Warrior Cats: The Four Clans

"Hmph Roseleaf!" Cinderstar yowled before the previous medicine cat disappeared: his own medicine cat. "You're feeding your apprentice pure lies, only to make her follow you. I never believed you were so selfish, nor so stupid!" He huffed. "And then you leave? What kind of friend are you?" He stood his place bu Duskstar's side, giving her silent strength, comfort.

It was with this strength that Duskstar fought like all of TigerClan, and held Aurastripe pinned down beneath her. "I. Will. Not. Kill. You!" She growled at the medicine cat. "You were once my friend, but you must see sense! What is there in your argument but traditions, things only passed down by mouth, never set in stone!"

"Is that what you think?" Duskstar hissed. "Don't call me mentor unbelieving! he was one of the best leaders of ThunderClan, so don't you say anything otherwise!" The tabby snarled. "I think your mentor's departure means that she doesn't want to see you lose, she's too weak-hearted for even that! She doesn't trust you, because she herself believes that I am right! All medicine cats cross clan boundaries, so you obviously have not felt the damage we warriors have felt through every battle! You have not felt the need to be one clan, to unite against a common danger, instead of squabbling amongst ourselves! Without uniting, we cannot become stronger. We are our own inhibitor! Not anything else! Not hunger, not badgers, not Twolegs! We could fight them all if we were one Clan. We could be strong again! But you and your foolish ways, you who think that being a medicine cat is fine because you don't care about clan boundaries, you who believe the foolish lie that there must be four clans. There were once five clans on this land, but then the other four drove them out! So, why are you suddenly changing it? There must be five clans! Then we drove them out. Oh, I'm sorry, there must be four clans! What will it be later? Three? Two? Why not one then? Why can't we unite?"

Duskstar quivered with rage, and her hackles rose. "Do you dare call me another Tigerstar? I, who took you in, who raised you!" She leaped forward, and stopped Aurastripe by snagging a claw in her tail. "Since when have I gone and said that I will rule all? Do you see a pile of bones erected in my camp? Do you see me asking for help from rouges? You don't know the whole story of Tigerstar, so don't accuse me like you do!"

"Y-you dare to call me evil?" Duskstar tightened her grip on Aurastripe's tail. Then she lifted her nose and began to laugh, laughing to the skies. "Evil? Me? HA. If you want evil, you should go see some of the rouges in Twolegplace. I'm as soft as a kittypet compared to them! Do you want the four clans to be fighting and have them wander in, wanting the forest and kill everyone? They don't need a leader!" Duskstar's head bowed as she laughed, her shoulders shaking. "And I know you have no argument against my solid proof! You keep avoiding the subject of there being one clan, simply calling me evil, evil, evil. What does that say about you? I refuse to kill you, I took you in, I raised you, and you thank me how? By calling me Tigerstar! Where has your respect gone, kit?"
