Kayden laughed out loud. "I only read minds, not control them," he corrected playfully, actually speaking for the first time in ten minutes. But I don't think I need to control yours to get you to do what I want, he thought to her wistfully, then actually became awkward again and turned redder, looking down quickly, but a small smile lingered on his face.
Lucia laughed, out loud instead of laughing inside. "You know you don't need to worry about embarrassing yourself, right? I'll still like you." She winked at him, watching the pouring rain outside. It was cold, cooler than it had been that whole August, but it wasn't that horrible. Rain was her favorite weather, but that was probably because if she didn't feel like getting wet she didn't have to.

"If that was meant to be comforting, it was not."
"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
Kayden grinned as he looked back up at her. She totally understands me, he thought (to himself), almost in disbelief. It was sort of too good to be true. Not being able to resist, he put his other arm around her waist and pulled her towards him, into a close hug, right there on the sofa.
Shia looked at Ash. "If you don't mind, I want to stay here. I'm a bit tired." He winked at her, then went to the fridge and opened up a soda can. Mountain Dew. His favorite. He sat down next to Lucia and Kayden and laughed. Having a mind conversation? he thought. Cause it sure seems like it!
Lucia didn't mind Kayden's embraced, but she blushed furiously when she saw Shia sit down next to her. He just had to come and make it akward eh? Of course, she didn't mean the embrace, just..that Shia was there. It was kind of funny at the same time too.

Shia looked over at Lucia and Kayden. "HAHA, I see a couple forming!" he said with a sly smile on his face. He took a little sip and gave a loud burp. He smiled. "So when's the wedding?" he asked, seriously. "There's no need to be shy. I think it's pretty cool."
"Shut up Shy," Lucia laughed, elbowing Shia behind her. She picked up her leftover root beer and finished it in a few gulps, looking at the two of her friends sitting beside her.

Ash sighed and pulled soda out of the fridge and sat walked into her room she thought to Kayden, " I'll take him away. " She grabbed Shia's arm and said, " Leave those two alone. The'll get married soon and we'll be able to go to the wedding. " She pulled Shia into her room.

Kayden rolled his eyes, but he had to smile a bit as he reluctantly pulled away from Lucia, twirling his finger in her hair one more time before letting go. "C'mon, Shia," he said, laughing, lightly punching his friend in the shoulder. I haven't even kissed her yet, man! he thought to Shia only. As Ash dragged him away, he thought a quick Thank you to her.

Shia laughed at Lucia, then clapped her on the back. Well, as close as the back as he could get. He looked up at Ashley. "Fine, okay, I'll go with you." he said. He ran to his little room sharing with the boys and grabbed a sports pants out of the closet and put it on, subsituting for the big, thick, baggy jeans he wore. He ran towards Ash and took another drink out of his soda. "Okay. Let's go." he said, smiling. "Where to? The adoption center?"
