Kayden finished straightening the display and stood up, admiring his work with his arms crossed. "Ta daaa," he sang, turning back toward Lucia. He grinned as he looked at the clock - 5:30. At that moment, the manager called from the counter, "We are closing in a moment, thank you for shopping," shooting a dazzling smile at the small store in general. Kayden pumped the air. "Be right back," he said again, and dashed up to the counter. He handed in his name tag and went back to Lucia. "Ready," he said. His phone vibrated; he pulled it out and answered it. After a few moments and several grins from Kayden, he hung up with an enthusiastic "thank you." "My skateboard's done!" he exclaimed happily to Lucia.
Lucia laughed, "Seriously? At least that's one good piece of news today. C'mon, let's get your board, then our haircuts." She grinned, picking up her board again. "You coming Shy?" That was her nickname for him, although he wasn't very shy at all, it was just a shortened version of Shia. She walked outside, looking up at the graying sky. Clouds began to obscure the sun, but she liked it like that. A little rain never hurt anyone.

"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
Shia sighed. He sipped the last of his frap and threw it into the trash can. "Shy.. nice nickname." he said with an evil grin, tagging along. "I like it Lucy." He smiled and watched the two friends get onto their skateboards and he tied his converses up. Laced them real tight; he was going to run along.
Lucia shook her head. She was sure he knew that she hated that nickname, but he did it anyway. She put the skateboard down and stepped on, waiting for Kayden to come out. As she waited, she put her silver hair into a bun, more comfortably for a skateboard ride, the wind wouldn't whip it around. Until he broke his skateboard again, she wouldn't be giving him rides. The thought sent a strange pang through her, but she ignored it.

"The shop is across the street, I'll be back in a flash." Kayden dashed out the door and went to pick up his skateboard, after jaywalking across the street. He rode back across to meet up with Lucia and Shia again; he was back where his real talent lay, on his beloved skateboard. He kickflipped up onto the curb where they were waiting and grinned. "Oh, yeah, Kayden is BACK!"
Lucia laughed, grinning. She knew he loved his skateboard, like it was his baby, just how she loved hers. "Alright, now, to mess up our hair! ONWARD!" She pushed off, not waiting for Shia, or Kayden. But Kayden would easily catch up, she just wasn't so sure about Shia.

Kayden grinned and took off after Lucia. As he got closer to her, he yanked lightly on her ponytail. "Last time I can do that for awhile, huh?" he chuckled. He pushed off the ground again and again, eventually passing Lucia. "Haha, take that, Miss Latte!" he sang, pulling a few feet ahead of her. He jumped high in the air and flipped the board underneath his feet, landing perfectly on it again. He grinned with a sense of accomplishment, the same that he always got when doing tricks.
Shia laughed and jogged alongside Lucia, keeping pace. He huffed every step, his feet pushing down hard on the ground every tine it touched it. He wished he never wore jeans today; it was hot and he had been running around since morning. Shia was already sweating, but was still evenly along with the skateborders. "Jogging.. ever... day keeps .. you... fit." he said, laughing.
"Hey!" She called when he pulled on her bun, turning it into a ponytail. "Ah, but you forget, Mr. Hallmark, I control the winds!" She called on the gusts of air passing by her to push on her board, speeding her up as she jumped up onto a curb, flipped the board past her, and landed on it again, still keeping her speed. She zoomed past Kayden, her laugh drifting behind her as they headed toward the hair salon.
