Embertail dreamed about lots of things, but the most strange, was something like a flashback. He was in a dark forest, and he had heard something next to him. A starry warrior came to greet him. It was a she-cat, blue-gray, kind of like his sister. Bluestar! She kept a stone face and ed him through the forest. It starte to change. It got brighter, and the trees thinned out. Soon, they were on a moor. The WindClan camp was just ahead of them, but this looked weird. It was different. The smell of blood hung in the air. They entered the WindClan camp to see starving cats, prisoners, and Lionblaze. Embertail hissed at him, but Bluestar flicked her tail across his mouth, and he kept quiet. They went into the nursery, and saw what he thought he would never see, probably bcause it was him! It was Embertail as a kit! He was sitting next to Skyfeather, and mewling, starving. There was no mother there. She was gone. She had left them, given up on them, hated them, and didn't care. They watched for a time, then Embertail jerked awake, seeing that he hadn't been asleep that long, even if it felt like he had been sleeping for an hour.

Skyfeather frowned deeply, "It was a disaster." She turned her blue eyes to stare in to friends, "We hunted all morning and brought back more prey than a single patrol but they said with all the extra prey we were being wasteful... What dug the thorn even deeper in to my side was that right as i left the camp they sent out another hunting patrol." The she cat sighed harshly, "It just never seems to work out for me and Embertail... But enough of me, how is it going with your apprentice. He seems to be learning well for his first day."
"Just like any other apprentice on their first day. He'll be less excited after I have to wake him up early a few times." Riverheart chuckled. "Trust me, someday, the clan will get over their hate." Boulderpaw was following along obediently. "Alright Boulderpaw, here we are," he meowed as they stepped into the training area. "Now, I want you to attack me." He sat down, facing his apprentice. "Just like that? Alright." Boiulderpaw charged, staring at Riverheart's paws and Riverheart easily stepped aside, his apprentice tumbling away. "Don't look where you're aiming. Try again."

"If he dies, then it will be God's will."
"If that was meant to be comforting, it was not."
"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
Birdsong scented the air as soon as Squirrelflight and Whitewing parted to hunt. The air smelled fresh and open. Something she longed to smell. Life in camp was stuffy and hard. The outside was beautiful and the wind ruffling through her fur made her feel alive, even when she felt dead. Like now. She smelled a mouse. Birdsong tightened up and paused. At last, she spotted the gray creature scuffling near a tree root. Instantly, she dropped down into the crouch and started stalking the mouse. After a few moments, the mouse lay dead and buried under the earth.
With a low chuckle, Kestreleye watched his apprentice, Birdpaw, come up to him with an excited expression. "I know we already trained... but that was battle training! Can we go hunting?" asked the young tom, eyes bright. Comically, the warrior groaned and said in a tired voice, "Oh, my aching back. You hurt it earlier, Birdpaw. I'm too tired...!" With narrowed eyes, Birdpaw licked his lips, and got into a crouch, propelling himself into the air and onto Kestreleye's back. "How's that for an aching back?" laughed the apprentice, jumping up and down on the tom's back. With a short-lived laugh, Kestreleye rolled his eyes and stood, sending Birdpaw to the ground. "All right, all right. I really will have an aching back if you keep that up! Let's go! Quickly though, all right? Only mouse," meowed Kestreleye, giving in to the bounding, 'youngster'.

OOC: Im just going to fastforward us to where Jaystar is choosing who goes to the gathering alright? ;D
Jaystar sat in the middle of camp with his deputy Birchfall discussing those who would join them tonight. "Lets see..." Jaystar murmured, "Squirrelflight, Hollyleaf, Mousewhisker and Frostpaw..." Birchfall nodded and easily mewed on, "Kestreleye, Riverheart and Boulderpaw." Jaystar flicked his tail in agreement, "Also Bumblestorm, Cloudtail, Twisterstep, Ghostfur, Birdsong and Cinderheart." Birchfall shifted for a moment and Jaystar gave him a curious, yet blind glance. "What?" "We cant just leave both of 'them' behind can we? It looks like we dont trust them." "Well im not bringing both. My brother's kits have his blood running through their viens. We shall being Embertail and that is all." Jaystar stood and trotted away. Birchfall was left behind with a frown on his face. He loped away to tell the mentioned that they were going to the gathering.
Birdsong trotted back to camp, her jaws full with prey. She caught 1 plump shrew, 2 mice, and 2 squirrels. Whitewing and Squirrelflight trotted beside her, all occupied with prey. A successful hunt. She dropped it in the fresh-kill pile and hurried to Birchfall. "Who are going to the gathering?" she asked. Secretly, Birdsong hoped she was on the list, but every cat wanted to go to the gatherings. It was an honor.
Embertail crouched low and stared at the leader, eyes twinling with excitement. He raced over to atnd by his sister, and he drew his tongue over her ear. "I have a feeling we'll be able to go tonight," he said. His tail flicked back and forth. He didn't remember ever going to a Gathering tonight. A sly grin shown over his face, and claws kneaded the ground as he anxiously waited for Birchfall and Jaystar to hurry up and choose already.

Rather impressed with his apprentice, Kestreleye walked in, a young, plump sparrow in his jaws. Birdpaw held a mouse in his jaws that was impressive for an apprentice's first time. Seeing Jaystar about to announce the cats that were going to the Gathering, he threw his sparrow in the fresh-kill pile thoughtlessly annd bounded to listen. He never knew who would go, but this one would be interesting; maybe a little more than all the others, since you never know what cats will say at the Gatherings.
