Echo sighed. She heard about the fight between Oki and Thatched, on who would be a better alpha. Her eyes began to water. "I love Dolpha though.." she whimpered. "I don't want Oki.." She sighed and layed down, her head in her paws. She had to think of something... something so that she could mate Dolpha. "Alpha and Alphaeass are supposed to be mates, along with the Beta and the Betaeass.." she said, remembering the code. "But I can't abondon the clan for my love.." she sighed and padded up to Oki. Suddenly blurting out, she asked, "Do you even love me??"

Dolpha jumped up from the water. He looked at his paw. "it's not that hard to swim." he smiled. He shook the water off his brown pelt. He let out a small yawn. "I should go say hi to echo. I haven't seen her today." a smile spread across his face. He put his wounded paw up and began to run back to the pack on three paws.

"W-what?" Oki was startled by Echo's presence. He almost lowered his head respectfully and then remembered that he was Alpha of the pack now. He took a deep breath. "Not as a mate, no. And I know that you have feelings for another wolf." He let the breath whistle out through his teeth. "And I understand that you don't love me, and that's okay. The only reason I'm Alpha is because I couldn't let Thatcher boss us around, when he doesn't know that the pack really, truly needs. Can't you tell that Thatcher doesn't even really love his own mate? Who cares about tradition?" He looked up to the sky. "I've certainly broken the tradition just now." He sighed. "Do you hate me, Echo?"

Echo sighed. "No... I love you as a packmate, but.." her voice trailed off. "I'm really proud of you for taking the sopt of alpha. I've been... really out of date since my first mate, Lepoard, died. I met Dolpha.. and he really brightened up my life. I always wanted Dolpha to become alpha, one, since he was my love and two, because I thought that he had the since of becoming an alpha.. not that you don't." She looked at her feet, embarressed. "But I can't love you Oki. You're my packmate, my alpha, but I don't have the feeling for you like I had for Dolpha and Lepoard." Her eyes couldn't meet Oki's. "I wondered day and night if I should quit my job when you became alpha.." she whispered. "I really wanted Dolpha." She shrugged, and then looked at Oki in the eye. "I don't want to hurt your feelings, but you're a great wolf, a great alpha, but I love Dolpha. What should I do??" she whimpered.

Dolpha slowly stopped running. He sat down and licked his wounded paw. His ears suddenly perked upas he heard alot of chirping. He turned to the direction he heard it and saw alot of birds. He hasn't gottan prey for the fresh kill pile today yet. He slowly crouched down, being careful with his paw. He wagged his tail back and forth. He moved foreward and jumped up. The birds began to fly up. He managed to knock down a few and kill them. Three. He smiled. He grabbed them in his mouth, which was hard to do with three. He began to head back to camp.

Oki sighed. "I know you don't love me, as a mate. We've established that. What you do next is your choice. Whether you retire from the Alphaess position, or you continue to love Dolpha, either is fine. And it is your decision. The only reason I was almost forced into being an Alpha was because this pack needed one NOW, and I couldn't just sit by and let Thatcher boss us around." He took a deep breath, looking to the sky. Why didn't the stars always shine? The stars were pure beauty, and yet in the day, the sun hid them from any eyes.

 Same! Well, since our characters are the only characters we rly need to worry mainly about, wanna just pretend ur in the cave?
IC: Nolan felt a pang of guilt and went looking for Iradisa. He picked up her scent trail and began to follow it. He didn't want to make Iradisa sad, but he was only thinking of her and the pups.  He sighed. Love was tougher than he thought.  He soon reached the cave and padded in.
"Iradisa?" he called. "I-i'm sorry."
