Ciel was, needless to say, more than surprised when the gate appeared seemingly out of nowhere and the moaning began. Though one normally not easily intimidated, he was sure his heart would have stopped had he been a few decades older. Since he wasn't, the only concenquences of the spontaneous appearance of the gate was a sharp cry of surprise and him almost tripping over his paws in stumbling backwards.

"What is that?" he asked after he had stared at the gate for a while. It sent chills down his back, and after a few more moments of unabashed staring, moved back a few paces to take a spot a distance away, still unable to tear his gaze from the gate. He examined the stone pillars first, postponing actually looking into the gate, but after every detail of the pillars had been burned into his memory, Ciel finally dared to turn his attention to the strange light within the gate.

[ still not absolutely sure if this is the correct way to do it, so just putting it out there : D;; ]

Kate was following Ceil when she finnaly said "How did we get here in this swamp? All I know is that we have to get out." then she heard monkeys laughing and she picked up a rock and tried to throw it at the monkeys but missed. When she heard the moaning gate she said "woah what is that! Thats so cool! But what do you think it means?" Kate said. "Im also wondering why were wolfs its still kinda cool!" she started to sniff Kate smelled rabbit a snake and some other stuff that lived in the swamp.

If Ciel had lips to purse, he would have, but since he didn't, he settled for a half-shrug before nervously glancing around. The swamp itself was scary enough, but factor in the creepy gate and Ciel was very much creeped out. Eager for a way to vent his emotions, he snapped, "Isn't that obvious? That's what we're trying to do, isn't it?" There wasn't much he could say to her other blatantly obvious statement and as such stayed quiet, instead moving slowly towards the gate.

"Suppose I should go through?" he asked the air, not exactly expecting a reply. "It's creepy, though. And out of place." Even as he stared at the gate, Ciel couldn't bring himself too close to it--not without company--and instead opted for prodding the mysterious symbols with a paw, curious as to what had inscribed it into the pillars, trying to tune out the moaning which was now much too close for comfort.

OOC: Yeah, I wanted to see if you guys could solve the puzzle but so far, you haven't even started it. I'll wait a couple more days before I decide what to do. I'm probably going to end up closing it because no one else is doing anything.
