Saturn didn't really hear Blaike as she stayed in the tree. She only shrank further back and hid her self in shame of yelling at them. She wouldn't move, for fear that she would just go out and make them more uncomfortable. No wonder Scott had told her to just go away when she had asked to be his friend. She was just a noisy brat who always got in their way. How could she be part of a flock or a family if she couldn't keep her nose out of other peoples buisness? She stared into the veil of darkness that surrounded her. She should never have left the school, but the others should have left without her. It would be better if she was still being tortured, because non of this would have happened. If she was still in a cage the others would be free and happy. They wouldn't have a nosy brat tagging along with them.

Kit stayed as he was for a few minutes. He was afraid of coming out of his protected feathery cacoon. He had heard Saturn's wing beats as she fluttered away from the skyscraper. The boy's heart pounded in his chest. He was in for it now. What was he going to do, he and Blaike were alone and he was to afriad to face her. Yet this wasnt him, he wasnt a coward! Gently the boy unwrapped his wings from his body and folded them behind his back. He looked sideways at where Blaike was. Her face was covered with her hair as she stared off in to the distance. Kit genlty stood and moved toward her. His hand were behind his back and his eyes were fixed upon the floor. "Blaike I..." he started off weakly, "I... Oh Blaike can you ever forgive me?" he looked at her with tear filled green eyes. His heart pounded in his chest making his already startling headache worse.
Saturn,as she sat in the tree, found a deeper hole that went into the ground and fell in it.She just sat in the dark, not full of emotion or full of fear. She was empty.exactly like the darkness that surrounded her and her aching heart. The hole in the tree above her was far away, not a thing shining on it, not even the monnlight, which so proudley shone on her friends. She couldn't move, because every time she sis, she slipped farther down into the tree. The others were all together except for Scott who she had left alone,Scott who only knew where Theo and the others where. No one knew she was in the tree.No one but the darkness around her. She couldn't comfort to be comforted with out making a big deal out of it. She thought about her friends. Scott had probly flown back to the others, while Theo and Zemmie just talked to each other. Kit and Blaik must hate her for butting in.And she had left the only person she had promised to be friends with--Scott. He must hate her more than anything for just disaearing. So must the others who would feel evevn more anger for having to save her only to see her run off. She loved them-dearly and more than the world-but she just wasn't cut out to be with them. They were all 16 or older and she was 13! A younger kid only butts in on older kid's problems. She was at the bottom of the hollow tree now, alone in the dark.

Blaike looked up, pushing the hair out of her face. She was a little startled to see him closer. Her brown eyes were shaking, with all the crying, lack of sleep, and anger that was welling up inside her, her headache was pounding. But she pushed all of that out of her head. Her eyes filled with tears as she saw the heartbreak and the pain in his eyes. She had to look away, "I forgive you Kit." She said quietly. "I do, I forgave you the moment you did it. I can't deny to you that it scared the crap out of me." She murmured. She looked back up at him. "You can't leave!" She burst out. "You can't! You should know by now that I can't go on without you! These people look to me when a decision has to be made, and you help me with those decisions. If I don't have you there, there is absolutely no way for me to lead them. You and I grew up together, and we have the strangest, weirdest, but most perfect relationship I've ever seen. I know exactly what you want to say when all you do is look at me." She took a deep breath. Her head was pounding ferociously. "I can't do it, Kit. Not without you." She looked back out across the sky as tears were unstoppable now. She was afraid to even look at him. He probably wanted to leave. He probably wanted out. "I can't stop you from leaving." She whispered. "But I can try."
Kit was startled for a moment. His heart leapt with joy when she said she forgave him. His head spun for a moment with everything she told him. He couldnt resist the small chuckle that pushed past his lips. He gently reached foward as she stared at the sky, tears streaking her perfect face. He grasped her hand softly only to see her head whirl around with surprise at the touch. Before she could respond, or even punch him, Kit pulled her close and wrapped his arms around her. He pressed his cheek to the side of her head and let hiw own tear dry. "With just one word you could have made me stay. All you had to say was, Stay, and i would have," Kit chuckled again, "Im like a puppy that way." He grinned to himself for a joyous moment his headache disappeared and he could think clearly. "Thank you Blaike," he whispered her name softly. He didnt use her nickname, it didnt seem appropriate at the moment. He waited for her to push him away, as if he was being to sentimental for the occasion.
Not expecting this made her nearly leap away, because quite honestly, this was scaring her almost as much as him trying to kill her. She'd never been so terrified. But for some reason, she couldn't. It was as if she was bound to him, everything in her head told her to move, but everything in her heart told her to accept this, to accept the fact that Kit was holding her. And she realized in an instant it wasn't all that hard to accept. She released her tension and closed her eyes. For once in what seemed to be her entire life, she was at peace. "Then you'll stay?" She whispered in the quietest voice, and she felt a soft smile touch the corners of her mouth. She knew immediately it was a dumb question, but she couldn't think of anything else to say or do.

Saturn, still stuck in th bottomfthe hollow dark tree, could no longer hear shouting. She still wouldn't come out though. She had selfishly yelled at them. But even if she wanted to gegt out, she couldn't. Every time she tried to move up towards the hole, she slipped further into the tree roots. She wished that she had never yelled at them, never been mugged, never molted, never escaped..... she wished she never existed! If she hadn't existed, non of this would have happened! She could never go back to them after just blurting her thoughts out like that. She was now in the tree's roots. Would they ever forgive her?!
Kit grinned when she didnt pull away. She didnt punch him or try to make the awkward situation disappear but jumping away and saying some lame joke. No, she was there in his arms, it felt good that way. When she whispered quietly it was if the whole world held its breath as he made his answer. "Of course Commander. I dont think i would have ever been able to stay away. Knowing me i just would have ended up following you guys. Kit didnt want to let go of her but he knew they had to move on. Gently Kit pulled away to he could look at Blaike's face. "I promise, i wont ever let that happen again." He leaned forward and pressed his lips to her forehead tenderly before he pulled away from her completely.
She smiled softly. Was thank you the proper thing to use here? She didn't know what to say, so she continued to smile. "We better get back to the others. Who knows what kind of trouble they've started up." She laughed softly, and stood. "Besides, we still have to find Max. We don't want them to miss us. This could be our big chance." That also made her smile. Meeting Max and her gang was what was giving her the hope to continue on. And the fact that Kit wasn't leaving, and she felt closer to him. Which felt strange, because she hadn't thought they could get any closer. But they had, in those few seconds, and she was glad. Who knew she could feel so perfect? Looking at Kit now, his normal self, with her own hope reflecting in his eyes, she knew that no matter what would happen, she'd have him forever. And that's what mattered most.
He laughed softly and spread his vibrant red wings. "As you wish Commander," With that he turned toward the edge of the building. His raptor vision caught sight of Zemmie and Theo outside a store with Scott. Scott was twisting his head in all directions to try and find the missing bird kid. Saturn was not with them. Kit growled to himself at how much trouble Saturn seemed to get herself in to. Yet she was no where to be seen. He looked all throughout the street but found no trace of her. "Commander, we've got a problem here." Blaike was immediatly at his side glanced down at the street. The soft warning in Kit's voice must had tipped her off at who he must be talking about.
