Amberwing struggled with the tom some more, knowing that she'd have to pull some move out of nowhere to chase him off soon. Her arms burned like they never had before though, and her moves wen't as fast as they had been earlyer. He had her pinned and she was clawing at his face, she pulled her legs away to kick him off of her, when a ball of fur came out of nowhere and knocked the cat off of her. Amberwing took a deep breath; her first moment of peace sense the battle had started. She looked towards her savior to see her mentor staring at her. 'Get up' his eyes seemed to yell. She obayed, scraping for strength now. "I could have finished it by myself..." Amberwing hissed, using her hind leg to kick a fierce apprentice away. He was more than surprised by the force behind the kick and ran off, retreating after what she took to be his mentor.
Amberwing glared at her own mentor, but her gaze held a bit of thanks. Now that she had stopped using them, she wanted to scream at the pain in her arms, but she didn't. She'd never go that, even if she were a leader on her last life, beign cut slowly to death by dull claws.

Ivoryclaw snorted at what she had said, "If you are dumb enough to think that you can win more than one skirmish that way then go ahead and be my guest. If you need help admit it. You'll get yourself killed like a fool. If you are going to die make sure its because of a good reason, not something foolish like your pride." With that he turned and tried to walk away but it appeared as more of a limp. Two rather ambitious looking apprentices hurtled themselves toward Ivoryclaw. One leapt through the air but Ivoryclaw had already long predicted his move. The white warrior smacked the tom across the face with deadly accuracy and sent him flying in to his comrade. They were both sent sprawled to the floor with the sense knocked out of them. No stood up and fearfully ran away. The other stood rooted in place at Ivoryclaw's amber glare. "Get away from here if you dont want to die," he snarled and the young tom raced away.
Amberwing frowned after him. 'Well I could have, she thought to herself, '... Eventually.' Just then, a large muscular cat snuck up behind Ivoryclaw with a practiced perfection. His long sharp claws gleamed in the moonligh and death was on his mind. Ivoryclaw didn't seem to notice this cat, distracted by the apprentices. "Look out!" She yowled, bounding towards the tom with more strength than she thought she had left. He recovered quickly, and Amberwing faced him, feeling new strength in her body. She found herself fighting side-by-side with Ivoryclaw against this tom. She was very aware of wherever his pelt brushed her, but she pushed that feeling to the side, focusing on the vibrations, which she knew Ivoryclaw would be doing. He was quiet on his toes, expecially for his size, and was easy to overlook, even putting all her focus into the sounds. But the two IvyClan cats' strikes were perfectly coordinated, a duo from the Dark Forest. They fought the tom's large paws away, and he was only able to land one swipe on Amberclaw's ear, tearing a piece off.

Ivoryclaw launched himself over while Amberwing ducked under the tom. All in perfect sync with eachother. It was almost like a deadly dance between them. Like two battle trained ballet dances. Each movement perfectly counterbalanced the other to the point one would think they were one in the same. Ivoryclaw spun around the large tom while Amberwing sliced for his throat. The large opponent reared back and Ivoryclaw struck the back of his neck. His long white fangs dug in to the tom and Amberwing went in to finish. She bit deeply in to his neck but not enough to kill him. She wasnt a murderer... yet. Ivoryclaw felt the tom stiffen as if he was gaining more energy. He seemed to be getting stronger and would be harder to beat. Ivoryclaw had to finish this now. Right where Amberwing had bitten him, Ivoryclaw swung his large paws around and burried his long talon like claws in to its neck. He pulled back like lightning and the tom collapsed to the floor with blood soaking around him in a puddle. Ivoryclaw had fallen with him, running out of energy. He let go of the tom's neck and rose on slightly shaking legs. Blood drenched his bone white fur, turning him crimson red. He turned his amber eyes toward Amberwing, once again looking like the devil himself.
Amberwing stood frozen to the spot, staring down at the cat. The cat they'd just killed. His blood pooled around him, and in it, just for that second, she saw her own death. Fighting to the end, her future coated in blood. This would be the first of many deaths.
So in that terrifying moment, she vowed to herself to never kill any cat unless it meant her own life was on the line. Death was beyond the last resort, everything else must be done first. Amberwing raised her head, staring into Ivoryclaw's amber eyes. He was coated in blood. Amberwing took a shaky step back. Obviously not his own, but the cat they'd just killed. The life they just ended. In Ivoryclaw's devil stance, she too saw herself, battle-crazed and coated in blood. No, she'd never let that happen. She would continue to learn and fight, but never at that level. She'd spill little blood, and end no lives, that was what she vowed to herself.
Amberwing took another step back, keeping her eyes locked fearfully on his. She was scared, not of his deathblows or that he was covered in blood. She was scared of how much she could care for this cat who took lives without a second glance. She couldn't imagine liking a cat like him, but she did.

Ivoryclaw stared at Amberwing, his gaze never wavering from her frightened eyes. She as scared of him, he could tell. He was a wretched creature, killing without any remorse. He did not feel sorry for the dead tom. Ivoryclaw would sleep peacefully tonight. He had defended his clan against a very dangerous enemy. This tom, if he had not met with Ivoryclaw in battle, would have caused more damage to Ivyclan than most normal warriors. In Ivoryclaw's mind he was justified. He could see that Amberwing didnt want this, she never wanted to take a life. "He was my kill Amberwing. Im the one that sliced his throat. If i hadnt he would still be alive. This is my kill, not yours." With that he stumbled off the tom's body, his sides beginning to heave. The blood that left his leg could no longer be distinguished between his and the tom's he had just killed. Ivoryclaw had already fended off at least eight cats and had gotten his share of scars. He was reaching his limit. His paws were heavy against the ground and his vision became hazy with blood loss. He staggered for a moment before he stopped and tried to steady himself. He didnt move, trying to stop the nausea that had taken over his stomach from over exertion.
Amberwing stared after Ivoryclaw while he walked away, and she was glad to see the cats were retreating. Things were settling down. Amberwing felt the vibrations again, shuddering at how the only thing she felt from the corpse was his blood still pouring out. Then she caught Ivoryclaw falter. She looked up, her eyes her own now, and watched as he struggled to stand. Her arms might have been bleeding freely, but the adrenaline and glee of fighting with her mentor hadn't yet worn off. Amberwing was at his side in an instant, pressing her pelt up to his blood-stained one. There was an awkward moment, where Amberwing was sure Ivoryclaw was very uncomfortable. She didn't care though. "I've got your back now." She whispered, not looking at him. She had needed help before, and now he needed help, though Amberwing had been too stuborn to admit it out loud.

Ivoryclaw said nothing and tried not to lean on her anymore than he needed. He stepped forward and faltered again, this time he knew he needed more help and as he told her before he needed to swallow his pride. Without a word he leaned against her greatly hoping it wasnt awkward that he needed help. He stared straight ahead and wakled forward with Amberwing helping him keep from collapsing. The battered warriors of Ivyclan were gathering in a group not to far away. They had fended off Nightclan as bravely as anyone could have wanted. Ivoryclaw was proud of them. Standing in the middle of the group was Florestadream who was cut up too but not to bad. She was inspecting all of her warriors. Ivoryclaw and Amberwing slipped in amongst them until it was time to head back to camp. Ivoryclaw followed behind as fast as he could but found himself wanting to wretch with every step. "Amberwing," he said lowly, "Go on ahead with the rest of the group, i just need a little rest here." With that he stopped and practically collapsed to the ground. He red stained chin rested on the ground after a loud thump sound. He breathed as quietly as he could but found that he still sounded like he was weezing. He cursed his inability to hide this problem. He was supposed to be the best fighter in the clan. Sure he had taken on eight cats but this was pathetic in his books.
Amberwing stared at her mentor as he collapsed. So this was what a battle was like. It was really hitting her just then. Almost killing strangers, risking your life for a small bit of land, shedding this much blood over clan pride. This was what she had trained for. This was what they basiclly lived for. She shook the thoughts away. If she thought like that, she'd end up leading a rebellion, and that was the last thing she wanted to do.
She didn't know how long she stood there as her mentor relaxed, but at some point she settled down as well and rested her dieing legs. She stared past her mentor at the bloody trail some cats had left. It would be washed of by next rain, but the taste of battle it seemed would never leave her mouth. "Tell me when you're ready." Ambewing rested her chin on her paws, staring at a little red bug crawling on a blade of grass and thinking about how much blood had been spilled.

Ivoryclaw tentively opened an eye, "I said you can go on ahead. You are prabably more tired than i am since that was your first battle using this style. Go on... I'll be okay." With that he closed his eyes again. He thought for a moment. Who would truly miss him if he had been that tom? If he had been the one that was killed? Sure they would all miss the fact that he was a war machine bent on killing if it came to it. He wasnt truely a blood thirsty cat. If he was he would have tried to kill every cat that he had fought that day. No... killing his opponent was the only way to ensure that his clan was safe. Perhaps it would have been best if he had died. Ivoryclaw opened his eyes again, "Amberwing," he said shortly, "Would it have been better if i had died back there? Would you have rather seen me dead then kill another cat? I cant change from this you know... But would it be better if i just... left... whether or not im killed. If i just left."
