Ic: The Thunderbirds' feathers were fluffed up against the cold, and Ren was shivering too, as they landed near the Southern Water tribe. He patted Fenrir's head and the bird began hopping, as if the ice was freezing its feet. "Go on, Fenrir. I'll call you when I need ya." He turned and walked on, until a little smoke appeared in the distance. "Fires? How do they have fires?" He shrugged. There were no trees, but maybe they imported, in the time of peace. "Let's see if they know where the Avatar is~"

"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
Ren shivered in the cold. His thin light frame didnt exaclty like how cold it was. His light brown eyes turned toward Ryuu and he nodded. "Alright," he said through chattering teeth. His own Thunderbird had joined Ryuu's and would be called if needed. The two trudged through the snow until they saw the Southern Tribe. After the war had taken place, the southern tribe had grown. Instead of just having a makeshift camp they acctually had a town now. Their wall was made of ice that had been bended in to shape. The homes that had once been made of leather hides were now solid snow homes that were shaped by the new water benders that had been born or moved here. In the center of the white walled town was the city hall. It was grand, or as grand as the snow covered buildings could get. Most of the homes in this town were modest and humble looking. No intricate disigns were present but that wasnt important. The two boys headed for the Town hall, passing a few curious people on the way.
Ryuu shivered, and realized instantly that his green garb looked so strange in this sea of blue and white, as well as his bright red hair. Ah well. He opened the door of the great town hall and looked around for someone he could speak to. It was quite quickly that the two were noticed, and an attendant rushed over. "Where are you from?" was her first question. "Ba-Sing-Se. E.B.A." Ryuu replied. "U-um...may I ask who you're looking for?" "Any official. Or the Avatar if he's here. We need to speak to him."

Ren glanced sideways at Ryuu for a moment before turning back to the girl. A confused look passed over her face. "The avatar?" she questioned Ryuu's statement. "Yes the avatar," Ren interjected, "Its very urgent." The attendent was hesitant as she frowned. "The avatar is not here. Was he on his way? We have recieved no information of his arrival," The look in the girl's eyes told Ren that she was telling the truth. Everyone here in the Southern Tribe had no idea that the Avatar was coming. As it was, he handt arrived yet either. This didnt settle a good feeling in to Ren's stomach. " "Is the avatar's wife here? Perhaps she knows." The girl looked a little more confident now, "Yes, Lady Katara is at her home in the Northern part of the town." Ren was growing impatient with getting the run around from so many people. "Come on Ryuu, we have to hurry."
Ryuu almost rolled his eyes. What were they doing, chasing geese? He trotted away, to the north part of town, where a larger snow house was, not designed like the others weren't, but it just had the air of something grander. He strode swiftly to the door and knocked, then stepped back and put his hands behind his back, as was the proper gesture for an E.B.A. member to stand around officials, or important people.

Ren entered the beautiful snow home as well and glanced around. A tall slender woman with tanned skin and beautifully tanned skin entered from another room. A little boy toddler of about six rested on her hip and hugged her neck. Ren felt warmth spread through him, despite not liking most people, he adored children. Another youn child, one that looked just like her mother stepped out from the room. She looked to be about twelve years old. "Mrs. Katara?" Ren asked softly and the woman's sea blue eyes danced with laughter. "Yes that would be me," She laughed warmly at the young man. "Im Ren and this is Ryuu. We are here on E.B.A. buisness." Ren watched as a look of realization over took Katara's features. She leaned down gently and told her two children to go to their uncle's house and play with their cousins. Ren remembered reading not to long ago that the famous wife of the avatar had a brother and he was the foreign diplomat for the Southern Tribe. He had also married a Kyoshi warrior. Intrest twinged within him but he restrained himself. He still had to find the avatar. "So what is it? Is Aang alright?" Worry flooded her expression and Ren cringed inwardly. He tossed a glance at Ryuu. "We..." he started but sighed as he finished, "We dont know... We recovered intelligance that suggested that there was goign to be an attempt at assisination on Avatar Aang's life. We dont know how soon its going to happen but the Avatar is on the move. The assassins sent a letter to him to draw him out not to long ago and we have been trying to find him. The last we heard he was headed here." A mask of horror covered Katara's face. "He didnt tell me he was coming..." Ren paniced a bit, "P-perhaps he was just coming to suprise you and didnt tell anyone. We arent sure if this was a lagitamite threat."
Ryuu stepped forward. "We were told last, by the Earth King, that he had left the kingdom, heading for the Southern Water Tribes. We think that either the letter was drawing him here, saying that something had happened, or that he had come to just visit, and we need to find him. We've got the fastest birds, and we've seen no bison in the sky. Are you sure he said nothing of coming to visit?" "N-no. He never said he was coming. That he hoped to see us soon, yes, but not that he was on his way." Katara's face had quickly gotten over the horror, and in had come a mask of cool calm, and her voice held no fear. "Do you have any way of contacting him?" Ryuu asked. "I might, if he's near water. Which he should be, because I taught him to never be without it, but the water would have to be in front of him, somehow..."
