Ren gave the large flying creature a skeptical glance and turned back to the old so his back was facing his new bird creature. "Are they safe?" He questioned but wasnt given enough time, for his new mount was a fiesty type. It Pushed his head under ren and liftd him in to the air. Ren slid from the head to where the saddle sat between the neck and the shoulders of Fliffer. Ren landded squarly on the gold seat with an oof. Fear engulfed the boys eyes as he desperatly clung on to the saddle. The bird seemed to find this amusing and let out a few beautiful sqwaks that were undeniably laughs. Ren glared up at the beautiful creature and snarled, "Oh shut up." With that he turned to Ryuu and grunted, "Ready when you are." The kyoshi warrior took the string that the whistle hung on and placed it around his neck where he could reach it easily. "Lets get going. The avatar wont be aroudn much longer if you and i dont help him." It was odd for Ren to be working with any other partner than his old friend Miu. Still, Ryuu was a good partner for the job. Hopefully the combo could save the avatar.
Ryuu chuckled, putting his own whistle around his neck. "Thank you, sir!" He called, before lightly tapping his booted heels against Fenrir's sides. The bird squawked and ran a mere fifteen feet before leaping into the air, flapping its wings. As they rose and rose, Ryuu's eyes were as wide as a child's. "I've always wanted to fly!" Then he looked down. "Oh, crap." Ryuu focused back on Fenrir's feathers, not letting anything around him come into focus. "No wonder earth benders and air benders are so different. I like my feet on the ground." He swallowed, looked down once more, found it too much to bear, and looked back to his bird. The bird seemed to be grinning, in its eyes at least. "Oy. You aren't an earthbender. You've got nothing to complain about." He looked down again, and realized that the fear was slowly going away. Maybe he could learn to enjoy this.

"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
Fliffer watched his companion rise in to the sky and bolted after him. Ren gave out a startled yelp ad help on to the saddle. With a mighty beat of his wings, Fliffer rose in to the sky. They rose in to the sky and Ren's heart raced. He glanced below him and was met with the sight of the ground falling away. A great smile replaced the fear on his face. "This is awsome!" he bellowed and turned his excited brown eyes to the magnificent bird he straddled. "Youre awsome Fliffer!" THe bird let out a few more chuckling sqwaks. Ren let out laughs of his own and they chased after their companions. All four travelers headed south after the avatar.
Ryuu was finally able to look down without his stomach dropping away from him. A light smile adorned his features and he finally laughed. "This is pretty cool." They flew on, the birds spreading their beautiful wings wide, flying faster than they ever could have traveled before. Maybe even faster than the Sky Bison. "Hey, how come you're not scared of flying?" he shouted over the din.

Ren grinned from ear to ear but managed to reply, "Well, Im used to heights. If youve ever done what i have this is just the next step. Heck i jumped off a tower once and had to scale a palace wall. Im just lucky that im not the one having to flap my arms!" Ren's eyes were wide with excitment. Yet after a while he settled a bit and the birds came to a steady yet fast pace. They would easily catch up with the avatar, if not beat him to the southern water tribe. Soon the Earth Kingdom's land fell away from them and they were flying over the ocean. Its deep blue color somewhat seemed melancholy but beautiful just the same. "Man i wish Miu could see this. She just loves the ocean."
Ryuu smiled lightly. "I just wish I knew Mari was safe. Maybe she just ran away from the king. She knows I hate him. But...I hope nothing happened to her." He knew, from the instant he had set foot on the mission the E.B.A. had set for him, that leaving Mari was bad. But how else could he have gone? Mari couldn't have come, she might have well died.

Ren tensed a bit as Ryuu mentioned his younger sister. It really wasnt any of his buisness. He wasnt really even Ryuu's friend. Yet something inside told him he needed to trust this boy. He had to rely on him they were goign to complete this mission. And the first thing that he needed to do was let Ryuu know that he could count on Ren. With a sigh he called out, "We can keep an eye out for her. If we get to the avatar in time im sure we can then take a detour and find your sister."
Ryuu sighed with relief. "Thanks Ren." He smiled shakily at the boy on the nearby Thunderbird as they flew. The blue ocean sparkled beneath, it's own world, so different to the sky with puffy white clouds floating by.
Ooc: time skip?
