Luca giggled, giddy, slipping her arm under his, as if she was in a fancy ball gown, and he in a nice suit, and they were going off to a dance. That was far from the truth - they were in a drab parking lot, on skateboards, and never knowing when the next fight would be. But hey, dreams were nice, weren't they? "Feeling better?" she asked, as they coasted off, heading to no destination in particular.
Ooc: got a compy 8D

"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
"Definitely," Kayden assured her. He laughed at her image of them in her mind. "Yeah, and here I am in a Hallmark uniform," he chuckled, "and you in your Starbucks clothes..." He sighed. "I already don't want to go back to work in 3 and a half hours." They took a turn on their boards at ease, even though their arms were linked.
"Hah, are you sure you can't get it off? Any days off coming up soon? I have a bunch reserved, for special occasions. Boss wouldn't mind if I took some days off." She grinned as they took yet another turn, imagining them to truly be in the outfits she had envisioned earlier. People stared, but she could care less. "Maybe your boss would like to be nice and give you a day off."

"Yeah, I guess I could probably get today off," he agreed. "I think I have like, five days that can be freely taken off." Suddenly, his vision went black. "Aah!" Kayden cried, shutting his eyes tight and stopping his skateboard, jerking Lucia to a stop as well. "Oh no...no...not-" We will attack within a week, a cold voice said. Excellent, this will go perfectly, an even colder - but more sinister - voice replied. An attack by my entire first-rank army...They will never win. Kayden was barely aware of screaming out loud as a creepy, chilling laugh rang through his mind. Yes, my Lord. They have been training nonstop, my Lord... Yes, yes, spectacular. And all of them know perfectly well how to Shadow, I presume? Why of course, my Lord! The Lieutenant was surprised. All are highly skilled, some nearly as good as I! A dry chuckle...Of course. I should never have doubted you. Yes...once we get rid of the Praesentia, we will get rid of the rest of those imbecile mortals... Kayden's vision returned; he was breathing harder than ever and his heart threatened to leap out of his chest. "Lucia..." was the last word he breathed before he blacked out, right there and then on the sidewalk.
"Kayden!" Lucia didn't care that she was in the middle of a sidewalk. "Kayden, wake up!" Had he had another vision? Of the Darkness? She was shaking his shoulders, but to no avail. A tear glistened on the edge of her eye, what if he was gone for good? "Kayden...Kayden!" She was too far to go to the Hallmark store, Kayden wouldn't be welcome at Starbucks because of Ryan, and Lucia couldn't mind-call anyone. "Kayden, please, please wake up!" She looked into his face, still shaking him, after having him turned on his back. He was lying on the two skateboards, silent, not moving.

After nearly two minutes, Kayden's eyes flickered open. "Oh my...Lucia, they're going to attack within seven days," he told her urgently, from right there on the ground. She had to know this. "He found a new Lieutenant and he has a first-rank army, they're going to kill us off and ...he's trained all the Shades to Shadow, oh, Lucia, he's going to kill the entire world...what will we do..." He rolled onto his side so his arm was covering his face and broke down crying, silently, his entire body shaking with fear and from trying to suppress the tears.
"Shh, Kayden, it's alright. You had this vision for a reason. We've got seven days to train ourselves, to learn how to fight the best we can, to be the best team we can. And when those seven days are over," she pulled his chin and turned him to face her. "When those seven days are over, we'll be a force to reckon with. They won't stand a chance. Not one." Her eyes stared into his, her voice did not waver.

Kayden blinked the tears from his eyes, but they didn't stop completely. He couldn't move his eyes from hers. "You're amazing," he murmured simply, and without even thinking, he put his hands around her neck and pulled her face down to his - their lips touched.
After the first wave of shock, Lucia slowly pulled her hands up and rested them on his shoulders and she leaned in for the kiss. He tasted like caramel, probably because of the frapuccino he had recently finished, but it could just be because he only drank caramel fraps anyway. Her mind was swirling, full of incoherent thoughts, the overall feeling in her brain, wonderful. This was all she had imagined and more. Who cared that they were sitting on a sidewalk, who cared that it wasn't raining, who cared that they were stuck in the city and not at some romantic ball on a ship or something (haha, you'll get this Tutey). Who even cared that they only had seven days left before the greatest battle in their lives? She was with Kayden, and that was all that mattered.

Kayden's left hand slowly slid up to rest on the back of her head. He couldn't believe his nerve - would she be angry that he had kissed her so suddenly like that? But he was being silly...he took a peek into her mind; her thoughts were swimming with excitement, nothing made sense to her right now. Kayden's own mind was in overdrive; his brain almost couldn't take this. But he didn't care - he wouldn't care if his mind exploded. He sighed softly as his right hand moved down to her back... Right now, nothing else mattered. In the very, very back of his mind, he knew that they both might die in seven days. He smiled slightly as their lips moved together - So, what better time than now? We might not have another chance...
