelwing? Since we didnt do anything today and the clan is going to need all the fresh food it can get. Can we go hunt for alittle bit?" Hazelwing looked up at starclan than back at Breezepaw. "Sure we can. We just have to make sure that we check the prey before we take it back to the camp." With a nod Breezepaw and his mentor left the camp. Walking into the grassy moore he smelled the air and wondered where Fireleaf had gone to. Shaking his head he started walking around the moore while Hazelwing went the other direction.

Fireleaf padded through the forest slowly with his head down low. He shook his head. "we can all make it through this..." he murmured. He walked to his special river but strangly didn't feel like swimming. His ears perked up when he hear the bushes around him make shuffling noises. "I geuss I'll hunt..." he meowed. He crouched Down and jumped into one of the bushes. He sank his teeth Into a rabbits neck, killing it. He dragged it's body out and put it by the river. He jumped into anouther bush and saw a bird. He moved forward by saw it was already dead. 'what killed it?' he thought. He moved forward and sniffed it. It smelled okay. He opened his mouth and took a small bite. It tasted weird. It seemed to have been dead for awhile. Suddenly, fireleaf began to cough. He moved away from the bird. His vision began to blur and he looked at the rabbit. 'the bird died from poison...' he thought. He gently grabbed the rabbit I'm his jaws and began to take it back to camp. He carefully walked back but it became to see. He began to close his eyes. He dropped the rabbit and fell to the floor.

Breezepaw walked though bushes and tall grass, not finding any kind of prey. He was about to give up and go back to the camp, but he heard a thump and smelled Fireleafs scent. Fireleaf must have gone out to hunt! he thought but then when he strained his ears toward where he heard the thump everything was quite. "Fireleaf?" Breezepaw walked toward the bushes and smelled fresh prey. Looking through the bushes he sould see a firey colored pelt on the ground. Running up to the fur he reliezed it was Fireleaf. "Fireleaf! Fireleaf! What happened?" He looked around wondering if there was any cat in sight. If Fireleaf couldnt get up he couldnt pick him up by himself.

Fireleafs breath was fast and heavy. He heard the young apprentices voice but it sounded far away from where he was. He had his mouth opened a little so he could still keep breathing. 'mouse dung!' he thought. 'stupid twolegs....poising our....prey.....' fireleafs body became numb and his breathing slowed a bit more. His ears pressed back against his skull.

Breezepaw started panicing he didnt know what to do. He just concentrated on what Fireleaf was saying and looked around foor help. "Two-legs! What till I get my paws on one. They'll be sorry." Looking back at Fireleaf he saw the cat was having a hard time breathing. "Please dont die on me. Can you get up?'" He looked over the cat and back at the moore. A shadowy figure appeared on the grass. He looked closer but couldnt identify the cat. Not knowing what to do he yowled. "Hey! Come here! Please! We need help!"

Fireleaf panted heavily as he laid on his side on the damp ground. He opened his eyes a little to see breezepaws blurry figure. He was next to him but he still sounded far away. He closed his eyes again and tried to move his numb body. Than he thought, who was breezepaw yelling at? If he didn't know who it was he could get hurt or worse.

Breezepaw stared at the figure wondering who it was. He felt Fireleaf move alittle and he turned to see him at the same spot. His paws itched to run and get help, what if what ever was up ahead didnt hear him? Or worse what if it did and it was'nt windclan cat? Breezepaw shrunk as he turned around and saw the dark shape running towards him. He closed his eyes then opened them to see his mentors pelt. "Hazelwing! It's you!" Hazelwing's eyes widened as she saw Fireleaf onn the ground hardly breathing."What happened?" Breezepaw did'nt feel like explaining he was just glad that she was there."Ill tell you at the camp. Now help me bring him to the camp." Breezepaw looked at Fireleaf and began to pick him up inbetween them both. "Hang in there Fireleaf. We're bringing you to the camp."

Fireleaf opened his eyes a little. Who was there now? He had heard breezepaw yell a cats name but he couldn't tell what he said. He couldn't tell what hazelwing had said. He closed his eyes again and still kept his breath going but it was very slow now. What will happen to the other cats if all the prey is like this? What if all of windclan dies?

Breezepaw looked at Fireleaf as he walked with Hazelwing to the camp. "He looks unconscience. Lets hurry." Hazelwing nodded with uncertainty"Ok." Reliezing that he was the apprentice and not Hazelwings Mentor. Breezepaw shrunk alittle, but then standing up strait he looked back at Fireleaf. "Dont worry. Me and Hazelwing will get you back to camp. Dont worry. You'll make it." Looking back up he could see the camp in site.
