Suddenly she saw Badgerheart's body laying on the ground. "Badgerheart!" She cried. Tears filled her eyes. She had always respected the warrior and had fun playing catch the mouse with him. "Badgerheart? Wake up, please! Dont take him Starclan.." She whispered the last part now fully in tears. Suddenly she gasped as she saw Coonmask, her father, body laying on the ground "N-no please Coonmask dont leave us I beg you Starclan dont take him!" But they were gone. She cried non stop all the way back to camp.

Woodfall looked down at the little kit. "Yes they are both dead." she said sadly. She looked at Snakekit and Venomkit. "Its true that it was because of a couple of mice." The moon hung over the blood scorched land. "She shispered in Venomkits ear. "Soon you will be an apprentice. Soon you will be fighting the battles Badgerheart and Coonmask were supposed to fight. Be strong Venomkit." She sighed and stalked back to camp.

The next morning the birds twittered in the air. There were many deaths from both clans. The leader Lionstar boldly walked up apon high rock. He yowled. "Let all cats old enough to catch there own prey join here for a clan meeting!" All cats young and old stepped out from the dens. They were all still grieving about the many losses. "We have new apprentices to make! Snakekit, Fangkit, Venomkit step forward!" Woodfall felt bad for the young she-cat Venomkit. Her father wasn't there. She remembered her past. She was from the tribe and had no family here. She waited for the speech to continue.

Venomkit felt no exitement at all. She had wanted her father to see them, but now he watched from Starclan. "Venomkit, from this day on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Venompaw. Woodfall, do you promise to teach this apprentice all your corage and loyalty?" Lionstar mewed boldly. Venompaw gasped. Woodfalls going to be my mentor! She thought happily, but that stopped arubtly. Coonmask wasnt here. Tears stung her eyes as she looked around the clearing. (Oh yeah Fangkit is blind and will be a med. cat apprentice, kay?)

Venompaw stared at Woodfall with tears falling hoping she would accept. Meanwhile... Poppyseed stood within the medicine cats den. "Poppyseed!" Lionstars call rang out. Maybe I'll finally have an apprentice!! She thought happily.

I do. Woodfall replied. After all words were said and done Snakekit was Stumpytails apprentice and Fangkit was Poppyseeds apprentice

Venompaw padded over to Woodfall and touched noses with her new mentor. 'bout time I got my own apprentice Poppyseed thought happily "Come on Fangpaw! Need to teach you all the herbs, or well, a few anyway." She purred. Snakepaw padded to Stumpytail "Can we train please?" She mewed at her mentor
